An Egyptian Dark Moon Ritual

Incorporating Leo's Energy for Destruction and Release

Materials:
Outdoors 2 Altars ( One larger, one smaller, if possible ), Two Black Candles ( Pillar or Taper preferable ), Four Votive Candles ( Yellow, Red, Dk.Blue, and Dk.Green ), Food-Offering Dish, Goblet or Chalice, Banishing or Patchouli Oil, Wax Poppets ( mini's will work well ), Egyptian Rebirth or Dark Moon Oil, Fine-ground Mugwort and Lavender, Frankincense incense, Cauldron or other fire-proof bowl.

PURPOSE:

Sekhmet

This is a Dark Moon Ritual incorporating the Egyptian Theme, Deities, and Neteru ( lesser Deities for the Quarters Guardians ) for the Destruction and Release of old patterns of behavior, failed dreams and goals, negative thoughts, and/or any other issues that have become obstacles or barriers to spiritual growth and progress. This ritual incorporates the use of wax poppets ( with our written parchments attached with Red and/or Black cotton string ) that will be bound with our intentions of destruction(s). Then the poppets are to be burned in the Fire Pot to finish the separation and release of these past-feelings. Those who attended the July 2010 Dark Moon Ritual are encouraged to bring their parchment piece from that ritual ( if possible ) to complete the separation and release of their issues. In this ritual, the Deities will be called by Evocation rather than Invocation. PREPARATION AND SETUP: The altar should be set up with the head of it facing North, towards the Quarter of the element of Earth and dressed with a Black or Dark Purple cloth covering. The Fire Pot should be on a fireproof altar ( like stone ) immediately to the South of the main altar.

Dark Green Votive Candle for North, Yellow Votive Candle for East, Red Votive Candle for South, Dark Blue Votive Candle for West, Statue: "Set" - with Black Pillar or Taper Candle Statue: "Sekhmet" - with Black Pillar or Taper Candle Goblet or Chalice, Food-Offering Dish, Stack of writing cards or slips of Parchment, Pen, Pencil, or Quill ( if with jar of Sacred Ink ), Smaller, fireproof altar with Cauldron or fireproof bowl.

STATEMENT OF THE RITUAL'S INTENTION ( and further explanation(s), if needed ): CASTING THE CIRCLE ( Using a Sistrum a sacred Egyptian rattle ): I cast this circle, wide and round, that it contain our power, for this work. Be it a barrier, to all things without, that which hinders, obstructs, distracts us, and favors us not! Be it as a bridge, among all the worlds, as we stand on the edge, of all of them the same! I seal this space, in the names of the Divine, both Gods and Goddesses, in your presence we stand! So be it! CLEANSING AND PURIFYING THE SPACE ( Wafting the Incense ): I cleanse this space, of all negativity, of all illness, of all harm and distractions! I do so, in the names of the Divine; the Gods and the Goddesses, so that only our Will, in concert with yours, shall it be done! So be it! CONSECRATING AND DEDICATING THE SPACE ( Asperging with the consecrated water ): I consecrate and dedicate, this time and space, in the names of the Divine; all Gods and Goddesses, so that it serves us all, for our intents! Be this space prepared, and secured by your blessings, shall it be readied, for the work we are about embark! So be it!

MAIN PART OF THE RITUAL: Priest: We stand on the Eve of Destruction! Priestess: We stand on the Eve of New Beginnings! Priest: We seek Liberation from, those things that serve Us no longer! Priestess: We seek Fulfillment, that New Energies, New Ideas, to fill the Void! Priest: We seek Absolution, from those things, that ail and confound Us! Priestess: We seek Renewal, from new-found Strength, that becomes Our Rebirth! Priest: We seek Destruction, of our old Ways, by Your Hands! Priestess: We seek Rebirth, of Our new Being, by Your Breath! Priest: By Hands of Destruction, and Release! Priestess: By Breath of New Life, and Rebirth! ( A few moments of silence for the group to contemplate their actions from here, and to feel the presences and the power around them. Time to consider THAT which shall be removed from Being, forever. ) Priest Time to offer up slips of the parchment to each participant, who does not already have one, and a writing instrument. The group may be seated at this time, if desired. Priestess When all are ready for the next step, offer up a wax poppet and colored string ( Red and/or Black Cotton string ) to each participant. They are to carefully tie the parchment to the poppets with the string when they are done writing. Now is the time for each participant to anoint the poppets with the Banishing or Patchouli Oil.
GROUP CHANT:

With this Charm, This goes away, Replaced anew, with that which shall stay!

The Priest and Priestess now bless the Fire-Pot and light the Sacred Fire. They stand at opposite sides of the fire pot ( acting as gate guardians ) to await the participants ( one at a time approaching from the South of the altar ) to present their wanted destructions and releases. Once all participants have concluded their actions, the Priest and Priestess may present their wanted destructions and releases to the Deities.
THE CHANT OF EMPOWERMENT:

Group: Out with the Old, In with the New, As the Fire burns, Our Rebirth becomes True!

Now is the time to anoint each participant with the Rebirth or Dark Moon Oil ( on the forehead with a New-Moon Crescent signifying a seal to the new beginnings that lie ahead. ).
CHANT OF REBIRTH:

Group: Now has past to Then, Then is no longer, Then was Then, Now is Now, Then was Old, Now is the New! ( /\ Chant until all participants have been anointed. /\ ) Group: So Be It! It is Done, It is Now! Once all have been anointed ( including the Priest and Priestess ), a short meditation to fill the void with positive thinking and the coming, positive possibilities. The meditation should be centered around the idea of healing, Earth energies. ANY OTHER SPELL WORK THAT IS NEEDED: Any other banishments, removals as necessary. Grounding and centering meditation.
