Anything But Perfect

Starting this week, the vegetation health monitor shows crop conditions are anything but perfect, with the greatest variability over the Plains and Corn Belt. The hi-light is in Virginia with the lowlight being W Texas (solid red) and numerous areas of the Corn Belt (patchy reds).

Early this week, despite significant deterioration being reported in Kansass HRW crop, crop condition in Kansas showed below to above normal health overall. Also, the nice looking corn crop reported in the most recent USDA survey there apparently are numerous issues (red and oranges) across most of the Corn Belt, from the Eastern Dakotas and Eastern Nebraska into Illinois, N Indiana and N Ohio and even the N Delta. Texas vegetation remained stressed in the West and less so in the N and E of the state, while Virginia and much of the SE showed normal to better than normal vegetation health. All in all, it is a real mixed picture across the U.S... anything but near perfect!
