Crime Science is a stringently peer-reviewed, fully-open access journal, published by Springer as part of the SpringerOpen range of fully-open access journals. Aims & Scope

Crime Science is an international, interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal, with an applied focus. The journals main focus is research articles and systematic reviews that reflect the growing cooperation of a variety of fields, including environmental criminology, economics, engineering, geography, public health, psychology, statistics, and urban planning, on improving the detection, prevention, and understanding of all forms of crime and disorder, including cyber-crime and terrorism. Crime Science will also publish theoretical articles that are relevant to the field, for example, approaches that integrate theories from different disciplines. The goal of the journal is to broaden the scientific base for the understanding, analysis, and control of crime and disorder. It is aimed at researchers, practitioners and policy-makers with an interest in crime reduction. It will also publish short contributions on timely topics including crime patterns, technological advances for detection and prevention, and analytical techniques, and on the crime reduction applications of research from a wide range of fields.

Article Types
Research articles: focused reports of data from original Short contributions: short, focused and opinion articles empirical research. These articles will form the of contemporary interest flagging new crime patterns, majority of content for the journal. trends, crime prevention methods, analytic techniques. Systematic reviews: reviews of the literature focusing on the effectiveness of technologies and policies aiming to prevent specific forms of crime and disorder. Theoretical articles: these articles should renew the theoretical debate in the field of Crime Science and show how theory is related to practice.
