Nucor has expended to 22 plants while managing to instill its unique culture in all of the facilities it has bought, an achievement that makes him a more than worthy successor to Iverson. Nucors performance, even in a depressed economy, has been nothing less than sensational. At Nucor, managing and leading is about an unblinking focus on the people on the front line of the business. Its about talking to them, listening to them, taking a risk on their ideas and accepting the occasional failure. Culture built in part with symbolic gestures. Every employees name goes on the cover of the annual report.

3) If innovative solutions to problems are needed at Nucor, how do you think they will emerge? That is, will internal or external forces bring about the needed innovations? Explain Outside forces that can bring innovation that is needed is technology, where an explosion of knowledge has introduced new technology for almost every business function. Speed computers have made possible the high data processing and product solutions to complex problems.

For the internal forces is about communication with decision-making, in which sometimes it will make the decision last minute and it will create problems, including fractions. Decision is made, be made too late or lack of quality. In many organizations the need to change unrecognition goes up several major disaster occurs. Employees to attack or get union recognition beore finally management recognizes the need for action.
