and practiced with the Dons...as a sophomore, led Hartnell to 2003 Coast Conference Championship,
North Regional Championship, Final Eight and its first state championship game since 1995...made all-
American, all-Conference first team in 2002, 2003...he was ranked sixth in league with scoring averaging
15.5 points...he was #4 in rebounds with 6.0 avg, #2 in blocks with 1.9 avg, #12 in assists and #5 in steals

Born on April 13, 1983, Kenny A. Barnes also known as


(KB) is the fourth youngest of seven children. His Mother a single parent raised him and his three sisters
and two brothers in, Chicago Heights an outer suburb of Illinois USA.

His mother Danette was into martial arts and basketball, she thought it would be best for her kids to all
be driven in sports to keep them focused.

At the age of fifteen Kenny followed his mothers’ footsteps and took on the sport of basketball. Kenny
went to Rich East high school located in a suburb called Park Forest about 30 minutes away from the
main city of Chicago and was scouted by Craig Hodges a retired NBA player whom invited Kenny to a
tryout for college in his senior year.
Kenny did extremely well, in fact Kenny performed so well six college teams offered him visits. Kenny
Chose Harntell College as it had a good reputation and it was in his dream state, sunny Cali.

Harntell College is a junior college up north in California located in a small city called Salinas, Monterey.
The city has a country vibe which is filled with down to earth people a nice change from the windy city
Chicago. Basketball was the most popular sport engaging supporting fans who loved basketball giving
Kenny a smile every time he touched the basketball court.

Kenny Joined the


Harntell Basketball team when he was eighteen years old. His first year in college was outstanding, he
was awarded All American, All conference, most shot blocks, and sixth leading scoring of that year. This
was one of Kenny first accomplishments he achieved with the team in his freshman year.

After his freshmen year and understanding what it takes to win and accomplish goals, he stayed for the
summer to get stronger for the following year which was his junior year. Kenny made it to the playoffs
winning the conference championship making it to the state finals, a game that was televised on TV, and
covered by the Harold newspaper.

Kenny paid a huge contribution to Harntell such as being on banners and statues for his hard work. He
was also awarded for All conference, All American, Silk Award, MVP, and as well as a full ride
scholarship to University of San Francisco. This was yet another step toward Kenny dream of one day
playing professional ball.

After the National Invitation Tournament from USF, Kenny has had workouts with the Los Angeles
Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers and Dallas Defenders he has also since travelled both nationally and
internationally playing his loved sport, basketball.
Recently Kenny moved from Los Angeles to Down Under to be with his Australian girlfriend as well as,
exploring basketball in beautiful Queensland. Kenny has done clinics with South West Metro Pirates
basketball club which he loves interacting with kids to improve their skills. He was also invited to play a
pre-season game with the Gold Coast Blaze knocking down a stunning 14 points and winning the victory
over University of San Antonio 90-68. Kenny says “I love the game as well as Australia and love teaching
kids the fundamentals of the sport at the camps. My passion is basketball and anything to help motivate
or inspire the kids of different cultures.” I am all for it”. Kenny goal is to one day have a basketball team
of his own to pass on the passion and knowledge of the sport to our next generation.
