If this hasnt been done correctly, your AZbox HD wont be connected to the PC, i.e. internet. Always test your cables, just in case! When you are using a router, then all the machines we are considering here must have IP addresses in a specific range. How does one do it? On your AZbox HD remote press HOME Settings Internet. There are a few possibilities: wireless (Wi-Fi) and cable (Wired) connections. Both can be setup either automatically (DHCP), or manually (static IP). When you connect AZbox HD with the router (either via cable or wirelessly) activate DHCP in the same Settings menu. It should all be a breeze, stuck on automatic. Most of the time this does work!
5 If not, the first thing you can do is reboot, if necessary, a few times, even. If it still doesnt function, try with a static IP address. Here is an example... See routers Manual first (most of them have it online). You can also do it via your PC, by getting into it via your browser. Enter the routers interface, usually via an IP address of the http://192.168.x.x type, plus admin and admin, as username and password. Have a look here for your IP range. Note the IP address of your PC and assign a different static address to your AZbox HD. Lets say that your routers IP address is 192.168.1.2, the range is up to 192.168.1.254, that PCs IP address is 192.168.1.252. We can assign 192.168.1.251 as a static IP address to AZbox HD, then 255.255.255.0 - Subnet mask, 192.168.1.2 Gateway, 192.168.1.2 DNS1, 0.0.0.0 DNS2. When you do that, go to Start check. You should be connected. If not: reboot and test! I do not own a Premium model, so I cant test the WLAN issues, except state a few things on the level of principles. Its always preferable to cable it up, of course. But sometimes WLAN. is necessary. I can see some people are complaining re. encryption/WLAN security measures of the newer, stronger type, but I can also see the improvement reports, so hopefully... one day
6 Download and put a "patch" [= Image = Firmware = FW], the one you want to programme your AZbox HD with, on your USB memory stick. Then, put the USB memory stick into AZbox HD. Reboot your AZbox HD, either using the power button at the back of the receiver or press the red Power/Standby button on your remote for about 5 seconds. A note: a "patch" [FW] usually comes compressed, i.e. as patch.rar unpack it, using 7zip programme [right click on it Extract here]. Also, once decompressed/unpacked, sometimes one must also rename it, as it comes as patch.sit file, in which case right click on it rename it patch.bin Enter [on your keyboard]. Warning: USB memory stick should be formatted in FAT, FAT32 or ext3 format, NOT NTFS [do not reboot from a USB memory stick or an HDD formatted in NTFS!!!]!!! Thanx to Tinos: You need to remove all partitions [from the USB stick - my edit]. Format with fdisk or macosx to leave only 1 partition. Also, make sure there is no special U3 soft on it.
3) Install the FW
After formatting, install the FW. You will see on the telly which FW you have in your AZbox HD and which FW is on your USB drive. You will be asked if you wish to proceed. Confirm it [OK]. When it's finished [and it takes a while, as FW is big!] and AZbox HD is rebooting - be close to the receiver to do this quickly - take the USB stick out or - if you feel lazy - just use your remote to choose Reboot without update! In that case, when it is up press the USB button on your remote [lower right hand corner] and take the USB memory stick out. You will see a little message on the TV [Eject, I think.].
4) Reset!!!
Now, go to Settings Data Reset and reset to Factory setting [thanx to Tinos for warning me!]. This will wipe out your previous settings, including the channels stuff! Beware! Dont do this if you dont want to cleanse your machine and you want to keep your previous settings!
Choose where the subs will be, their size, colour etc.
9 -Network Service: press the right arrow to get in OK for each option to activate it all! If you dont do it, you wont be able to get into AZbox with Telnet, FTP etc. For reasons of security disable the Telnet Server option, if youre not using it!
-Internet settings, according to your equipment and needs -Audio/Video choose your Video Format, Resolution, Screen etc. One should send a list of channels (consisting of all_channel.dat, antenna_list.dat and DVBS.dat files) into AZbox HD (see below for details; here, I will continue to write about the Settings themselves, first), in order to be able to sort out the dish/LNB settings. So, only when you put in the list of channels, can you sort out the stuff one can find here: TV Channel Tuner A DVB-S Antenna Setup DiSEqC hit the left arrow to get to Combination OK set your xyz amount of LNBs... DiSEqC 1.0 [up to 4 LNBs], DiSEqC 1.1 [up to 64 LNBs]. A bit below is one such setup my toroidal dish with 16 LNBs The following 2 are normally used for motorised setups, when one has only 1 LNB. Then, one usually uses the "Positioner" settings, of course. (DiSEqC 1.0 and 1.1 are normally used when the "Positioner" is set to OFF".) DiSEqC 1.2 for a motorised setup and USALS, the same but automatised, using your Latitude and Longitude (Format: xx.x) TV Channel also has the not-yet-fully-implemented IP Channel option (pass for now).
