SharePoint will be heavily used in our environment. In V1, we stood up very basic sites and have seen the demand for such basic sites explode inside our company. I've waiting for this product! We like the idea of SharePoint being on YOUR server and not really being that complicated to use and set-up. The integration is spot-on and seamless. Awesome so far. Since we still have a small SharePoint implementation, we see most of the growth for SP being online. [look forward to] Being able to use SharePoint in the cloud so that our organization does not have to setup a infrastructure at our home office. Very easy, just like using Office on the desktop! [WebApps] This is a fantastic feature, much improved on Groove! [SharePoint Workspace]

[improve on] easier to find what you want, more logical organization
Setting up sites can be a part of the portal... including other things. Doing this in Sharepoint is way more complex then it should be...
cleaner navigation, more word processing options when editing a document using web browser. I find it a little complicated to know where I am - sharepoint site, admin sections etc - are there rules for when a new window opens or it just links through? There doesn't seem to be away to get back to admin from the Teamsite section, without using the back button or opening a new window and knowing the link. All ok apart from there's no link back to the main home screen you can go back to the sharepoint home but not the office 365 home. No easy way to get back to Portal from SPO. As sharepoint on premise is also not really easy to handle. But this is a problem with tremendous amount of growing features you loose simplicity.
I found it quite confusing- there are too many levels of navigationtoo many ribbons/columns - looses clarity of where to go for which actions Make it easier to find, edit and delete everything on the Team or website including documents, photos, pages, etc. As it is right now trying to delete pages, documents, photos or anything else is a complicated and convoluted process of weeding through pages or options to find the delete function and then going to the recycle bin to fully delete it. Layout of the ribbons, sidebar and other navigation needs to be clearer, more intuitive and easier to use just as Office 2010 is or better even than that. The options to edit the site and add content are all over the place, I need to look at the lower right. Then a drop down in the upper-left. It's not consistent with the Office Menu so it is a learning process all-around Should put a link in the master top or side of page when you create a teamsite. I couldn't figure out how to go back to the home page. It would be useful to have links home and to all other sites from each team site There isnt a big difference between editing mode and just regular navigation. [customer would like to see more distinction between the two]
what is the prefered hierarcy? (For example, never make the root site a blog, if you make the root site a publishing site, you will always have to approve before content appears, etc.) more information about how to create and organize sites Ability to change root site collection template or delete and recreate the root site. Default SharePoint site became unavailable after applying a template. Internet Explorer reports HTTP 404 error: Site not found. Default site is no longer accessible. After creating a new site collection, within the SharePoint admin center, site was selected as "Default Site", however the "Home" icon is still associated with the master site. When attempting again to set the secondary site as default, prompted with "Site is already the default". Within the user portal site, when selecting "Team Site", user is still directed to master site. Make a clear distinction between the creating sites and sites collection.
Enterprise Having more templates to choose from would be nice, but for what is there, was easy to create and setup... It would really help if there were a reference to a document that outlines what the different site templates do and some guidance around when to use what. more templates Small Business
Set permissions up along with site creation. The ability to add users when you setup the site. Integration with Active Directory is key to make sure users are in, etc. What is the difference between All Users, All users (per tenant) and All Authenticated Users? How about just plain All Users? Consider a richer interface with drag and drop or shifting users from one box to another, somewhat like metadata navigation config. some users will be non-it and techno neophytes.
I don't know how to limit access to the person i am sharing my teamsite with. From what i can see, I can't give the person limited access from the get go by sending them a link from which they accept the invitation. Need ability to set permissions while granting access. It was very easy to share this via a yahoo email- but this gaves access to the whole team site and it was not clear if it was possible to just give access to one document and I could not figure out how to take away this access. Trying to allow access to someone is not easy at all. should be able to allow someone from outside to access. Unless I did it wrong I didn't like the fact that when I added a user an email went to them to invite them as a user to the site. Then when I had to delete that person I had to email them and tell them they were to ignore the invite and they were no longer a user. I think it would be better to add all of our users first then after we created the list of users we could check off the people that we wanted to send invite emails to and at that time delete those we decided not to keep. I found it a bit confusing when adding visitors and users. I went in and tried to do this without listening to the tutorial because I felt that it was too time consuming.
When I tried to share the site, I couldn't tell what the difference in permissions was between "visitors" and "members" and there is no link to define that I could see. get it to work. I never got the confirmation email. Then when I did get it on another hotmail account... it would not let me log in. It works, although it wasn't clear if you could just type an email address in the recipient list. I then sent the invitation to the share, and it emailed in the subject a non-sensical reference before my email: "i:0#.f|membership|*PII*@*PII*.onmicrosoft.com has invited you to collaborate on SharePoint Online Beta" I could not share with a hotmail account.
General For those of us who are not experienced SharePoint admins some beginner's guides would be useful. a complete walk through of the portal should be available from main page. Online training linked within the portal. Will like to see some tutorials More information and tutorials Specific Small "bug" in the "Site Collections" page: check boxes in front of collection are not visible until the mouse is on the collection Need to note that it takes ~15 min for a Security Group created at the Admin portal to propagate and be visible in SharePoint Online.
Uploading Documents
Browsing from Sharepoint to upload is easy. Couldn't get "Save to Sharepoint" to work in Office 2010. I uploaded documents but not sure where they went. It says that they are stored and synced, but unsure of where.
It hung, with little feedback. Poor user experience. Wonder if there is any way to accelerate the upload. Doubtful, but would be nice.

I still can't find out how to put the icons for web apps on the site. It is easy to edit and existing document but how do you create one? Need to be able to create documents
It's not that it was not easy or easy it was the fact that the application was so slow in reaction to keyboard inputs that it became so frustrating that we gave up. I can see how it is supposed to work and we were looking forward to that part of the testing. To me this was a total fail
Improve the speed! the upload speed and download speed [SB] Loading speed could be improved, especially for dialup or 3G speed internet users. [SB] We found the editing of the documents online to be rather slow and frustrating. for whatever reason the documents did not load quickly and the actual editing of the document was halting at best. We don't know if it was connection issue on our side or rather an issue with the online application. One of the few real disappointments with 365 up to this point. [SB]
the tool isnt bad to use. It's on Par. But the Styles are TERRIBLE!
Ability to add a javascript gadget that can allow me to link to a js file. favicon gadget.
Far more advanced tools. Scripts, better design tools. Replace the missing modules. Add decent java script support. And on and on. Add more options for layout and other design tools. Add more colors and font options for text. Change the theme picture to logo. It makes no sense to push the header and everything else down just to add a logo, especially when the logo is listed under header in the options. I would give people more capabilities in designing their site. For example, I create sites for myself and others and I didn't like that I couldn't insert my own picture, logo and change the design colors.
Create an Online Database Set up MySite, Blog, Wiki Create a List with a New View
There was no option for that among the Create New Site options. I didn't find an option in the available templates for this at all There was no Wiki page library option in the New Site Create dialog box. Using the full version of Access I have installed on my desktop -- I couldn't even find the "Wiki Page Libary" to complete this exercise.
It was not easy to publish through word because I couldn't figure out the URL for my blog so I just copyied and pasted my blog into the site.
I get the error 'Word could not register your account' but I am able to blog from the SharePoint I tried to create a blog in word and post to the Sharepoint but it would not validate the URL I entered nor prompt for credentials, I didn't know how I was going to log in to post. just open a blog on yahoo or google is easier
