ABSTRACT
Training and development has been a subject of growing interest in recent years. A vital subject it covers the impact of training activity in employees performance. In human resource area, effect of training activities is highly dependent on the employees and level of training program. Evaluate training activities output and calculating return on investment as a subject has long been overshadowed numerous in-depth studies in employee performance at organizations; however it remains a crucial feature which if neglected has a negative consequences. Organizations provide training activities rely hugely on employee's ability to learn from training courses materials at optimal time. The evaluation of training activities and calculating return on investment achieve such results required good management, qualified HRD stuff understanding their role in evaluation process. The output training courses are needed to be evaluated with one of evaluation training activity models. The maintenance of this ideal of training activities with evaluate training programs output can help in measuring employees performance leading to long term improved productivity and increased profitability on organization. The aim of this research in the human resource area is measuring and evaluating training activities and calculate return on investment in Kuwait institute for scientific research (KISR) by using the ROI model of evaluation training courses output and calculate return on investment, in addition, to determine the variables that affect in evaluating training activities output. Amongst the key finds found in the study is fairness on evaluating training course but low in calculating return on investment in KISR. There results were based on using a sample of 259 employees from the ten divisions in KISR and adopting advance statistical techniques. Also, interviews were made with four managers and senior employees at KISR. Detailed finding and recommendations are documented providing same suggestion to management on area requiring attention in order to achieve improved training activities and calculate return on investment in Kuwait institute for scientific research.