10
How does one set it up? Well, get into the Combination sub-menu OK set it up for xy LNBs, depending on your setup. So, the winning combination for 8 LNBs + 8in1 MAXIMUM switch, with AZbox HD is:
Sat position 1 = [I reversed the Command Order] Uncommit./Commit. + [Committed DiSEqC] Switch A + [Uncommitted DISEqC] Switch 1 (For Centauri 16in1 switch: change the 1-16 Input = Switch only!!!) Sat position 2 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch B + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 3 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch C + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 4 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch D + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 1 Sat position 5 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch A + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 Sat position 6 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch B + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2
11
Sat position 7 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch C + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2 Sat position 8 = Uncommit./Commit. + Committed DiSEqC Switch D + Uncommitted DISEqC Switch 2
I kept pestering Hugo of Opensat to sort it out properly, as the full DiSEqC v. 1.1 wasnt present in the FW when AZbox HD came out and it paid off!!! The sub-menu looks like this:
So, one can, indeed, put up even more LNBs, some or all of them Twin or Quadro LNBs, each sending 2 or 4 cables into 2 or 4 switches, each of those sending only 1 cable down to the receiver, one per sat TV tuner. That way it will be easy to watch something and record something else.. With the right twin tuner receiver, of course Only AZbox HD Premium+ model is a twin tuner MMC. Elite and Premium models cant actually act as twin tuner receiver, even though we were promised they will, many times I will eventually get myself a proper twin tuner MMC, when the right one arrives (bu not DMM!!!) Not to forget: here are the links to calculate ones position, elevation, central satellite position etc. Choose your language, country, city etc. http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm http://www.dishpointer.com/ http://tinyurl.com/ongfb4 Then, when you have a good enough signal on all the satellites you need, you can scan satellites individually, all together, or maybe transponder by transponder, according to your needs. Those DVB-S "antenna" settings have many options. Do not use the GOGO-list yet! Not ready!!! It may mess up your channel settings! In the meantime, I started preparing for that jolly day: I now have two brand new CANTAURI EMP 16/17in1 switches and www.smart-electronic.de 14 Oxid and 2 Titanium (all twin) LNBs (all 0.1 dB). Here is my Toroidal 90cm dish, plus all of the above:
12
13
14 You may want to re-scan at least your favourite satellite positions, just in case! Use the NIT option, since AZbox HD then searches for connections between transponders/providers and therefore new transponders, which are not yet in various lists that come with FW... Some of the last FWs now have a Scan all frequencies option, which is the so called blindscan function. Elite and Premium models have the SW version of it, while Premium+ model has a tuner that has the HW blindscan option. You will have to give the S/R to search on, though. Try it, especially if you are into hunting feeds on odd satellite positions
15 Drag and drop click on a file or group of files, to choose it/them, then left-click on them and do not let go, drag to the folder in the other machine, let go. You will see if the transfer was successful in the top part of FZ. Sometimes, in AZbox HD, if one cant see a plug-in (on the TV screen, using the remote), after a transfer, one needs to do the CHMOD command to a folder and/or some or maybe the whole of its content. Right click on it File Permissions 755 OK. Reboot and try again.
16 1) Press the HOME button on your remote and go to Plug-ins red button on your remote [= "add plug-in"] edit the links by pressing the blue button on your remote. Do not add more than 4 links! A note: one gets the sign " / " by pressing the CAPS/NUM on your remote a couple of times, then 1 = / etc. etc. Also, use that button to change between the caps, numbers etc. Here are mine: http://azboxworld.com http://techsat.info/AZPlugins http://www.islaremota.com/azp - thanx to the guys from azboxhd.es/foro/foro.php http://www.descargas.azboxhd.es not sure who is behind this one...
