SAMPLE CONTRACT WITH ADMINISTRATOR OTHER THAN SUPERINTENDENT

THIS CONTRACT is entered into by and between ____________________________________, an Administrator, and the Board of Directors, (hereinafter called the Board,) of the _________________________ School District, located at ____________________________, County of ____________________, State of Iowa. In consideration of a salary of: (strike the inapplicable options) OPTIONS A. (One-year contractfirst contract must be for not more than one year), a salary of ______________________________________________ Dollars ($________________) per school year, or more specifically, _________________________________________ Dollars ($______________) per school month, or ____________________________________ Dollars ($______________) per week of five consecutive days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PRINCIPALS ONLY: (Options B and C available only to principals after service of at least nine months in the school district.) B. (Two-year contract when salary is fixed for each year), a salary of __________________________ Dollars ($____________) to be paid in the first year ______________________________________ Dollars ($____________) to be paid in the second year, to be paid in equal installments on the ________ day of each calendar/school month for a period of _________ months, or in equal weekly installments for a period of ____________ consecutive weeks. C. AND IT IS FURTHER AGREED: 1. That said term shall commence on the ________ day of ____________________, 20 ____, ending on the ___________ day of ________________________, 20____, and shall include _________ days of service, and 1/____ th of the annual salary shall be considered as pay for one day of service. 2. That days designated as holidays by the Board of Directors of the District shall be regarded as days of service subject to the rules of payment of such days and the policies of the School District. 3. That the Administrator working under this contract shall be entitled to a vacation in accordance with rules established by the Board of Directors in addition to those days designated as holidays. The Administrator must complete one full year of employment before being eligible for vacation. 4. That deductions for absence for which pay is not allowed shall be made in an amount equal to the pay for one day of service for each day of absence. 5. That if said Administrator is lawfully discharged or is released by mutual agreement before the completion of said term, final settlement shall be made so the total amount which the Administrator shall have received shall be an amount equal to the product of the number of days of service multiplied by the amount considered as pay for one day of service. 6. That the use to be made of the days in said term shall be assigned by the Board or its duly-authorized representative and may be stated in a school calendar adopted by the Board. 7. That where required, the Administrator shall present a certificate as required by law to the secretary of the Board of Directors of the School District before accepting payment of any part of the annual salary. 8. That this contract shall be invalid if the Administrator is under contract with another Board of Directors in the State of Iowa covering the same period of time. 9. That the Administrator shall file in the office of the Superintendent of Schools such records and qualifications as may be required and shall submit to such physical examinations as may be required by the District. 10. That the Administrator, if required to take training, shall take such training during the times school is not in session if possible. 11. That the Administrator shall be accorded such insurance and other benefits as may be established by the Board of Directors of the School District. 12. _________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________
