Dear Fans of Folk Music! I represent you Georgian folk ensemble TAMARISI with three generation School pupils, young graduates of school and adults of various professions. We have an interesting show program with live folklore instrumental music and song and would like to take part in the popular folk music festivals and other music events that have following opportunities:

Full or partial funding for participation; Prizes for the winners or fees; Ability to meet there the best music producers and other music authorities to establish business contacts.

In accordance with this we have some questions:

Have you interest to Ensemble TAMARISI? In case of your interest how it is possible to perform our show program in your country? What benefit our group can have from participation in your festivals or other musical events?

For example, if you can arrange for Tamarisi commercial gigs in your area, we will participate with pleasure in them. Also we can consider our participation in partly charitable concerts for socially helpless groups in your area. We can also think about the exchange of master classes for the preparation of a joint program to give concerts, and then write it in the music recording studio or radio station. As you can see, there are many options for cooperation, and we can choose the best one. Characterization of the ensemble Tamarisi

The Ensemble Tamarisi was founded in Rustavi, in 1999 on the base of the 2 nd musical school named after O. Taktakishvili (now The Folk School of Rustavi). The Eensemble consists of three groups according to generations: School pupils, young graduates and adults of various professions. Tamarisi is distinctly distinguished among of Georgian folk-instrumental groups. The Eensemble repertoire includes the most interesting and rather complex models of Georgian and Caucasian folk music. The high level of musical performance technology, good experience in the musical arrangement / interpretation of authentic folk songs and tunes, which actually means the transformation of authentic folk songs and tunes into new compositions, and elements of choreography of performances are the main quality of Ensemble "Tamarisi". Mostly folk, also, jazz, classical and contemporary urban musics are the sources of Tamarisi music. Some works of Tamarisi are rich of new colors. Listening of these works of Tamarisi I feel that the old tunes get a new life, and disappears the distance between the epochs. That is why there is a desire sometimes to call "Tamarisi not a "folk but the "Georgian National Ensemble". The Ensemble is awarded many times in various festivals and competitions. Among the awards is the Grand Prize - Gold Medal and Title of Laureate.

The success of the Ensemble "Tamarisi" achieved by dint of the ensemble art manager Tamar Zarqua, which actually is an experienced singer, a wonderful teacher and musician-instrumentalist. She graduated from music school in choral conducting in the city of Rustavi, and then the folklore section of Tbilisi Academy of Arts named after Medea Faniashvili. Tamar Zarqua got the great experience in the Folk Ensemble "Kelaptari", existed under the Georgian Public TV, as well as in the Female Ensemble of "Mapshalia", existed under the Ministry of Culture of Abkhazia. Now Tamar teaches at Folklore School of Rustavi, in addition at Parish School named after Mtatsmindeli George Tamar and many members of her ensemble are the singers (chanters) of Thirteen Assyrian Holy Father's Chapel House in Rustavi. Tamarisi often organizes charitable concerts in Tbilisi, Rustavi and other populated places of Georgia. Now "Tamarisi" has a great interest in music of the peoples of the Caucasus and around the world. Last successful activities of the Tamarisi gives great hope that we will again see the successes of the Ensemble in the future.