An example
Choose the second link and install TechSat_AZK. Use it to get the keys for MultiCAS and MGcamd. CCcam is planned. One can also view which channels they open. Simply find TechSat_AZK and press OK to install it. Get out to Plug-ins, choose it, get the keys Reboot. Go to a channel from the list [like Film 1 or so], to view it 2) HOME button on your remote and go to Plug-ins OpenXCAS Download Executable edit the links (the same goes for Config and Others). http://azboxworld.com http://www.islaremota.com/aza www.satelites.info/azbox/ - thanx to BE-COOL http://techsat.info/AZCamd Now, you're going to get a whole new world of support for AZbox HD, which will, no doubt, grow and grow... Let me show you just one of them, thanx to our Spanish colleagues!
If one hates to use ones remote, one can edit the links via FTP, in the box itself
Edit the file /EMU/plugins.conf [SERVER] PLUGINS_SERVER_1=http://azboxworld.com PLUGINS_SERVER_2=http://techsat.info/AZPlugins PLUGINS_SERVER_3=http://www.islaremota.com/azp PLUGINS_SERVER_4=http://www.descargas.azboxhd.es Edit the file /EMU/OpenXCAS/addons.conf [SERVER] CAMD_SERVER_1=http://azboxworld.com CAMD_SERVER_2=http://www.islaremota.com/aza CAMD_SERVER_3=http://www.satelites.info/azbox/ CAMD_SERVER_4= http://techsat.info/AZPlugins AUTO_MY_SERVER=http://azboxworld.com
18 Btw: GBox [and the SSSP derivatives, like MGcamd and Mbox, for instance], need this to function, for both Client and Server services. If you only use CCcam client service, it is not needed. Also, log into your DynDNS account [on their website], once a week, so they don't delete your account. Sometimes they do it, without any notice! Then, you must repeat the procedure. Let me also mention that there are other similar, gratis services! Just search on the net!
19 How does one get into one's router? Using your browser [like Firefox], of course. You will see the router's interface after putting http://192.168.x.x or so, into the address field of your browser, then your router's username and password, which you will find in the router's documentation. That address, i.e. the DynDNS hostname you just created is always going to be the same, even though your IP address might change every time you logon/get online/boot your PC. Now SAVE all that, APPLY, or ENABLE, whatever is in your Router's interface, so you do not lose all those settings.
20 -UDP or Both Protocols, depending on the CS SW protocol, and -add your IP address, plus tick it at the end, so it is active. {At least that is how it is in mine.} Check your PC's IP address by clicking on the Network Icon in the Systray Support and you'll see it. Occasionally it may change, if you get another device connected to the network, so check it, if CS SW is not working. It looks normally something like 192.168.1.101 or so. One can check it also by going to Start My Network Places View Network Connections click on the active icon the details are in the lower left hand corner. That is, check your AZbox HD IP address as described above... Now, go to the bottom of the page and SAVE/APPLY SETTINGS! If you did it the right way it should all be saved and you will see it the way you want it to be, right in front of you. More on CS a little later, when I'll be writing about specific CS SW in detail, with all the juicy stuff included, like which files exactly and how to edit it etc. Most of it is from my GBox experience!!!
21 Here is exactly how to do it: Activate MultiCAS via HOME Plug-ins OpenXCAS Activate MultiCAS must NOT have # in front of it, which is done by using the blue button, then restart it by pressing the yellow button (then OK) and the OK button (OK again). Sometimes it is necessary to reboot AZbox HD via remote. Press OK when it restarts, then go into TV part of the Menu TV Globo, which should open up very soon... Well, at least it used to. These days it might not be automatic [= AU = autoupdate = autoroll], so dont waste your time. Digi TV on 1'W might also not be AU but both of them are still watchable with our EMU's. So, you might need to put in the relevant active, working key, as they are both encrypted in Nagra2, which is hacked! You can do it via your remote or by using another plug-in.
