Company Description UNILEVER is a transnational company that manufactures imports and sales products for different use: home care, personal care and food such as powders (OMO), shampoo (Sedal) and cold sauces (Hellmanns). Like the Systems viewpoint the company uses the model (Input, Throughput, Output, and Feedback) for the processes of manufacture, import and sale. Input: The company uses different tools like, sales and manufacture estimate, information for the production and importation, buys raw and packing material for manufacturing activities, hires people for indirect activities (managers, assistant managers) and direct ones (plant workers), and finally uses technology on processes. Throughput: Using all the tools described in the Input, the company produces powder, dish wash, shampoo and hard soups. Buys material, finished goods and finally sales these products. Output: The Company achieves to the finished product, bought or manufactured product ready for sale, and gets net sales; also gets cash flow for investment on brand activation. Feedback: The Company checks the plant, production and the operations weariness, using the diary sale reports (net proceed of sales), each month an analysis of the company indicators is done (like the gross profit and the gross margin). Scientific Management: The Scientific Management is destined to make a scientific study of the production taking parameters like time and motion. UNILEVER makes lots of reports for a making of a study of the production and an estimation of the production of the next year, all in order to use different methods to raise the production.

Human Relation Management: The Human Relation Management is focused on the scientific research to increase productivity. UNILEVER is working on some projects to raise the productivity, working on ergonomic issues, and they are working on a transformation plan to change the peoples behavior. Quality Viewpoint: The Quality Viewpoint is focused on the designer viewpoint about the quality of the product and the costumers viewpoint about it. In this factor UNILEVER sends from an Investigation Center the quality investigation done for the product, using the costumer viewpoint and the designer viewpoint. For example, the powder is analyzed looking the costumers needs (if the powder doesnt hurt the skin, doesnt no consume the clothes, is cheap, etc) and checks the designer viewpoint (costumers satisfaction, washes the clothes, the packing quality, etc).
