Faculty Workshop On

PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL WELLBEING OF YOUTH STUDENTS

CSCD (Centre for Self and Career Development) bring a unique workshop on 20th July 2012 on Psychological and emotional wellbeing of youth students. Youth today is in "struggle" to fit them into society. Difficult decisions and adjustments face young people in today's society. Inability to adjustments to changing environment, peers and colleagues, academic outburst are so much prevalent now a days that the reports about youth succumbing to pressures of life are making the headlines and disturbing us every day. Psychological cases of anxiety, depression, insomnia, stress etc, among youth are increasing day by day. Everyone is concerned about the spiritual, mental and emotional wellbeing of youth. This one day workshop is aimed to look into the psychological issues of youth and empathetic handling of the issues of youth. Experts in the field of Counseling and Psychology from Ministry of Health are participating to ponder upon the psychological needs of youth students. The resource persons are: Dr. Anjana Saxena, Jt Secretary, Mental Health. Ministry of Health. Dr. Sujit Singh, Deputy Director General Mental health. Ministry of Health. Dr. Naveen Gupta, Behavioral Scientist, Director, HIMCS, Mathura. The Need While we enter the 64th year of our independence, we must have our focus right. With 65% of our population is youth, our focus right now has to be the youth. The nation knows the power of Indian youth. But does the youth know its power? Are they heading in right direction? Are they emotionally balanced? Are they able to manage their emotions and reactions consciously? This one day workshop is in the interest of and genuine concern for the welfare of the youth.