22 -server to another receiver, sharing your card with another (only another AZbox HD for now) -client and hook onto somebody else's card/server (CCcam and Newcamd). One can now switch off MultiCAS card-reader/server, by using a little file inside MultiCAS, called cardreader.cfg (sign # in front of a line deactivates it, so the value below enables the internal cardreader, as 0 is the active value): # Disable or Enable option for cardreader of MultiCAS # Disable_CardReader = 1 Disable-Internel CardReader / Disable_CardReader = 0 EnableInternel CardReader Disable_CardReader = 0 One can then use another card reader/server SW, like NewCS, for instance, to read a card one might use in the Internal Card Reader. Lets presume that one found a file to install on a hobbyist forum. What exactly does one do? Unpack that file, using 7-zip. Start your FileZilla Client get into AZbox HD and go to Plugins OpenXCAS MultiCAS delete all "example" files, openxcas.conf and multicas emu_module. Put the following files (from the zipped/rared file you got from a forum) into your AZbox HD: -openxcas.conf -new_bis.key -emu_module files Give emu_module CHMOD to 755 as explained above, then reboot. The right version should be showing in AZbox HD MultiCAS menu. If you put various details for CCcam and Newcamd servers into your previous version of MultiCAS, they should all be preserved! One can see which coloured button in that menu loads and which saves your details. If you have not, the easiest way to put them in is by using telesats MultiCASedit PC application. But one can do it all via a remote, too! That makes AZbox HD a very flexible box! Home Plug-ins [etc. etc. as described above] MultiCAS Smart Card Splitter and CS. Now, using your remote, edit the following: -change the Mode to Client CCcam [if, like me, you have no smartcard to play with and share] - you can connect to other people's servers -choose Server No. 1 [when done with the first one, move this one to 2, then 3 etc. - as many as you need, up to 16, I think...]
23 -choose Host Name Use - write something like: something.dyndns.org (whatever the data you get from your server/"peer", for instance somenickname. dyndns. org or whatever your server [= cardgiver or card-sharer] is called like - THIS IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE!!!), -choose the Port - 12000 or whatever it is that your peer tells you to use -Username - whatever it is [you must have a username that normally your peer gives you; he puts it in his server to allow you access to his server] -Password - whatever it is [as above] -Server Enable -Connect - test it [but only AFTER I enabled the one which appears below it, on the TV screen...] It should say "login success"... Repeat for all the servers you have, to check... Red Button = Save. As soon as I wanted to get out of there, using the Exit button on my remote, it first asked me, in a little pop-up window, if I want to login to all my servers now. Press OK, of course. It will connect to your peers aaaaaand.... colours!!! If not, change the channel and then you should see its attempts to connect on-screen. It should connect! If not - reboot and check again... MultiCAS shows you the information, as to which server its trying to hook onto and if it's a success. Speeding up the work of MultiCAS CCcam Client [and CCcam itself etc.] can be done via prio and ignore files, contained in those Emus/CS SW. Find out more on good forums! Heres some cool help in the task: http://www.vdr-wiki.de/wiki/index.php/CAID#CA-ID If you have peers with a Newcamd server, you can connect to a Newcamd server directly and simultaneously!!! Configure it the same way as CCcam Client, using your remote, for instance. Or you can connect to your own, internal NewCS server, if you are using NewCS 1.20 RC13, which can use the AZbox HD's built-in card reader. Other versions need external card-readers, like Smargo. I cannot as yet write anything about Sbox or OScam, two CS SW servers, like NewCS. Apparently Sbox is already really good, with Internal Cardreader supported and response times at around 120ms, if configured properly. Ill write about it when I can, of course... Btw, when you start card-sharing you will find the server details in /tmp file: ccc_serverstatus.info.
24 Inside the MultiCAS folder one will find openxcas.conf file, like in any other plug-in folder. To see the MultiCAS info ON-SCREEN [on your TV], by pressing the ">>" button on your Remote Control Unit [RCU], in a new, small window, open the openxcas.conf and edit it like this: For CCcam server info: [module] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62 INFO = /tmp/ccc_server REFRESH = 5 If you would like to see the CCcam ecm info put: [module] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62 INFO = /tmp/ccc_ecm.info REFRESH = 5 For card list put: [module] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62 INFO = /tmp/ccc_card_list.info REFRESH = 5 For server list put: [module] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62 INFO = /tmp/ccc_serverstatus.info REFRESH = 5 For card reader smartcard info: [module] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62 INFO = /tmp/card_slot.info REFRESH = 5 Whatever one puts after refresh, one gets the data refreshed at such intervals [seconds].
