    Throughout history, people have enjoyed quilts for many different reasons. Quilts can provide warmth, clues to the past, heritage, beauty, and value. People often find enjoyment in a quilts color, texture, and pattern.

    Use one of the patterns on the following pages to create a quilt. Use the ideas you have seen in the books we have read and the quilts on display around the classroom to get ideas. Think about colors, patterns, and repetition. You can include pictures or drawings, but the objects chosen should have personal meaning to you.
