ARYAN INVASION.

THE GREATEST HOAX IN HISTORY New evidence has contradicted many inaccuracies and negative slants commonly found in history books about ancient India and Hinduism. It has now been scientifically established that origins of Indian Civilization go back to the end of the last Ice Age, when the Indian sub continent started receiving abundant monsoons. It is now equally well established that Vedic literature is not only oldest and richest in the world, but is also of a mature civilization. Vedic Aryans turned to -the spoken word-, which may seem the most volatile and insubstantial material of all. But out of this bubble of air, they fashioned a monument which stands untouched by time or the elements, more than sixty centuries later. John Lee, a French Student of the Vedas said, The pyramids have been eroded by the desert wind, the marble broken by earthquakes, and the gold stolen by robbers, while the Veda is recited daily by an unbroken chain of generations, traveling like a great wave through the living substance of mind. The vast ancient Indian literature, subsequently written in old Indian classical literary languages of Hinduism, viz Sanskrit, Prakit and Pali, reproduces THAT spoken word and contains valuable information about our ancient civilization. All recent discoveries verify the antiquity of Vedic culture which, not only reflects profound spiritual concepts, but also skill in mathematics, astronomy and medicine plus special knowledge of language, grammar, and other hallmarks of a great civilization spread over centuries, in which even the king had to bow down before the ascetic and the renunciate. Latest geological data places this phase primarily between 8000 and 5000 BC. The art and literature produced by these Vedic people, called primitive by Western Historians, is far superior to what was produced by other bygone civilizations, and what is being produced even today. That could not have been the work of nomads and barbarians. Vedic commentator, Sayana of 14th Century A.D, notes a hymn to the Sun from Rig Veda I.50, Tatha ca smaryate Yojananam sahasre dve dve sata dve ca yojane ekena misardhena kramamana O Sun you who traverse 2202 yojans in half a nimesh. A nimesh is about 1/5 of a second. A yojan is about 9 miles. This provides a figure very close to the 186,000 miles per second, recognized as the speed of light. As far back as 1886, R.J. Oldham of the Geological Survey of India concluded that a great river with its course lying between the Yamuna and the Sutlej did exist in ancient times as described in the Rig Veda.

Oldham based his conclusions on similarity of fossil remains along the course of a dry river bed. His work was ignored by Western Historians. To them, Saraswati was only a deity worshipped in the form of a river. It was only after 1950, when it was clearly established that most of the Harappan sites were on dried banks of the river that Oldham had identified as the Saraswati, that historians started taking notice. Geology shows that Saraswati River was the very original homeland of the Vedic people, flowing east of Indus and roughly parallel to it, from the Himalayas to the Rann of Kachchh. Beginning 1978, images by earth sensing satellites launched by NASA and ISRO found traces of this ancient river course as described in the Vedas. Discovery of burnt stubbles of cereal plants trapped in the sediments of lakes Lunkaransar and Didwana in western Rajasthan, show that people of the Saraswati domain had taken to agriculture in about 7400 to 6000 BC. Prithu is credited with the creation of agriculture and for giving the earth its name, Prithvi. Saraswati River is also mentioned in Mahabharata in 3102 B.C. Scientists have found evidence of at least one earthquake in about 3000 B.C, that could have caused the Saraswati to change course when the river was already in decline. Vedic texts also show that it ceased to flow about 1900 BC. Many urban sites, eight to ten thousand years old, have been found recently, along this now dry river, which reveal important information on the history and cultural development of India. Ancient settlements also occurred along this river in parts of Rajasthan and Kachchh, in areas where there is little water today. What sustained this civilization was water of the Saraswati. National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) has found signs of a vast urban site under waters of the gulf of Khambhat. Sonar mapping of this site reveals it to be some 10 km by 2 km in extent, or the size of Manhattan Island. Man-made wooden objects recovered from this site and analysed by radiocarbon testing, date them to 7500 BC. Thus the Vedas, Puranas, Mahabharata and Ramayana can now be correlated with scientific data. But because these sites have been found by archaeologists in India in the 20th century, from a culture outside the traditional boundaries of Western Civilization, they are still being treated as secondary. In accordance with archaeo astronomical calculations based on planetary conjunctions, recently reconfirmed by Dr. P.V. Vartak, dates of the Ramayana show Rama's Birth on Dec 4, 7323 B.C. He married Sita on April 7, 7307 B.C and was exiled on 29.11.7307 B.C. With similar archaeo astronomical Calculations of the Kali Yuga epoch in about 550 A.D., Aryabhatta found date of events of the Mahabharata War including Bhagavad Gita, to be 3102 B.C. Aihole inscription of Pulikeshi II, dated 634 A.D., claims that 3735 years have elapsed since the Bharata battle. This accurately corresponds with what Aryabhatta calculated about a hundred years earlier. When the Greeks came into contact with India about the time of Alexander in 300 BC, they found that the Indians had a record of 154 kings over 6451 years and three months from Manu onwards.

