GENERAL OVERVIEW
1998 KLANG VALLEY WATER CRISIS
Selangor and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, particularly a large section of the Klang Valley experienced a serious water shortage in 1998 This water shortage, never experienced to such an extent since 1982, actually resulted in a crisis situation involving practically the whole water supply system

Some 1.8 million consumers in 665 areas and housing estates in the Klang Valley were affected by the water shortage to the extent of disrupting their daily lives and affecting them emotionally
