Chapter 1 Brief Introduction

1.1 Overview

The series of Video Server , an expert designment for coding and decoding the audio &video frequency, are excogitated by our company to satisfy the requirements of our clients, for transmitting the figured audio& video clear across long distance. On the purpose of supplying the client an expert valuable solution on the IP video technology field, we have fully considered the requirements of remote surveillance with integrating our advantages on the audio &video technology and the advanced IT technology. Digital Surveillance Center could control numbers of servers at the same time on the client end, it runs normally under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. The software has a compact interface, users can operate it easily, it also could be upgraded and controlled through telenet, this function is a facility for the project dealer and users to debug and operate..
1.2 Function Introduction

1.3 Install Operation

1. Hardware installation, re. to the installation manual. If your operating system is Windows2000 or Windows XP: 2. Open the NV software in the attached disk, click TMNVclient.exe to install the software at client end; 3. When finished the installation, the icon will be established on the
desktop, dblclick it then enter the Digital Surveillance Center.

Chapter 2 Interface Introduction

2.1 Main Interface
Open Digital Surveillance Center, there will be a login dialog:

pressLogin if the information is correct, the system will start up, otherwise, you need to input : the right one. Note: The first login username and password are empty, press Login directly to start up, enter Change Password to change the name and password of the administrator or the operator; The name and password can be set empty.

Chapter3 Real-time SurveillanceReal-time Snapshot

3.1 Real-time Surveillance
Choose the right channels for surveillance, press X-channel button and it turns orange. For example, choose 4 channels Press ,

If the IP address of NV server you wanted is not in the panel, press the right key of mouse at Net,select Refresh,if its still unseeing, please check the connection and settings between the servers and Digital Surveillance Center.

Login server, system will pop-up a login dialog:
Input the username and password (the one of the server login or administrators), system provide three connect methods: TCPUDPMulticast data transfer(Connect in SDK). All the running channels will be list on the Net Select Panel. Dblclick the observing channel or press the right key of mouse atChannel X,choose the controlling menu:

3.2 Real-time Snapshot:

Used for intercepting and saving the real-time pictures. First press the image channel, make it arranged, choose Snapshotbutton (or press the right key of the mouse at the
channel to select snapshot), the captured picture will be saved at the preset storage directory (relevant settings will be mentioned below), the size of intercepted image: 704*576, suffix: JPG.

Chapter 4 Local Record and Playback

4.1 How to startstop Local Record
Video transmitted to the client server via network, the user can record the video and save it at local hard disk for view afterwards. First, press button, system pop-up the below dialog:
Select the record channel, the button will turn green, and on the top right corner of the chose channel there will be a greentwinkling dot, that means the record has began, system will save the record file at the defined local record disk (relevant settings will be mentioned below) , press the button again, it turns blue and stop the record, the file saved as ASF format.
4.2 How to playback the record file:

Before play make sure the DivX or other MPEG-4 insert has been installed, the install program contained in the attached disk with the equipments. Press Play button system pop-up the dialog:
The player supports four channels playing at the same time, choose the button on the down left corner to control the playback channel.

Chapter 5 Camera Lens Control

Realize the remote control of external equipment such as camera lens etc.

First make sure the peripheral equipments are linked correctly, the terminal settings are all right, choose one of the sixteen channels for control, no matter the local server is in

single channel or sixteen channels mode, once its under selection, you can control the vidicon through the external control button to carry out the operation like Up Down Left Right AutoLightWiperPresetRecallCamera lens(IrisFocusZoom) regulation. Switch of Auto Light Wiper: the left key for open, right one for stop. Its possible the right one is open, left is stop, as part of the decoder receive command differently. Please operate according to the locale fact. Preset Recall: Press preset or recall, fig. input will appear under the button, type in the right settings, press Presetor Recallagain to take effect. Note: The precondition of the peripheral control is that the decoder must support the deferent command. As the delay of data transmission on the network, the control impact may not reflect immediately on the Digital Surveillance Center, the users may use single mouse key to operate in order to get better impact.
Chapter 6 Audio Talkback

Realize tekecommunications between servers. Press pop-up the dialog: Audio talkback, system

Choose the desired server in the server list, pressAccept start the call, also you can to choose Rejectto refuse. If chooseRecord when started the call, pressPlay playback the recorded speech to content. Choose one of the server in the list, for example: 192.168.1.32, press Talkto start the call or press Stop to stop it, in the meanwhile you can choose another server like192.168.1.22 to go along the call, thus realize carrying out the call with numbers of servers at the same time.
Chapter 7 Local Setup