Placing Manu as the first king agrees well with the time period of the end of the Ice Age. Hindu Puranas also record 153 kings between Manu and Chandragupta.

Ramayana describes a highly developed civilization far from barbaric. Obviously such a developed civilization could not have been imagined by sage Valmiki to write a work of fiction! Furthermore a treatise on philosophy of life such as The Bhagawat Geeta, is neither a figment of fertile imagination, nor could have been written by or for barbarians in a barbarian country to be conquered by the so called Aryans, 1502 years later. Angus Maddison stated that, India has given birth to more spiritual teachings and mystical traditions than any other region in the world. Therefore view of India as having borrowed its culture mainly from the West has no real scientific basis and reflects western inability to understand Indian civilization. Hindu idea of an eternal tradition of truth (Dharma), extends to Hindu view of the universe, defined according to natural cycles of Yugas which reflect on age of the universe. It recognizes that our current universe is only one of many that exist and existed in time and space. But Western mind interprets history according to its own linear models, and ignores the role of natural history and its cycles. Biblical superstition was that the world, with all its present life forms, was created in 4004 BC. Therefore 19thcentury European scholars could not accept that Indian history and civilization went much farther back in time. They naturally used records from Greek sources and the Bible, focused on river valleys of the Nile plus the Euphrates-Tigris and their deltas and created historical models based on them. Because this gave an antiquity of about 5000 years of human culture, back to about 3000 B.C, they looked at everything before this date as prehistoric or primitive, ignoring regions like India and China, as of little importance. New to the study of India, they treated Ancient India more as a borrower in the main development of world civilization through the West and invented an Aryan Invasion in about 1500 B.C, that was supposed to have brought the Vedic civilization and the Aryan language (Sanskrit) to India from the so called Aryan west. They further claimed that the Non Aryan Harappan civilization was destroyed by these invading Aryans with horse-drawn chariots and iron weapons. This Aryan race was declared by the western historians to be fair skinned, generally blond and blue-eyed, to coincide with the features of most western peoples. Modern science of molecular genetics has disproved this. To date, no ruins, encampments, settlements or remains, of any invading Aryans have ever been found, shown or proven to have existed, No horses, chariots or iron was discovered in Indus Valley sites. Also Chariots are totally unsuitable to cross mountains and deserts, as the so-called Aryan are supposed to have done!? Furthermore no archeological skeletal remains of the so called Aryans have ever been found and no Harappan sites have ever been found that were destroyed by outside invaders.

