Stress corrosion is defined, (ref. T3 pp.7-62) and the specific metals it commonly attacks is discussed. Dezincification and dealuminification is explained (ref. T5 pp. 12-29), preventive measures and protection of these metals are also discussed. Slide show on this particular metal problem is shown. Other types of corrosion commonly experienced on board ships are discussed with emphasis on the factors that affects the corrosion process.
