Venue for Counselling: Department of Management Studies

counsel Counseling time will be displayed on the Institute website and or outside the counselling venue You must report for Counselling/Interview/Written Test at least 30 minutes before the scheduled date & time.
Candidates appearing for the Written Test can appear for Interview for other department(s), if any, before/after the Written Test is over. The merit list based on normalized GATE Marks (70% weightage) plus Interview/Written Test (30% weightage) will be displayed before start of counselling at Department of Management Studies.

-2Please note the following requirements and bring attested copies with original at the time of Interview/Written Test/Counselling and also registration: 1. 2. 3. You should appear in person for the Interview/Written Test and Counselling (as applicable) as per the schedule given. You will be allowed to appear for Interview/Written Test and counselling (as applicable) only on producing this letter and the original valid GATE score card. Your identity will be verified as per the photograph on your GATE score card. All Sponsored candidates must be required to attend an Interview/Written Test on 03-06-2012 at 9.00 a.m. in the concerned department and for M.Tech. (P&P) candidates will be held at IIT Roorkee Campus. In case you do not attend Interview, you will not be eligible for counselling/admission. You must bring sponsorship certificate in original and a copy of the appointment letter issued by the sponsoring organization. Certificate of two years experience would also be required. Please note that all the Institute dues shall be paid by the sponsoring organization with a forwarding letter on their letter pad. In case of any doubt your case may be enquired from the sponsoring organization. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should bring the category certificate (in original) issued by a competent authority as given in Annexure-4 of the Information Brochure-2012. The candidate, however, shall be entirely responsible for proving his / her eligibility for claiming reservation under any category applied for. In case, it is not proved, he/she will be treated as a General category candidate. Candidates belonging to OBC category must produce certificate issued after March 31, 2011 by any of the authorities specified in Annexure-4 on the latest prescribed format of Govt. of India (given on the Institute website www.iitr.ernet.in). No other certificate except given on the Institute website will be acceptable. He/She must also bring original copy of Category certificate at the time of Registration. In case, it is not provided he/she shall be treated as a General category candidate. The PD (Persons with Disability) candidates must be required to attend Institute Medical Board at IIT Hospital on 02.06.2012 (Saturday) at 9.00 a.m. positively, failing which you will not be eligible for counselling under the PD category. The PD (Persons with Disability) candidates must bring original (along with an attested copy) of Medical Deficiency Certificate, issued by the Government Medical Board. A certificate from the candidate registered without production of proof of passing the qualifying examination/appeared in the backpaper(s)/supplementary(ies) and also result not declared till date of registration i.e. July 22, 2012 on AnnexureAnnexure-5 of PG Information Brochure-12. The candidates shall bring with all previous semesters/ years marks sheets to check minimum qualification, etc. If you have not yet completed your qualifying degree and have appeared or due to appear in the final year examination, your admission, if offered, shall be provisional subject to the condition that you must have completed the course and appeared in all the examinations before the date of registration and you can produce the proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required percentage/CGPA (as per clause 6.4 (b) of the Information Brochure-2012) latest by September 30, 2012, failing which your admission shall stand cancelled. If you are offered admission, you will have to deposit a demand draft of Rs. 20,120/- for GENERAL/OBC, Rs.15,120/- for SC/ST and Rs. 40,120/- for SPONSORED category as Institute Fee at the time of counselling favouring Registrar, IIT Roorkee, payable at Punjab National Bank, Roorkee Branch (code 4044 or 407), Roorkee only. In the case of sponsored candidates, the payment of fees should be from the sponsoring agencies with a forwarding letter. PD candidate shall pay Institute fees at par i.e. Gen/OBC/SC/ST. At the time of registration, you shall be required to deposit Rs. 14800/- [Rs. 2000/- as Mess admission fee (nonrefundable & will be charged by all candidates), Mess Security of Rs. 2,000/- and Semester Mess Advance of Rs. 10800/- for one semester] by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Chairman, CCB, IIT Roorkee, payable at Roorkee. If you are not offered admission at the time of Counselling as per merit, you may get yourself waitlisted for a programme(s) as per preference given in the application form, by depositing a sum of Rs. 20,120/- for GENERAL/OBC category and Rs. 15,120/- for SC/ST category as waitlist fee by demand draft drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Roorkee, payable at Punjab National Bank, Roorkee Branch (code 4044 or 407), Roorkee only. This amount will be adjusted against Institute Fee, if admission is offered and accepted. In addition, All the candidates have to deposit a sum of Rs.1000/- separately by demand draft drawn in favour of Chairman, PG Admission-2012, IIT Roorkee payable at Punjab National Bank, Roorkee Branch (code 4044 or 407), Roorkee only, towards counselling processing fee. If a candidate declines the offer made within a stipulated time i.e. before the date of registration, notified by Institute, the counselling processing fee will be forfeited and other charges deposited towards Institute Fee etc. will be refunded. In case, the Institute is not in a position to offer admission to a waitlisted candidate, full amount including counselling processing fee will be refunded to the candidate. Your acceptance to join the Institute will be taken as your acceptance to abide by all conditions stated above and also the ordinances/regulations or standing orders issued by the institute authorities from time to time. Non-observance of any of these conditions or rules, regulations, orders etc. can lead to your removal from the institute. The Institute reserves the right to withhold the result / cancel the admission at any time during the stay of a candidate at the Institute, if considered necessary in the interest of the Institute or because of his / her submitting false information/ facts. The Institute reserves the right to alter the number of seats in a PG programme, if considered necessary, without prior notice, and not to run a programme(s) if sufficient candidates are not registered in that programme. It should be noted that you will have to attend the Interview/Written Test and/or Counselling (as applicable) for PG admission at your own expenses. IIT Roorkee will not bear any expense in this regard. It may please be clearly noted that no date(s) other than stated in first paragraph of this letter shall be given for Interview/Written Test/Counselling. Limited unfurnished shared accommodation in student hostels shall be available at nominal charges on first-come-first-served basis during June 03, 2012- June 06, 2012. For allotment of hostel accommodation, you may contact the reception booth at Rajendra Bhawan, Ganga Bhawan and Cautley Bhawan (for males) /Sarojini and Kasturba Bhawan (for females), on arrival at Roorkee. You must have a lock with you for locking the room. Any deficiency in documents, non completion of the qualifying examination in time or non submission of any of the documents by stipulated date will lead to cancellation of admission.