North India forms a vast plain defined by a series of seven great Himalayan rivers from the Indus in the west to the Brahmaputra in the east. Saraswati was the eighth river. Five of these great rivers became tributaries. The Brahamputra joins the Ganges in the eastern plains. The Indus and the Saraswati led into the ocean in the Arabian Sea and the Ganges, together with the Brahamaputra lead their waters into the Bay of Bengal. Because of this and a large peninsular coast line, India has been a maritime nation for ages, through the network of its large rivers into the sea. Its greatest access has always been through natural maritime routes to Persian Gulf, Arabia, Red Sea and the Mediterranean in the west, plus easy maritime access to Malaysia, Indochina and Indonesia in the east. But ancient Indians are know to have ventured farther. At an international conference on seafaring held in 1994 in Delhi, several papers were presented showing that Indian cotton was exported to South and Central America going back to 2500 BC and even as far back as 4000 BC. A PTI story filed on March 7 1994 reported an international scientific meeting where it was affirmed that, Cotton from India reached Latin America at least 4000 years before Columbus. This was carried across the oceans by ancient mariners who had mastered long-distance navigation. Fabrics based on this cotton dating back to 2500 BC, have been found at a site called Husca Preita in Peru. Akkadian records attest to the importation of trade items like cotton and lapis lazuli (a semi-precious stone) from India to the west. Such fabrics could not have been manufactured by barbarians, much less exported by them. Many Harappan artifacts including seals have been found in Mesopotamian sites in Sumeria, which used the weights and measures of Harappa in its trade. While Indian artifacts in West Asia are common, Mesopotamian artifacts in India are rare. Even in Greco-Roman times the main trade was from India, which was a constant drain on the Roman economy. Archeologists have found many sites evidencing indigenous developments over centuries. A brick basin has been dug up at Lothal, built during the Indus Valley Civilization in about 2300 B.C, measuring, 718 x 121 and 15 ft deep. That such a sophisticated harbor like Lothal was in operation by 2300 BC in India shows that it was needed to support Indias maritime trade. This is the earliest known dock in the world and connected the city of Lothal, to an ancient course of the Saraswati river on the trade route between Harappan cities in Sindh and the peninsula of Saurashtra when the surrounding Kutch desert of today was a part of the Arabian Sea. Ships could be brought into this dock from the nearby estuary, via an artificial channel kept clear of silt by controlled flow of water from the spillway. This technology has been extensively used to create docks in the 20th century. Size of country craft that still sail the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal, could be regularly docked at Lothal. Western historians claim that the Aryan invasion of a barbaric civilization, took place about 1500 B.C. But Archaeology has proved that this dock was already about 800 years old by then, when Maritime trade between India and South and Central America to the east and Mesopotamia to the west, flourished .

Stories of Sindbad the Sailor, were treated by western historians with disdain, and dismissed as fables. In 1979 A.D, the Ruler of Oman, set out to prove the western historians wrong. He got a ship built on the Kerala Coast of India, exactly as the ships described in those stories. The SOHAR is built of Kerala teak, stitched together with coir yarn dipped in fish oil and equipped exactly as described in the Sindbad stories. Not a nail has been used to build this ship as iron was not known in those days. The crew were equipped with only THAT navigation and other equipment which was available in the days of Sindbad. They sailed the Sohar on this Sindbad Voyage, all the way to China, if only to prove that the Sindbad stories were not just fables. This way, the ridiculous disdain and disbelief of the western historians has been belied by Arab enterprise in the 20th century. Ancient Sanskrit lexicon Amarakosha identifies ARYA as synonym for praiseworthy conduct and ANARYA for non gentlemanly conduct. Hindu Epics, primarily used this term in the moral sense. In more than a thousand hymns of Rig veda, the term Arya is used 36 times in 34 hymns. Ancient Indian kings called themselves Arya as a title of respect! In the Ramayana, the monkey king Sugreeva is called Arya. He also speaks of his brother Vali as Arya. Ravana king of Lanka regarded himself and his ministers as Aryas. The Ramayana also describes Rama as: arya sarva samascaiva sadaiva priyadarsanah, meaning "Arya, who worked for equality of all and was dear to everyone." This term also referred to noble or cultured speech. Therefore, Arya was an important title of respect for praiseworthy conduct, used in India, to symbolize nobility and refinement of behavior, character and speech over thousands of years. Modern genetics show that there is no historical basis to differentiate the Aryan from Dravidian. There is no Dravidian race than there is an Aryan race. They were a single people divided by imagination of European scholars for their convenience. No ruling dynasty called itself Dravidian. In fact, term Dravidian refers to the people of peninsular India, specifically the Panch Dravida or five Dravidian regions, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Greatest of the Rig Vedic seers, Vasishtha, is portrayed as younger brother of Agastya. This dominant seer from South India has twenty-five hymns in the Rig Veda. In fact Archaelogical excavations and findings at Lothal in Gujarat, Kalibangan in Rajasthan, Harappa and Mohenjodaro have now revealed that the Indus Valley culture was not destroyed by outside invasion but due to the drying up of the Saraswati River which ended the Vedic Age. This means that these urban ruins should be dated before the river dried up. Mahabharata contains references to the Saraswati river. This means that this river dried up after 3102 B.C. Furthermore, since the term ARYA was a term for respect in ancient India, for over 6000 years, to symbolize nobility, one wonders how the 19th century western historians ever coupled it to imaginary invaders from Central Asia through North West India and called it an Aryan invasion?

