HISTORY OF TIN TAM LAKE NH

It remains as a famous beauty spo of Hue, used to be praised in ot poetry. The lake was once a part o Ky Te lake. In 1824, Minh Mang of Emperor changed the lake into a p place of sightseeing and spiritual convalescence. There are 3 islets in the lake including Bong Lai, Doan Chau and Phuong Truong, which w were named after those in legends.

Lotus grows in the lake and its ma agnificent fragrance and color linger in summer. Legends have it that k kings and mandarins came to this place to relax and drink tea scented with lotus from the lake. Hue is l t l dd i kt ted ith l t f th l k H i famous for its lotus products, esp pecially Tinh Tam lotus. Today, Tinh Tam lake belongs to the locality of Thuan Thanh and Thuan Loc g y f precincts.

Tinh Tam lake is 500m north of the Imperial Enclosure In the middle o e Enclosure. the lake are two small islands con nnected by bridges. The emperors used to come here to relax. Tinh T Tam lake is famous of its special lotu called Bach Hop lotus. ll d B h H l t