25 Thanx to valerica, sattommy and HighHD for the info! Btw, this might not work (for Mbox, CCcam and MGcamd, for instance, it does!) There are plug-ins to install to your AZbox HD in order to see these details, like Kanber_Kavs MultiCASinfo, in this case. But he also wrote Mboxinfo, MultiMenu for MGcamd and realcccaminfo for CCcam for AZbox HD! Amongst other things! K_K is a real gent!!! More on the plug-ins later
26 # 01 newcamd netclient # 02 radegast netclient # 04 camd3 netclient # 08 gbox netclient # 32 cccamd netclient, card list saved as /tmp/cccamd.info # (ECM only, supported server version up to 2.1.1, later not work) G: { 41 } # network shares priority # 00 gbox, newcamd, cccamd, radegast, camd3 (default) # 01 camd3, radegast, cccamd, gbox, newcamd # 02 cccamd, newcamd, camd3, gbox, radegast P: { 00 } After that, in your AZbox HD, make the mgcamd folder in OpenXCAS folder, give it CHMOD rights to 755, upload all these files into your AZbox HD and CHMOD to 755 the module itself. In EMU/OpenXCAS/mgcamd folder edit the openxcas.conf to add [module] name = mgcamd daemon = mgcamd version = 1.35a # argument = -a 3 api = yes wait = 15sec INFO = /tmp/ecm.info REFRESH = 2 The last two lines allow you to see the ecm info on your TV screen, by pressing the >> button on your remote. Button next to it [>>|] gives one an option to choose an Emu/CS SW. You'll need to edit the newcamd.list in order to add server configuration, if you have a card, so NewCS can read it and open a package, plus send the data to your peers. Activate MGcamd in OpenXCAS Activation and priority setting, then reboot.

28 Here I will only mention that AZbox HD can also work with the Infinity card reader, in Phoenix mode, reading various cards, in conjunction with NewCS, via USB cable, thanx to Zipperolo: I connected Infinity USB Smart in module mode (Phoenix 3.58 MHz module loaded) to the USB port of the AZbox, and NewCS works perfectly with Sky Italy. The problem it showed in initializing NDS2 cards is somewhat related to the internal reader but totally disappears using the Infinity. The decoder automatically loaded the correct driver and assigned the ttyUSB0 device to the external reader. All I had to do was to configure NewCS properly and now it works perfectly with MGcamd as a client: no freezes no nothing, it just works. This was written by Hans on Satdudez: There are more than one Infinity out, smart, unlimited, serial and maybe more. Zipperolos Smart is working with FDTI Driver in AZHD, the Unlimited does not! Most serial Readers should work, too, with USB2serial, but only with Chipset PL-2303 and FTDI, no other are built in yet! More info on good forums One must mention, however, that now, with a newer version of NewCS (v. 1.20), there is no need for Infinity! Just the standard config files included in the old MGcamd & NewCS, with the new binaries and it works. No freezes at all, except sometimes when you open some menu. Very stable combination overall, I'm satisfied. Following PR2's advice, I just added api = yes wait = 15 in MGcamd's openxcas.conf, that's the only "non-standard" setting I use. The newest version (20th August 2009), 1.67 RC1, doesnt work with the AZbox HD internal reader. The bad news is that NewCS is a closed/finished/stopped project, sadly
29 Version that works with internal cardreader is the one from download server 1.20 and new version for external USB2serial is 1.67. Not only that but now we also have OScam, an OpenSource type of collaborative effort of all who are interested and capable, as well as MPCS, reading cards and emulating, i.e. opening everything that is hacked, using keys, not just via CS!
36 Now, create your openxcas.conf, which should look like this, as Mower said [you can create a new one or edit an old one, using a Unix editor, as mentioned above]: [module] name = MboxCAS daemon = mbox_module version = 1.00 Your cwshare.cfg should look like this [this is but a template but all you need to do is just edit the M and G lines at the bottom]. # Mbox cardsharing config file # # CaID #H: { 091F0FF3 } # Send ECM's at maximum 5 cards (please use this as default) X: { 8 } # Preferred cards ids (up to 32) #X+: { 09610000:5 } #X+: { 093B0000:10 } #X+: { 0B000000:5 } # max card's distance to use for ecm I: { 3 } #NDS system -> Resending ECM(s) on timeout interval #N: { 400 200 } N: { 400 200 } #NDS system -> Resending ECM(s) on timeout interval # #4000 (4 seconds)-> resend current ecm on boxid if no dcw #2000 (2 seconds) -> wait 2 more seconds for dcw ,if no dcw on time resend ecm(s) to all boxid's # O: { 4000 2000 } #Connecting to newcamd server program Newcs # M: { my.dyndns.something { mypass}} # G: { mypeer's.dyndns.something { myport hisport { hispass { A3 A3 }}}} G: { mypeer's.dyndns.something { myport hisport { hispass { A3 A3 }}}} Password for Mbox is 8 signs long: letters from A-F and numbers from 1-9. FTP your files to AZbox HD Connect with your AZbox HD, using an FTP client [FilleZilla client]. Put in your AZbox HD IP to the Host box [something like 192.168.x.x], use root as username and azbox [or leave it empty or whatever else you may have changed it into] as password, port 22 [Mbox CC will use port 21] and then click on Quickconnect. Later, you will only need Reconnect, under Server, as FZ will remember the data you put in. Now that you are connected, go to EMU folder click on OpenXCAS folder.