Max Mueller was a prominent western historian who propagated the Aryan invasion theory. But he believed in Biblical chronology. Most scholars agree that the Hebrew Bible was composed and compiled between the 12th and the 2nd century before the birth of Jesus Christ. Even Ancient history of Greece known to be the oldest civilization in the west, dates back to 2000-1700 B.C when Myceneans entered mainland Greece. Minoan Civilization in Greece reached its zenith between 1700- 1500 B.C. The Trojan War is dated 1200 B.C. As against that archaeo astronomical calculations of Aryabhatta place the Mahabharata War to have been fought in about 3102 B.C. Considering that David king of the Jews is said to have ruled over Israel, from about 1100 B.C, it is obvious that psyche of the western historians did not allow them to see ancient history of the world much beyond the dates of Greece and Israel. This coupled with their notions of western imperialism, did not allow them to see any ancient culture beyond 15 th century B.C and to accept any civilization in the world except what they could imagine and discern, to which the so called Aryans invented by them were deemed to belong. With such dates fixed in his mind it became difficult for Max Mueller to find an advanced ancient civilization in India before 1500 BC. Therefore, he assumed that 'Vedas' & 'Upanishads' were each composed in 200 year periods after the Aryan invasion, but before the Buddha, 500 BC. But when faced with historical evidence and reality, even Max Mueller switched from an Aryan race to Aryan language which is equally an invention of a Western mind. Scholars after him followed suit. Thus the entire theory of this so called Aryan invasion appears to have been invented by Christian historians unsympathetic to the 'Vedas' and Vedic culture. The Aryan invasion theory turned the "Vedas", the original scriptures of ancient India, into little more than primitive poems of uncivilized plunderers. Just because Western historians failed to understand them, they ignored them. Julian Huxley, one of the greatest biologists of all time, dismissed the Aryan theory as part of political and propagandist literature. American historian and mathematician A. Seidenberg, made a comparison of Vedic mathematics with the mathematics of Old Babylonia of about 1700 BC, and Egyptian Middle Kingdom of about 2000 to 1800 BC. He found that astronomical references in the Rig Veda show that Vedic Aryans were around in India well before 2500 BC. Therefore, what was previously regarded as the beginning of history around 3000 BC, is now being seen as yesterday because much older natural history, with culture, agriculture and language has now been discovered. Romain Rolland - French Philosopher (1886--1944) has written, "If there is one place on the face of this Earth "where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when Man began the dream of existence, it is India."

