OBJECTIVE
My objective is to be a member in a communication engineering company that gives opportunity of practical practice in field of communication (especially wireless communication and networking) and provides experience in new technologies.

EDUCATION

B.Sc. Honor (Second Upper Class) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Khartoum, Sudan, 2009.

The Major: Telecommunication Engineering. Sudanese Secondary School Certificate.

Final Year Project

Student's fingerprint attendance system using Visual Basic, PHP interface and MySQL database. All information belong to students (name, id), fingerprint readers (IP address, device id), lectures times in detail and courses tables including attendance information of targeted students for each course are included within MySQL database. PHP interface includes tools for querying this database besides tables that display attendance case for each course. Visual basic interface is used by administrator for data transfer from the device to the PHP interface. Attendance has been restricted by both time and place allowing legal attendance to be read by fingerprint reader and displayed in the PHP interface. Illegal attendance has just to be read by fingerprint reader but not reflected by the interface. The connection between the reader and the server has been made through Ethernet LAN.

Skills and Abilities

Good programming abilities using HTML and PHP (along with MySQL). Good programming abilities using C programming language. Good skills in computer applications (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Internet and Database programs (SQL)). Familiar with Linux operating system. Familiar with Matlab, AutoCAD and workbench.

Good theoretical and practical knowledge with SDH&DWDM. Very good knowledge about GSM and its associated protocols. Good knowledge about other mobile communication systems (UMTS), besides good knowledge about VoIP. Good knowledge about GSM network optimization and its alarms. Good knowledge about networking (including configuring and troubleshooting of Cisco switches, routers, STP, VTP, VPN and WAN protocols configuration [FR, PPP]) along with good knowledge about MPLS. Good knowledge about routing protocols and how to be configured on routers. Good knowledge about Frame Relay and ATM. Basic knowledge about Wi-Fi and WiMax. Able to work in far regions & rural areas. Able to work under stress and for long periods. Excellent self- study abilities.

EXPERIENCE
I was working as DT (Drive Test) engineer for 8 months (11/2010-07/2011) for NewZone Company. This job has involved performing tests for new or swapped sites for telecommunications operators (Sudani, Zain, MTN), and involves performing other routine tests (cluster test involves showing systems coverage and quality in specific area), along with DT for sites or areas of complaints.

Tests have been made to experience the response to CS/PS call request whether in case of using one cell or multiple cells (call accessibility and retainability), to experience selection and reselection of cells in idle mode and also to show cell coverage range and behavior whether to be normal as required or not. Tests involve also showing data rates of various telecommunication systems (2.5G [EDGE], 3G [R99], 3.75G [HSPA]). Some tests require measuring azimuth, mechanical and electrical tilt of antennas. Others require fixing cross between feeders of antennas or resetting the site for satisfactory operation. Tests are performed using Probe (Huawei product) or TEMS (Ericsson product) software. I am also familiar with preparing reports using Genex Assistant.

This carrer requires being in contact with various network specializations (installation, optimization, OMC and BSC) to solve problems found during tests. According to my experience in dealing with OMC staff, they are responsible for reporting alarms and taking some remedial actions (i.e. resetting sites) and determining state of nodes whether they are up or down and the reason if they are down. BSC engineers are responsible for preparing new/swapped/expanded sites scripts, handling alarms along with field engineers and also following transmission availability and status.

I am currently working with Huawei radio network optimization team for Zain project in Sudan. My career includes preparing weekly KPI reports and a specific database that contains various information about the network sites (neighbor list, BCCH frequencies, configuration of each site, Abis Time Slots assignment mode, etc) and other network nodes configurations. I am responsible for following up with drive test engineers and how to diagnose/apply solutions for DT problems (e.g. abnormal RxLev, problems in accessibility, etc...). I am also responsible for daily tracking of network performance and KPIs degradation or improvement and to provide optimization recommendations to improve performance of the network. I am also responsible for preparing scripts that are related to RNO procedures (configuring neighbors, Half Rate thresholds, etc...).

My career is done using iManager M2000, PRS and CME software applications, through which I can perform previous tasks besides getting access to all BSCs of the network to modify various parameters to optimize the network performance and run MML configuration commands and scripts.

Languages
