1. How can I prepare for IELTS? Your rst step is to read IELTS information for candidates available from the British Council or from the IELTS website www.ielts.org. You can also purchase from the British Council ofces IELTS materials for 100 QR, which contains sample IELTS tests showing you exactly what the test is like. You must register at least 5 weeks before your preferred test date. 7. What can I bring into the examination room? Only pens, pencils and erasers. You also need to bring the same original identication document you supplied when you registered for IELTS, as these need to be checked against the information on the application form. What can I do if I am unhappy with my result? You can apply for an Enquiry on Results procedure at the test centre. You must do this within six weeks of the test dates. The fee for this service is 60 which is fully refundable if your score changes. You will receive your results in 6 8 weeks. 14. How can I send copies of my test report form (TRF) to institutions? Five original TRFs can be produced free of charge by British Council Examinations Services, and sent electronically to the institutions such as Universities, Immigration Consultants, Nursing Boards, HR Departments etc. mentioned by you in your application form within one month of the result date. If the candidate chooses, these TRFs can be couriered and an additional fee will be charged. 15. Is IELTS accepted in the US? Yes.