Bal Gangadhar Tilak had independently concluded that parts of the Rig Veda were composed as early as 4000 BC and not after 1500 B.C as per western historians. This plus evidence from mathematics, astronomy, computer science, genetics, and a Number of recent findings through archaelogical digs, at Harappa and Mohenjadaro, establishes cultural continuity in the Indian sub continent from before 4000 B.C to further disprove the18th/19th century European theory of an Aryan invasion of Harappan and Mohanjodaro civilizations. Further new researches are now rewriting history to show many inconsistencies in the theories of the western historians. Ancient writers, used the designation "India" for all countries to the south and east of the Roman Empire's frontiers. In the Latin version of the Syriac Diatessaron, India included Ethiopia, Arabia Felix, Edessa in Syria Arachosia Gandhara and many countries up to the China Sea. The word 'Hindu" is absent in early sacred literature of India. It was used by ancient Persians, without religious connotations, for people inhabiting the lands of and beyond river Indus. Foreign invaders of the medieval period used it to collectively describe followers of Indian religions. The British defined Hindus for demographic and legal purposes. Faculty that most defines human beings is speech. Origins of civilization is linked to development of speech, which arose much earlier in history than civilizations themselves. Written texts, go back only 5000 years, and that also in fragments. Societies that have not used writing have also had high degree of verbal skills. Aryan invasion was also needed to justify certain linguistic theories. Ancient languages as Latin, Greek, Iranian and Sanskrit have many affinities as do Germanic, Slavic, Baltic and others. Dominance of civilizations like India, Iran, Greece, and Rome aided in the continuity of such linguistic groups, but not their origin. Based on this idea, scholars proposed Central Asia as a kind of common point of dispersion. Sanskrit as a language has endured when all other great ancient languages have fallen into extinction. Greatest diversity and highest antiquity of Sanskrit and its derivatives are found in India. Vedas and Sanskrit, tell us a lot about Indian Civilization. A region that could develop great languages like Sanskrit and Tamil can only be held deficient in western imagination.
Ruins by themselves do not necessarily have an interpretation of their own. They have to be interpreted correctly. Literature and archaeological ruins can be equated. For example Vedic literature explains Harappan ruins and vice versa. The Sarasvati River provides the link. This proves that there was no such thing as literature without a civilization and a civilization without literature. While Egypt and Greece, could not survive the onslaught of time, India maintained the continuity of its civilization and ancient religion. Harappa on the Ravi River in the Punjab and Mohenjodaro in Sind, are only two of the more than 2000 settlements which have been found. Harappan archaeology represents the closing phase of the Vedic civilization.

Attempt by western historians to wrongly interpret ruins not only to invent the Aryans people but also the Aryan invasion in about 1500 BC, is not history but an attempt to devalue ancient Indian

history and culture for the benefit of the West. All ancient cultures including Egyptian, Babylonian, Jewish, Greek and Persian saw the light of civilization and spirituality coming to them from what they called the East. Biblical Hebrews also came to the land of Ur from East. While there is no evidence of migration INTO India, there is evidence of migration OUT of India. Linguistic similarities between European and Central Asian languages and Vedic language and literature are not because Sanskrit was brought INTO India by the so called Aryans, but because Sanskrit was taken OUT of India by immigrants through the North west over centuries. High mountains and hostile deserts separate India from the West and the North. West was generally looked down upon as a region of barbarians. Contacts were sporadic and were mainly through invaders from India going west through North West of India. There are literary accounts in the Vedas and the Purans of Indian dynasties being either driven out or migrating west and north. The Ikshvaku King Mandhata, a remote ancestor of Lord Rama, drove some troublesome princes and their followers, the Druhyus, out to the northwest. King Sudasa, assisted by the rishis Vasishtha and Vishvamitra, drove other Druhyus and the Prithu-Parthivs (proto-Persians) beyond the frontiers into Central and West Asia. Furthermore, following the decline of Harappan civilization after drying up of the Sarasvati in 2200-1900 BC, there were movements west out of India. Beginning about 1750 BC, a Kassite military class, people of Indian origin, went west and overthrew the Amorite Empire of Babylon, once ruled by Hammurabi and ruled Babylon for over 500 years. Their deites Shimalaya (Himalaya), Maruttias (Maruts), Surias (Surya) and others attest to their Indian ancestry, not the other way round. Some centuries later, the Hittites and the Mittanis sealed a treaty by invoking Vedic deities like Indra, Mitra and Varun in Anatolia, nearly a thousand miles to the West. Hence Sanskrit in the west. These Indian people occur mainly as ruling aristocracy, not as uncivilized barbarians. Social and political implications of the Aryan invasion idea served to divide India into a northern Aryan and Southern Dravidian culture which were made hostile to each other. This kept the Hindus divided and is still a source of social tension. Secondly, it served to make Vedic culture later than AND derived from Middle Eastern cultures. Proximity and relationship of the latter with the Bible and Christianity, kept Hindu religion as a sideline to the development of religion and civilization of the West. Thirdly, it allowed sciences of India to be given a Greek basis, as any Vedic basis was largely disqualified by describing Vedic culture as primitive. This discredited not only the 'Vedas' but the genealogies of the 'Puranas' because their long lists of kings before the Buddha and Krishna were left without any historical basis. Instead of a war in which all the main kings of India participated as is described, The 'Mahabharata' became a local skirmish among petty princes that was later exaggerated by poets.