37 In OpenXCAS folder make the MboxCAS folder via FilleZilla FTP Client, [Linux is case sensitive, so be careful when typing]. How do you do it? Here it is: inside the OpenXCAS folder right click on empty space, in order to initiate various options Create directory name it MboxCAS confirm with OK. It should be given the rights, this folder, in order to enable changes in it, so in FilleZilla: right click on MboxCAS folder File permissions 755 OK. Copy [drag and drop] into it: mbox_module, mbox.cfg, cwshare.cfg and port.list [it's not necessary, if you do not have a card and server]. Give the rights [right click on it File permissions 755 OK] to mbox_module only. In your AZbox HD, using your FileZilla Client, find the /EMU/OpenXCAS/ folder [one up from MboxCAS]. In it you should find - and if you haven't got it then create it - a file called module.seq. Edit it. It should look something like this: MboxCAS #mgcamd #MultiCAS #newcs #...and so on, depends on what you have installed in your AZbox HD... Also, right click on it File permissions 755 OK. That's it!!! At this point, we need no other "scripts" [files], says Mower! According to Mower's advice all you now need to do is to try to start the Mbox module, using Telnet [PuTTy or some such proggy], to make sure the module will start and there are no errors. So, start the PuTTy.exe by double clicking on it, log in with root as username [hit Enter on your keyboard], azbox as password [Enter], then, the following 3 commands [Copy & Paste and hit Enter for each], to kick-start Mbox and you'll see the traffic/log/what's going on... cd /EMU/OpenXCAS/MboxCAS/ chmod 755 mbox_module ./mbox_module If it isn't working I would advise you to REBOOT, then try the Telnet thing again. It should all be working just fine now...
38 Save it as mbox.sh and put it into the MboxCAS folder, CHMOD rights to 755, reboot and restart Mbox, if needed. Some think this is not only unnecessary but also counter-productive... If everything isn't working well enough, you can then try to add to MboxCAS folder [to improve the way it's working]: mbox.prio, allow and ignore.list files. In my OpenXCAS folder I have one more openxcas.conf which I will explain a little later. Thanx to Ribolovac from EX-YU forum [my translation and edit]: Let me add, re. the C lines: C lines are, in fact, the connections to the NewCS server, either from your local NewCS (local cards) placed in the AZbox HD or from other boxes. But what I really wanted to mention is the following: if you want your peer to see the smartcard you own (and read via NewCS) as a local card, then your C line in cwshare file must start with a local IP, i.e. 127.0.0.1. In any other case, like DNS or an IP address, like 192.168.xxx.xxx, the card won't be seen as local, provided that the card is in your box, which has installed both Mbox and NewCS. Thanx to Playdiune [my edit and additions]: Normal use of mbox: 0- mbox_module 1- cwshare.cfg 2- mbox.cfg With local cards: 1- port.list ( newcs and mpcs connection ) 2- device_number.list ( direct cards ) Optional: 1- ident.info - used to know a providers name 2- ignore.list - used to ignore some providers and allow all the others 3- allow.list allow certain providers 4- prio.list - prioritise some cards over others, in a certain sequence
39 function, without one having to go through setting it all up, every time from scratch. And this is quite useful, as it takes a bit of time. I am about to describe all of the steps needed...
Settings
Start MCC: in the Settings tab choose a language and give the profile a name. Then, write the IP address of your Sat TV box, so your MCC [which you just installed to your PC] can make contact with Mbox installed in your Sat TV receiver! One can check it in one's sat TV box by going to HOME Settings Internet part, using your remote. Put in the path to your Mbox files. In AZbox HD files are in the same folder: Username: root Password: azbox [unless you changed it or there was nothing there to, begin with] Mbox Filename: Mbox IP address: 192.168.x.xxx [whatever is in your setup] Path-Mbox: /EMU/OpenXCAS/MboxCAS/ Path-Keys: /EMU/OpenXCAS/MboxCAS/ Path-Temp: /tmp Path-Mbox.cfg: /EMU/OpenXCAS/MboxCAS/mbox.cfg You will be able to edit mbox.cfg, and cwshare.cfg, for instance, from within MCC itself, while Mbox is in operation, once you set it up properly. We shall come to that later. I have ticked the Passive FTP option. Save!

