DVB/IP Satellite

Take your connections farther with satellite reach

Maintain Fast Connectivity Tata Communications Internet DVB/IP Satellite service enhances international ISPs and carriers ability to rapidly build connectivity to the Internet backbone from locations that are not served cost-effectively by terrestrial solutions. The service allows ISPs and carriers to maintain a terrestrial connection for upstream requests and add a direct one-way satellite connection for fast reception of downstream data. Extensive Global Footprint We are a world leader and pioneer in implementing DVB/IP Satellite service, with a footprint covering more than 200 countries and territories. More than just a satellite services provider, we have a global Internet backbone operating the single ASN 6453, built around a high-performance OC-192/STM-64 ring infrastructure. How It Works We have provisioned DVB/IP uplink service on satellite transponders that have been carefully selected for their coverage and performance characteristics. The teleports connect right into our high-capacity Internet backbone, providing the customer with the shortest-path transit connection. We supply you with the equipment required to implement the service to a receive-only Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) dish. Our DVB technology enables transport of multiple IP streams over a single carrier. The customers bandwidth is provisioned as a constant bit rate (CBR) virtual channel called a Packet Identifier (PID), with a provision to burst to a higher capacity. The initial bandwidth requirement and subsequent upgrades are remotely configured with only a few software commands. Key Benefits _ DVB/IP service area covers 200+ countries and territories _ IP connectivity and supplement existing fiber with high speed satellite connections _ Low-cost equipment kit _ Burstable bandwidth controls peak traffic loads, minimizing capacity requirements and costs _ Rapid implementation and bandwidth upgrades provide flexibility and scalability _ Transit connections up to 45 Mbps with rapid upgrades _ Guaranteed Constant Bit Rate (CBR) service with Burstable Bit Rate (BBR) capacity to save bandwidth costs and maintain high performance during peak traffic periods Low Latency and High Performance We have a direct rooftop connection to one of the global Internet backbones to ensure your access. Leverage Peering With shortest path, global transit routing via our extensive peering relationships we enable access to a large number of routes and content sources.
