For a B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering one needs to have high percentage of marks in science subjects in 10 + 2 and should clear the entrance exam of the institute and for an M.Tech program one should have a B.E. or B.Tech in Aerospace engineering (aerospace engineering). For an M.Tech in Aeronautics one needs to have a B.E. or B.Tech in Aeronautics or atleast a diploma in Aeronautical engineering. Another available option is the associate membership exam conducted by the Aeronautical Society of India, clearing which one can apply for an M.Tech or Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering with any of the aeronautical engineering colleges in India. Any student with Physics, chemistry, maths combination in 12th class and a minimum of 50% marks in each subject can appear for the exam conducted by the aeronautics society of India. The exam consists of two sections A and B, and students possessing a B.E. or B.Tech degree are required to appear only for the Section B paper. They are required to clear the principles of flight paper of the Section A. This aerospace engineering exam is held twice a year once in June and then again in December. The students who clear the aeronautics entrance exam are given the certificate of being Associate Member of the Aeronautical Society of India which is considered equivalent to a B.Tech in aeronautical engineering.
