VTS Internet Client (VIC) with Mobile Internet Browser (MIC)

(Optional Component) Unrestricted Functionality, High Uptime, Less Maintenance
The VTS Internet Client (VIC) allows you to monitor and control your process from anywhere, anytime. Combined with industrystandard Internet security and automatic server failover, the VIC is as reliable as a full-installation VTS client. Version 10.1, introduces the Mobile Internet Client (MIC), an intuitive browser-based tool to help you leverage next generation smart phones and tablets.

Simple Configuration
This stand-alone Internet server requires no additional software. Due to its integration with VTS, configuration is far simpler than rd with 3 -party server products. There is no need to waste time creating duplicate sets of Internet screens as the VIC automatically translates all displays, making them appear on the VTS Internet Client exactly as they do on a full-installation client.

Easy Access from Anywhere

Securely access your VTS application from any Windows computer with network access in two easy ways. 1. Type an address (URL) into Internet Explorer * or click a link in an email (remote use) or 2. Open a small program added to the client computers desk top (internal use).

Each optional license enables one VIC or four MICs Concurrent client licenses can be purchased as needed

Automatic Installation & Upgrades

Upon first connection to the VTS Internet Server, the client workstation automatically downloads and installs an ActiveX component that displays the application screens and data. This component is updated with each subsequent connection to the server. This ensures all VTS Internet Clients are always synchronized. This greatly simplifies upgrades to clients, particularly where all client workstations cannot be readily identified. Push technology updates all clients in real-time. To reduce bandwidth, the server compresses each push which only includes changes in process values and only for pages currently being displayed by clients. Similarly, configuration changes or VTS version upgrades are automatically pushed to each VTS Internet Client the next time they connect.

Functionality Consistent with Thick Clients

The functionality of the VTS Internet Client is almost identical to a full-installation VTS client. All operational monitoring and control is available, as is the capability to make security changes, run reports, view historical data and view & acknowledge alarms. Users can even make tag configuration changes so long as the VTS Internet Server is running on a VTS Full Development license.

Automatic Server Failover

As with all VTS services, automatic server failover is an important factor in ensuring application reliability. This extends to Internet connectivity, whereby a list of backup VTS Internet Servers can be created. In the event the primary Internet Server is unavailable, Internet Clients seamlessly switch to the backup server. All Internet Clients will re-establish connections to the primary Internet Server when it is again available.

Internet Client Monitoring

The VTS Internet Client Monitor tool allows you to monitor active Internet clients. It permits logging of Client activity, messaging to one (or all) users and forcible disconnection for maintenance and security reasons.

Security
Remote access is managed via security permissions, settable through VTS user accounts. These permissions can be granted or revoked at runtime. Changes to security are system-wide and effective immediately. The VIC supports industrystandard Internet security including firewalls, SSL (Secure Socket Layer) and VPN connections. New in 10.1 - Military-grade encryption suitable for top secret files.

Mobile Internet Client (MIC) for Smart Phones and Tablets

New in VTS 10.1 - VTScada has long had the most powerful Internet Client. We are now proud to introduce the simplest way to access your process from smart phones or tablets. This tactile interface allows you to securely view and acknowledge alarms, check levels, plot trends and issue control commands with a touch or pinch. To access the MIC, open a mobile browser, enter the URL used to open the VIC, add /mobile to the end, and log in using your user account. E.g. - http://mydomain/myrealm/mobile