However, I bet there are some non-IT people on this forum, who are not too familiar with Linux etc. I bet a few will need some simple, straightforward, detailed and more or less step-by-step advice, how to use the complete package that Kanber_Kav put up. So, how I did it: Following The_Ripper's great work and advice, I used K_K's version of T_R's files, and I installed the package like so... I downloaded cccam-azbox-2.1.1 [= "emu.rar"] archive from K_K's post. I decompressed it (right click on it [7zip Extract here]). I got EMU folder and 2 sub-folders: -libs -OpenXCAS I went into the libs folder and edited CCcam.cfg to put the details of my peer's server, as advised in the file itself [added this line under #C: line in the file]: C: peer.DynDNS.something port username password I went into OpenXCAS folder and edited the following files [in order to make them correspond to what I have in my AZbox HD, so you need to do the same in accordance with your setup]: -module.seq [this one is a must, depending on what you have in your machine - here is mine] #mgcamd #MultiCAS #MboxCAS #SboxCAS dvbapiCAS -openxcas.conf [I am told this one isn't a must but I did it anyway...] [modules] count = 5 active_auto = true active_1 = MboxCAS active_2 = MultiCAS active_3 = mgcamd active_4 = SboxCAS active_5 = dvbapiCAS [module_1] ap= Yes name = MboxCAS daemon = mbox_module wait=5 sec version = 0.6_10

[module_2] name = MultiCAS daemon = emu_module version = 1.62D-A03 [module_3] name = mgcamd daemon = mgcamd version = 1.35a # argument = -a 3 [module_4] name = SboxCAS daemon = sbox version = 0.0.4-7 xcasapi = FALSE [module_5] name = dvbapiCAS daemon = dvbapi.sh version = 1.00 api=No wait =5sec I used FileZilla Client to FTP it to my AZbox HD receiver and copied the lib folder into the folder EMU, then went into it and gave rights, i.e. CHMOD 755 to all the files inside. Then, I copied the content of the OpenXCAS folder from my HDD to the AZbox HD OpenXCAS folder. I went into the folder itself and gave CHMOD to 755 to the module and .sh file. I didn't even have to reboot: I just restarted all the EMUs [via the Fast Forward button yellow button OK], then the dvbapiCAS with the OK button OK. It worked!
43 even more capable and user friendly!!! We wanna see DMM blown out of the water, as it were... hehe... Good luck!!!
8) Additionally:
Additional plug-ins and how to deal with them
There are quite a few now. Ill only mention a few, mainly the ones helping with the EMUs/CS SW. The principles of installation and usage will easily be seen on those examples. One can: -install them from the net, directly into the AZbox HD or -download them onto your PC and then into your AZbox HD. If the former is the case its dead easy, even my dead granny could do it, as described/made clear above, on numerous pieces of SW! If the latter is the case, there are two ways. Let me explain the first possibility on the tevee4yu plug-in, by Chemstar. Unpack, put/FTP the 2 files you get into /tmp folder of your AZbox HD HOME Plug-ins OpenXCAS Red button Install (tmp/plugins.lst) OK tevee4yu OK when installed hit the Exit button go to tevee4yu OK. Use numbers 1 - 7 on your remote to move between packages. Use buttons Menu and Check on your remote to move within packages. Use arrows > & < to move up and down within a channel... Mboxinfo and similar plug-ins by Kanber_Kav (and other enthusiast programmers) are all installed the same way. For instance: download mboxinfo.tar.gz by Kanber_Kav, from Satdudez extract it to AZbox HD folder /tmp; you will get two files (mboxinfo.plugin & plugins.lst) HOME Plugins red button to install mboxinfo. Alternatively, place it on USB memory stick extract go to plug-ins red button Install (USB). We now have Web Interface PHP [httpd for shorter], developed first by Joseba [non PHP] and then by Kiovo [the PHP version], with many options, ever more tools and toys. Here is the "How to" (its a little bit more complex but if you persevere you will succeed!):