7.1 Common setup

Press Local setup, system pop-up the dialog:
Local record diskChoose the hard disk to save the captured images and record files. User and PasswordThe name and password of the administrator and operator can be changed. Environment Function as below:Pre-record Auto Reconnect Alarm Record Sound alarmAuto Logon Client Pre-record Choose pre-record for 30s (5-60s for selection ), system will record the content for 30 seconds before the time to start. Auto ReconnectWhen the signal of the channel break off because of some occurrent reason, system will reconnect automatically by itself. Alarm RecordWhen the alarm events happen, system will record the content for 180 seconds (30-600S for selection) Record Size Set the manner of establish the record file at the defined directory, according to the time or the file size. Server ManageIf the IP address of the expected server cant be found at the menu of network connection, pressadd:

Enable Auto Logon You can select the preview channel number of the server, enter the name and password of the user, the next login you neednt to input them again.
7.2 Local Picture View:

Preview the local pictures. PressLocal Picture View, system pop-up the dialog

7.3 Channel Switch

Realize the channel switch at the client end. PressChannel switchsystem pop-up the dialog

ChooseShow Auto Logon Dialog, client end channel NO.01(01-16 for selection), Switch Interval:10 S (5-30S for selection), press the IP address of the server: 192.168. 55.88, select the channel, press OK, the signal of the selected channels will switch to each other circularly with10S interval at channel01.
7.4 Video Switch On Group

Grouping the channels, the preview pictures can be switched between the groups. Press Video Switch On Groupsystem pop-up the dialog

Group NameName the group, the group can be addmodify and delete. Channel Setup Each group may has 16 channels at most, press Set system pop-up , the dialog:
Select the expected server and channel, then confirm. Press
Group switch
again, choose the wanted group, the preview image will switch to each group.
7.5 On Time Record

Set the record on time automatically. PressOn Time Recordsystem pop-up the dialog

Task SetupOnly support the servers which enable auto logon, select in the menu, the servers can be set atCommon Setup Server Manage or change the property of , the servers at the Net Select Panel; Choose the channel NO. to record.
Begin TimeandStop TimeUse Frequencycan be set. When there was no free channel, choose Enable Close Other Channel that is: when all the channels are open, system will close a channel which is not on the recording automatically, in order to carry out another working channel.
When all the settings are finished, press Add Task , the task can be changed and deleted.
7.6 Decode Setup

Record

ConnectSelect the back connect and set the listen port, thus the linkage will be
send from server to the client end.

Alarm Info.When the alarm events happen, system pop-up the dialog about the

8.1 Video Setup

Set the items to change the mode and quality of the preview pictures. Press Video Setupsystem pop-up the dialog
Video Media Parameters:

ModeSelect the mode of video stream: PAL or NTSC. Image Size Regulate the definition of transmitting image, the resolving rate is higher the
image is more clear. Choose PAL mode, definition of D1:704*576/ Half D1:704*288/Cif : 352*288/QCif : 186*144. Choose NTSC mode, definition of D1:704*480/Half D1:704*240/Cif: 352*240/QCif : 186*120.
Frame rateThe frame quantity of transmitted image in one second, PAL mode: 1-25
frames for selection (NTSC mode:1-30 frames for selection). When the bandwidth is limited, reduce the frame rate properly can get a smooth image, but low frame rate will cause a desultory preview. Key Frame IntervalThe frame quantity between two key frames. Max. Quantizationmax. coefficient of the image quality when coding, suggested use

the default. Min. Quantizationmin. coefficient of the image quality when coding, the quality of image is decided by quanta coefficient, the quanta coefficient is smaller the image is more clear, the min. value is 2. Stream RateThe transmission speed of data stream when linked with the network, the value is higher the image is more clear, but engrossed bandwidth will increase at the same time. Set it according to the actual bandwidth. Audio EncodeEncode the audio frequency. Color Control Regulate the parameters of input video, left end is min. value, right end is max. value, drag with the mouse, press Default, the settings will recover to the default.
8.2 OSD
Show the letters or covering area on top of the preview picture. PressOSDsystem pop-up the dialog

Show Info. Setup Select the function by input to , otherwise close the corresponding function. Three options: Date Time and Channel Description, date and time showed at up left corner of the preview, the description showed at down right corner. Enable Logo BrowseUpload the logo picture. PositionAdjust the location of the logo picture on the preview.
Video Covering Set Set the area, then press OK, the mask will be show on the preview at the corresponding location. You can enter the Video Covering Setagain and press Cancel, the covering will be cleared.

