TCAI-THAI 150
Energy efficiency with partial loads E.S.E.E.R. index
The E.E.R. represents an esti mate of the energy efficienc y of the cooling unit at nominal design conditions. Ac tually, the operating time of a cooling unit at nominal conditions is generally l ess than the operating time at partial load. The E.S.E.E.R. (European Seas onal E.E.R.) index es timates the average s easonal energy efficienc y of the cooling unit in four load and outdoor air temperatur e conditions. In general, two cooling units with the s ame E.E.R. value can have different E.S.E.E.R. values. In fact, for an air cooled cooling unit, the average energy efficienc y depends both on design choices as well as on the temperature of the inlet air at the condensing c oil. The E.S.E.E.R. energy index, introduc ed by the European Community (E.E.C.C.A.C. project - Energy Efficienc y and Certification of Central Air Conditioners), is characterized by the outdoor air temperatures ( s ee tabl e I) and for the weighted energ y values that are assigned to the four l oad conditions consider ed for calcul ation: 100% , 75%, 50% e 25% ,

Data is also c alculated using the Eurovent method. In versions P,D,T ,U, the power c ons umption of the pump is not considered. Table B: load and temperature conditions Outdoor air temper ature Load E.S.E.E.R. 100% 35C 75% 30C 50% 25C 25% 20C Tables C and "D" show the E.E.R. and E.S.E.E.R. values for eac h model. The high values of energy efficienc y at partial loads were obtained thanks to the opti mization of the heat exc hangers and the variable flow rate compressor. Electronic control
The keyboard allows the us er to view the operation temperature and all the process variabl es of the unit, and als o allows the viewing and modification of the s et points ; it also allows, by means of a pass word, access to all unit c ontr ol par ameters for technic al purpos es (access allowed to authorized personnel onl y).

KTR - Remote keyboard

The remote keyboard with displ ay (KTR), allows the r emote control and display of all the proc ess variables, digital and anal ogue, of the unit. It is therefore possibl e have all the unit functi ons directl y under your c ontr ol from anywhere in the room. It makes it possibl e to set and c ontrol the time bands (if the KSC acc essor y is present).

Use of antifreeze solutions

Use of ethyl ene glycol is a must when hydraulic circuit water drainage is not foreseen during winter. T he addition of gl ycol c hanges the physical properties of the water and consequentl y the performanc e of the unit. T he proper gl ycol percentage to be put into the system to protect it from frost c an be obtained from the har dest operation c onditi ons c hos en among those detailed below.

Anti-freeze protection during seasonal stop Table H shows the multipliers to obtain the changes of the unit performanc es acc ording to the nec essar y percentages of ethyl ene glycol. The multi pliers refer to the following conditi ons: c ondenser input air temperature 35C; c hilled water temperature 7C; temperature differ ential at evaporator 5C. For different operating c onditions the same multipliers c an be used sinc e the amount of their change is negligible.

Installation
The unit is designed for outdoor installation. Segregate the unit if installed i n areas accessible to pers ons under 14 years of age. It should be plac ed i n compliance with the mini mum rec ommended clearanc es, bearing in mind access to water and electrical c onnections located on the right-hand side . Whatever way it is ins talled, the c oil inlet air temperature (ambient air) must remain within the set limits. The unit c annot be i nstalled on brac kets or shel ves. Handling
Movement of the unit shoul d be performed with car e, in order to avoid damage to the exter nal struc ture and to the internal mechanical and electrical components . In order to ens ure that the unit is handled correctl y, bear the centre of gravity indic ated on the pac kaging in mind. The unit s houl d be correctl y l evelled and positi oned on a supporting surface c apable of sustaining its full weight. Do not stac k the units. The unit c annot be i nstalled on brac kets or shel ves. The temperature li mits for s torage are -945C.

TCAI-THAI 150 Water connections

The unit is equipped with male-thr eaded water connections and a manual air bleed val ve loc ated inside the c asing near the water connections . It is advisable to install interception val ves to isolate the unit from the res t of the unit and the el astic connection joints. It is obligatory to i nstall a networ k filter on the machine's water inl et. The water flow through the heatexc hanger should not fall below a val ue corresponding to a temperature differential of 8C. During long periods of i nacti vity, it is advisable to drai n the s ystem of water.

water connections

Alternativel y, it is possibl e to add ethylene gl ycol to the water circuit (see "us e of antifreeze s olutions")
