How to backup ARccOS protected DVDs with DVD Decrypter

This program is written by The Mad Monk and is a utility that serves to help you backup certain Sony DADCs ARccOS protected DVDs that DVD Decrypter version 3.5.4.0 can't handle without the usage of a PSL2 file. The program is fully automated and will guide you thru all the necessary steps. The program is a plugin for PgcEdit ver 0.6.1 or more. The current version is 2.14 and you can find this plugin attached in a .zip file in this thread.

How the plugin works As DVD Decrypter is not updated any more - we need to give it a 'help file' to be able to rip the latest released ARccOS copy protected DVDs. With the help of some freeware programs - PgcEdit, FixVTS and VobBlanker - this is very easy to do. Though the description of the method below may look complicated, it's essentially a very simple process. The plugin is very automated and the wizard will guide you thru all the steps involved.

Perhaps it will take some additional time for you the first time you backup an ARccOS protected DVD using this method. But the next time - your work will be done in less than five minutes. The whole process will take some longer time - but as you know - when you rip a file - you can do something else during that time. In short: 1. 2. 3. 4. You have to rip the DVD. When DVD Decrypter fails with an I/O error, the log will be saved. The wizard will open the DVD in PgcEdit and create a new PSL2 file for you. Rip the DVD again after importing the new PSL2 file. This time, DVD Decrypter should work Next, you may want to cleanup the main title and remove the bad cells from the VOB and fix the pointers by running FixVTS or VobBlanker - this step may actually be necessary if you experience audio desynchronization problems, so you are advised to do it.

Important Don't have any on-the-fly decrypting tools, such as DVD43 or AnyDVD, running in the background while you use PgcEdit to create the PSL2 file and while you rip the DVD with DVD Decrypter. What is new in the latest version?
q

Added an option on the first page of the wizard to start it automatically when PgcEdit is launched.

Why do we need PSL2 files for DVD Decrypter? Not the most in-depth explanation but:
q

There are some ARccOS protected sectors on your DVD that DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 can't read due to the fact that the original DVD has a form of copy protection using unreadable sectors that will show up as I/O errors (=read errors - your reader/ burner can't read the sectors). Seems the ARccOS protection also uses some badly formatted cells to confuse the programs. The fake last VTS of the DVD is there for the same purpose. To get those sectors over to your hard disk - they are replaced with dummies (empty sectors/space). The PSL2 file tells DVD Decrypter where to insert those dummies. If you play your original disc - your player will not notice those "can't read sectors" because the references in the IFOs makes the player to not use those sectors.

A DVD A DVD consists of several Video Title Sets (VTS). A VTS is a collection of titles (and optionally menus), which are comprised of one or more Program Chains (PGCs). A PGC is a sequence of cells. A cell in one PGC can be re-used in other PGCs of the same domain (shared cells). All Title PGCs of a VTS must have the same video attributes - the same holds true for Menu PGCs in a VTS. About this guide I have used the swedish (region code 2) version of the DVD Seinfeld season 4 disc 4 as example. The .IFO files from this DVD and the rip log and PSL2 file from DVD Decrypter are attached so you can download them and use them if you want to follow this guide. PgcEdit ver 0.6.3.1, VobBlanker ver 2.1.0.0, FixVTS ver 1.24 and also the latest version of the PSL2 plugin is used in this guide.

If it's newly released by Columbia Pictures and/or Sony Pictures or DreamWorks and you're having trouble with it - there is a good chance that it is an ARccOS protected DVD.

Sony DADCs ARccOS is a disc-based copy control technology with a dynamic copy protection system that is compatible with available DVD playing devices and doesnt interfere with the DVDs performance. Every single ARccOS guarded title can be equipped with a different code making a generic crack impossible. The protection is applied to the content after authoring, leaving the input material unchanged a method which is successfully being used in the computer games copy protection market. The technology behind ARccOS prevents 1:1 duplication, ripping, recompression and unauthorized mass replication of the DVD-Video format, ensuring that the content is safe. The solution achieves its high protection level by having developers constantly monitor the ripping software market and ensure that ARccOS remains effective when new products are sold for circumventing the protection. Extensive testing results document ARccOSs success in preventing of the commonly used ripping software products in the market. :P The ripping problem with certain new ARccOS versions in DVD Decrypter If you try to use DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.4.0 in file mode and you see this error message - that the reader/burner can't read your DVD.