8.3 Video Alarm

Set the video alarm of the current preview channel. Press Video Alarm system pop-up the dialog
Motion Detect System detects whether there are mobiles exist in current preview, set the alarm output, the mobile within the sensitivity detection will spring the alarm. Auto SnapshotWhen the alarm events happen, system will send the captured images to the defined client end automatically, IP address of the client server set at Network

Setup. Time Zone SetupInput the detail value according to the fact, system just starts the detection within the defined time zone. Alarm OutputSystem provide three channels to select the switch, users can link with electronic bell alarm light alarm call etc., when the alarm happens, system will output the switch to the peripheral equipment. Alarm Duration The alarm continues until this time then clear the output automatically. Detect AreaSet the detecting area of dynamic image (Each image divided into 9 rows and 11 lines, the 99 parts could be set separately), undefined area will out of detection, . the red area shows Detecting area. SensitivitySensitivity to the mobiles, the degree is smaller the system will be more sensitive, 1 is the top, default degree is 5. Video Lost Alarm Alarm occurs when the system has detect the video lost, the time zone and output parameters can be set;
8.4 Sensor Setup

Set the condition of sensor alarm. PressSensor setupsystem pop-up the dialog

First choose the expected Sensor ID NO., system provide three imports; If the sensor has been cut off, system will send alarm notice to the client end once every 30 seconds. Sensor NameDescribe the Sensor to let its easy to be make out, such as gate electricity distribution room etc.. Time SetupInput the detail value according to the fact, system just starts the detection within the defined time zone. Alarm Duration The alarm continues until this time then clear the output automatically. Auto Snapshot When the moving event happens, system will send the captured images to the defined client end automatically, IP address of the client server set at Network Setup. Snapshot ChannelAfter startup the Sensor alarm, select the channel to capture the images. PTZ Position SetupWhen the Sensor alarm happens, system will turn the globe vidicon to the defined position automatically, the vidicon must support the preset location, and the location must be set on the main interface in advance. Alarm OutputSystem provide three channels to select the switch, you can link with electronic bell alarm light alarm call etc., when the alarm happens, system will output the switch to the peripheral equipment.

8.5 PTZ setup

Set the relevant items of PTZ. PressPTZ setupsystem pop-up the dialog
PTZ Protocol Setup Choose the protocol opposite to the decoder. Set the PTZ address and preset location. Show the current protocol and baud rate. Set the speed of the PTZ. The address of the decoder and channel NO. must opposite one by one. Upload Protocol System supports transparent channel control, before that the well-edit protocol must be load, ask the project dealer for the protocol.
8.6 Alarm Log

Show the current alarm info. PressAlarm Logsystem pop-up the dialog

IP Address The only identification of the video server on the network, ask the
administrator for the relevant parameters, illegal or conflicting IP info. may cause a linkage failure. System will send ARP data fold at times to avoid the failure.
Subnet MaskGatewayAsk the administrator for the info.. Web PortThe mapping port NO. used when remote visiting the web-page browser,
if the setting changed, the next login needs to input: http:// IP address: Web port;
CMD PortThe defined mapping port NO. of transmitting data; Talkback IPThe IP address of the client server which receiving the talkback request
from the host server.

Auto Snapshot IPAfter the host server has detected the alarm event, system
will upload the captured images to the receiver opposite the IP address automatically.
Server NameThe name of the host server on the network, as the computer name; Server Online Notify System will send a notice to the defined server after the host
server starts up, the port NO. of the receiver and the time interval can be set. System has a function of searching the IP addresses: open the NV Tools locating in the attached disk, click Search Servers, all the servers in the same LAN and relevant information will be collected, including the server name type address IP CMD port WEB port channel number version MAC address DSP frequency gateway user number opening channel number channel state alarm output state, see the below chart:

8.8 Advanced Setup

PressAdvanced setupsystem pop-up the dialog
Server Time SetupThe system time of video server and host server can be calibrated, after confirm the time of the host server, pressSave the video server will work with this , time. Update Server Parameter Press Save all your change will be saved to the FLASH, ,

otherwise, when restart after power off, system will recover to the last settings. Password Setup The password of administrator user guest can be changed, only the administrator has the right; Server UpdatePress Browse to select the upgrade program, press Update, system will upgrade to the new version, laypeople are forbid to use; Reset to DefaultRecover to the default settings when leaving the factory, except the network settings and password. The item at the down left corner is the version info.

Frequently asked questions:
1 Unable to visit the video server with the browser

Possible reason: The network hasnt been connected? Solution: Link with PC to test whether the network is working, first eliminate the wire fault, then the network fault cause by the PC virus, until the PC can Ping connect with each other. Possible reason: The IP address has been used by the other equipment? Solution: Disconnect the video server and the network, connect the video server with PC, reset the IP address according to the commend operation. Possible reason: The IP addresses locate at different subnets? Solution: Check the IP address and the subnet mask address, the settings of the gateway. Possible reason: The web port has been changed? Solution: Ask the administrator for relevant port info.. Possible reason: Unknown Solution: Press the restore button behind the server to resume the default settings, reconnect, default IP address: 192.168.55.78subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 2 Camera lens cant be controlled Possible reason: The transmission cable hasnt been connected or connected incorrectly. Solution: Reconnect the control line of the server to the PTZ or globe vidicon. 3 Cant preview the image normally Possible reason: The operating system is Windows 98.. Solution: Install DirectX8.0 or higher version. 4 Cant playback the record file with Mediaplayer. Solution: Download and Install DivX uniform decoder.