Such political and religious combine led to prejudice instead of scholarship. This mostly discredited the Hindu tradition and its ancient literature and turned its scriptures and sages into fantasies and exaggerations. Because they were made to believe that basis of their culture was
8

neither historical nor scientific, but foreign, it made the Hindus feel that their culture was not the great thing that their sages and ancestors had said it was. It made them believe that the main line of civilization was developed first in the Middle East and then in Europe and that the culture of India was peripheral and secondary to the real development of world culture. Tolerance is a virtue. Hinduism propagates it in every aspect of life. In 10000 long years of Hinduism there have never been instances of intolerance by Hindus of other societies and or religions, be it Judaism, Christianity or Islam. It is a matter of recorded history that Christianity has existed in India virtually from day one, when soon after Jesus Christ was crucified St Thomas came to India. While Christians were being persecuted in Rome over a thousand years, they flourished in India. Similarly Islam has flourished in India for over a millennium. Tolerance also has another virtue and that is that it helps to assimilate other thoughts and philosophies. It is for this reason that an Indian Christian is not like any other Christian in the world. Similarly an Indian Muslim is not like any other Muslim in the world. This because they have been assimilated into the Indian Ethos over time through tolerance. But when taken to its extreme, tolerance is considered weakness and allows a false view of one's own culture and religion to be propagated without question. Unfortunately, that becomes self-betrayal. It was not until the time of Alexander the Great in the fourth century BC that Western peoples finally made it to India in a significant way and marveled at its civilization. They also learnt of the fabulous wealth of India. Angus Maddison stated that India was the richest for over 75% of the worlds counted calendar of history and Indian Subcontinent held the largest share of worlds gross domestic product, until end of the 16th century. The British first came to India in 1608 A.D to find the country fabulously rich with a rich culture and a highly developed civilization. Sir Thomas Roe reached the court of Emperor, Jahangir, in 1615, Since they had nothing to show of their own civilization between Stonehenge (2200 BC) and the Invasions of Julius Caeser in mid first century B.C, it was psychologically difficult for the pre Victorian and Victorian British people to accept an ancient civilization, over 8000 years old, so rich in culture and heritage as the Indian. With the Battle of Plassey behind them, and the riches of India in front of them, they added spice to the Aryan theory by further using the ancient Vedic scriptures, which depict a concept of perpetual war between darkness and light. They interpreted this vedic concept to mean war between light skinned and dark skinned people, propagating that the Aryan invaders of 1500 B.C had fair skins, blue eyes and blonde hair. Since this coincided with the features of the British, they claimed to be superior.