44 0) If you had installed an earlier version - delete it and reboot!!! If you have many plug-ins installed you will have to uninstall some stuff to make some space for httpd, as it is big and the space for EMUs [where httpd is going to] is rather limited!!! 1) Unpack httpd [right click on it 7-zip Extract here]. 2) Start FileZilla create httpd sub-folder in EMU folder [right click on Emu folder Create Directory] and make sure it has "the rights" = CHMOD it to 755, if by a miracle it isn't already 755 [right click on it File Attributes 755 OK]. 3) Drag & drop the whole content of httpd folder [you got by extracting it onto your HDD] into the newly created httpd folder in your AZbox HD. 4) This might not be needed for anything except the thttpd file but I did it anyway: CHMOD to every folder and file in httpd folder and also inside the azscripts sub-folder [including the monkus sub-folder and its content] CHMOD to 755 all of them [until I learn better, hehe...] 5) In the folder include you will find the file ip.conf right click on it View/Edit [I connected it with UE32, you can choose another Unix editor, like Notepad2] edit the IP address to put in AZbox HD IP address, like 192.168.x.xxx Save! 6) Do the same for telnet.conf file but don't Save it yet! 7) If you have azbox as your password, then in the same file remove # in front of the following line, so it looks like this: Script.script=login:|root|Password:|azbox|MMP[~]$ |df h In that case, put the # sign in front of the following line, to look like this: #Script.script=login:|root|MMP[~]$ |df h If you have no password - it's the other way round. If you changed your password - edit the password ["azbox"] itself. Then Save! 8) I did the same thing in iperf.conf file [steps 5 & 7]! 9) Reboot! 10) Start PuTTy write root for Login and hit Enter button on your keyboard, then azbox for password [if you have it or whatever you may have changed it into] and Enter then cd /EMU/httpd and Enter, then ./httpd and hit Enter. Here is the whole thing, to see what it looks like: MMP login: root Password: MMP[~]$ cd /EMU/httpd MMP[httpd]$ ./httpd
45 This will trigger the following: kill AZBox webinterface killall: thttpd: no process killed killed start AZBox webinterface You can now close PuTTy. 11) Start Firefox and in the address box put in the AZbox HD address and hit Enter. Like, http://192.168.x.xxx - where x = your AZbox HD IP address. 12) In your Firefox you will see AZbox Tools, on your left side, in the lower corner click on it if you want for the httpd plug-in to Auto-start click on Enable Webinterface Autostart! You will see this, then: generate startscript cp /EMU/httpd/S80httpd /DISK2/etc/start.d/ chmod 755 /DISK2/etc/start.d/S80httpd AZBox Webinterface now starts whenever the AZbox HD restarts! P.S. With this version I cannot stream any live TV to my PC yet. Screenshot capture doesn't work if you are watching something from your USB memory stick or HDD, for instance. Or for Live TV, if you do not have a USB memory stick or HDD connected to your AZbox HD etc. However, it's getting better and better. You will eventually be able to programme your machine to record something from work, never leaving your desk, for instance...
46
47 The same for Music find your music or Photos find them [as I said, not all will work, as there are some limitations they need to stop stretching our photos, too...].
INSTEAD OF CONCLUSION
Sigma processor, its driver and AZbox HD owners' blues...
Hugo of Opensat chose both the HW and the company to tie it all up nicely. Logics suggests he should take not only the credit, for whatever was done well but also the blame for whatever was poor or worse, even when others were to blame directly for not living up to their part of the bargain!
49 Later they pretended, like spoilt brats, they never advertised their product as twin tuner, only as combo. Ergo, no balls to take responsibility for their own choices: promised and then I am seriously disappointed by such poor, silly and even offensive conduct! Sigmas support was lacking in other areas, as well!
Promises, promises for a very long time now but what are the results???
Even though we have a new chief programmer for a while now but we have yet to see any real improvements worth applause!!! Geeko apparently has plenty of experience from Enigma projects but he failed to bring in any fresh approach and creative impulse, at least in any measurable, efficient manner. The end is nowhere nearer now than before he arrived, sadly! Frankly, I have never seen such an angry official forum and I have been around for a while now OS customers do no longer choose their words carefully and I think OS should be afraid

P.S. Allegedly, we should see the first version of Enigma2 for AZbug HD this weekend. Well, if they cant fix it forge it!!!
