PRAYER AT THE CLOSE OF THE DAY

Compline

Confession
L: Let us confess our sins in the presence of God and of one another. C: I confess that I have sinned against you this day. Some of my sin I knowthe thoughts and words and deeds of which I am ashamedbut some is known only to you. In the name of Jesus Christ I ask forgiveness. Deliver and restore me that I may rest in peace. L: By the mercy of God we are redeemed by Jesus Christ, and in him we are forgiven. We rest now in his peace and rise in the morning to serve him. C: Amen.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under Gods mighty hand that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, stand firm in the faith. - 1 Peter 5:6-9a

L: Gracious Lord, we give you thanks for the day, especially for the good we were permitted to give and to receive; the day is now past and we commit it to you. We entrust to you the night; we rest in surety, for you are our help, and you neither slumber nor sleep. C: Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed by thy name, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
