Before you will do anything please create a set of recovery discs. Resources : Using HP Backup and Recovery Manager in Vista Using HP Recovery Manager in Windows 7 All pre -installed drivers and software of your current system are in C: \swsetup folder . If you still have it on HDD then burn this folder to CD /DVD. You may need them someday. If you haven' t got now any system on your notebook / netbook then skip two above advice . Links to SATA drivers are included in pdf and doc files of this guide.

Install CPU- Z in your current system. You may download this program from here. Below screenshot shows where you will find links to this software on CPU -Z home page.

You will find there two important informations about your chipset: brand (in above examples : Intel) and type (in above examples: PM965 and HM55).

If you've got few Intel models and you want to use only one installation disc for all of them then:
You need to slipstream Intel SATA drivers with nLite . Here is doc file with guide ' How to slipstream all Intel SATA drivers with XP ' (use Microsoft Office or Open Office (free software) to open it). Here is pdf file with the same guide ( use Adobe Acrobat Reader ( free software ) to open it).
If you've got only one Intel model then you may want to slipstream only specific driver:
For models with HM65, HM67, UM67, QS67 or QM67 chipset:
You need to slipstream SATA driver ( only Mobile

For models with ION or ION LE chipset (HP Mini 311 and Compaq Mini 311c series models):
You need to slipstream SATA drivers with nLite. Here is doc file with guide ' How to slipstream Nvidia SATA drivers with XP ' (use Microsoft Office or Open Office (free software) to open it). Here is pdf file with the same guide ( use Adobe Acrobat Reader ( free software ) to open it).
When you will find out then your XP copy is with SP0 or SP1 use below documents to check how you may slipstream SP2 with it: Here is doc file with guide ' How to slipstream SP ( Service Pack) with XP ' (use Microsoft Office or Open Office (free) to open it). When AMD SATA drivers which are given in guide will not work for you then start ' New Post ' on our forum to ask for other Sata drivers. Resource: How To Make A Post - Video Please write in this new topic three important informations :
1 . That you used 32bit_ ATI_ SB7xx _RAID &AHCI _driver _v 9 -4_ WHQL and sp43839 SATA driver. 2 . Notebook p roduct numer ( p/n).

How to find them? Go to: Control Panel -> Device Manager -> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers find on the list SATA AHCI Controller, click on it with right button of your mouse and choose properties. Next select ' Details ' tab and use