This also added more spice to the Aryan invasion theory and served a social, political and economical purpose of domination, by propagating superiority of Western culture and religion, after which it became easy for the British to systematically exploit the wealth of India.
9

Here are the words of Lord Macaulay in his address to the British Parliament on Feb 2 1835. I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage. And therefore I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture. For if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self esteem their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation. The British continued to follow these words to the letter and succeeded in doing India untold damage over the next 112 years. Thus the Western Vedic scholars knitted up compelling reasons for the Aryan invasion theory and spread a culture of imperialism which did in the intellectual sphere what the British army did in the political realm. This helped them firstly because every Englishman was persuaded to be superior than the Indian. And secondly as it affected the Indian psyche to believe that the British were superior. This gave the British an opportunity to dominate Greater India including what is now Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and Bangala Desh, by claiming to be doing only what their Aryan ancestors had previously done millennia ago, because of superiority of their race. Culture and religion in the entire greater India region, drew its inspiration from India. Anyone traveling through countries like Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Java, Sumatra and Indonesia cannot fail to be struck by the pervasive presence of Greater Indian culture in the region. They took the epics of the Ramayan and the Mahabharat and stamped them with their own peculiar genius. Kings of Thailand call themselves Rama, present ruler is Rama IX. Cambodian rulers carry the royal title of Varma which originated in Kerala. No conquest or invasion, no forced conversion was imposed on these Countries. Hu Shih, former Chinese ambassador to USA stated that India conquered and dominated China culturally for 20 centuries without ever having to send a single soldier across her border. The whole region from Mekong and South China Sea to the Indus and the Arabian Sea is united by climate, history and culture through continuous exchange over thousands of years. Angkor Wat itself is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology. Their ancient deities are Shiv, Vishnu, Brahma and Buddha. Worlds greatest Vishnu temple is not in India but at Angkor in Cambodia.

System of sacrificial altars at Mohanjodaro and the hieroglyphics on earthenware at Harappa and Lothal, i.e the 64 signs, reduced to 24 alphabets, is Indias gift to the world, emulated by the semitic civilization. Therefore the theory that Aryans invaded India in about 1500 B.C and developed the so called Indus Valley Civilization, is perhaps the greatest FRAUD in history, perpetuated on a nation by western historians whose psyche was conditioned by Christianity and western imperialism.

History is man-made. But a great culture cannot rise from a historical vacuum or from mere borrowings from invading nomads. Archaeological and historical evidence of Ancient Indian History and spiritual wisdom, abiding value of Vedic literature and practices cannot be ignored. Even though Indian Vedic scholars like Dayananda Saraswati, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Arobindo rejected it, most Hindus allow Western, generally Christian, scholars to interpret our history and passively accept it. Even till today, sixty years after Independence, Schools, colleges and universities in India still use the Western history books and Western Vedic translations that denigrate our own culture and country. Natural history, archaeology and ancient records, together with many new archaeological discoveries, geology and genetics, give us a coherent picture of ancient India and her civilization, which warrants a new look at this ancient land and its legacy as a great world civilization. In the same vein, Indias evolution of art, culture, literature, architecture, music, dance, medicine, astronomy, mathematics, fine arts and spirituality can no more be ignored. Every millennium has its challenges. There were such cycles before and there will be such cycles in the future. This is what our ancient Rishis called Yugas. Killing fields and Colonization are long gone, but spiritual heritage remains. Civilizations rise and decay but certain values are eternal. Indias culture is itself a proof of a great history which is one of the cultural and spiritual adventures of the world into dawn of its history. Its gifts in language, literature and science bring the spirit of Indias great past, back to life. Yet even today, historians are doing very little to correct the distortions caused in the past, thereby allowing the anti-Hindu and anti-Vedic sentiments to prevail. This borders on racism and breeds conflict and misunderstanding. Need of the day is to discard the old, now disproved false opinions and to recreate Vedic civilization that dominated the post-Ice Age period, in the hearts and minds of all. THAT spirit is still with us.