The log file from DVD Decrypter will also look something like this one in the red marked parts for most of the ARccOS protected DVDs:

Note
q

Some non ARccOS protected DVDs can also show this code
Code:

W 19:00:44 Possible Structure Protection Found! W 19:00:44 1 area has been marked as 'suspect'. W 19:00:44 Dummy sectors will be inserted where necessary.

DVD Decrypter displays this message when at least one title has jumps from cell to cell in the cell commands. This is used by the ARccOS protection to skip the bad cells, but the same command might be used in a standard and perfectly authored DVD, for example in a game.
q

Even if it's not a Sony released DVD that gives you an I/O error - the I/O errors on an ARccOS procted DVD are always (on current knowledge) in a VTS_XX_1.VOB file. So if you get the reading error in another file - try to clean the DVD or replace it.

2. Installation
Note: See here for help with installation. These programs needs to be installed on your computer:

11 Oct 2005 05:22 AM

DVD Decrypter version 3.5.4.0 If you don't have the final version 3.5.4.0 of DVD Decrypter installed - download and install it first. You can download it here.

PgcEdit PgcEdit is an ifo editor. This plugin will run in PgcEdit - that's why you need to have PgcEdit installed. So there is no need to understand all the functions in PgcEdit. The only thing you need to do in that program is to open and save the files. The plugin will take care of the rest of the job for you. You need to have ver 0.6.1 or the latest version 0.6.3.1 installed. It can be downloaded at the PgcEdit homepage. How to install PgcEdit: 1. Create an empty folder on your hard disk - name it to PgcEdit. I strongly suggest "C:\Program files\PgcEdit". 2. Save the downloaded pgcedit.exe file in the folder you created in step 1. 3. Run the saved pgcedit.exe file. PgcEdit will create a "bin" folder with several files and an empty "plugins" folder (such as "C:\Program Files\PgcEdit\plugins") in its installation folder. 4. Close PgcEdit.

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

The PSL2 plugin for PgcEdit, the FixVTS program and the CRC32 program. The psl2_plugin_ver_2_X.zip file contains these three programs:
r r r

psl2_plugin.tcl - The PSL2 plugin for PgcEdit. FixVTS.exe - used in the cleaning phase. crc32.exe - used for calculations.

How to install the plugin and the FixVTS and CRC32 programs: 1. Download the psl2_plugin_ver_2_X.zip from this thread. You find it attached in the first posting window in this thread. 2. Extract the psl2_plugin archive to the plugins directory created by PgcEdit (ie. in "C:\Program files\PgcEdit\plugins\"). You must copy at least the files "psl2_plugin.tcl" and "FixVTS.exe" and "crc32.exe". (Do NOT create a subfolder within the plugins folder!). You can also copy CRC32 and FixVTS in the bin directory, and create a shortcut to FixVTS. If you don't have an extracting/unzip program for .zip files - you can use this freeware program:

3. You should now have the psl2_plugin.tcl and FixVTS.exe and the crc32.exe in the plugins folder. 4. Open PgcEdit. 5. A new "plugins" menu, with a "PSL2 (ARccOS)" submenu will be automatically added by PgcEdit. If you can't find it, verify that you are running PgcEdit version 0.6.1 or the latest version 0.6.3.1 (You can check which version of PgcEdit you are using with the 'About' menu item.) and that the psl2_plugin.tcl file is in the plugins directory.
q

VobBlanker With the help of this program you can clean up the mess that the ARccOS protection has created. If we don't do this cleaning, you could end up with an error when you try to open the files in DVD Shrink. Use FixVTS first but if you find you're still having difficulties, run the project thru VobBlanker. If you don't have this program installed - you can download it from the VobBlanker homepage. The program is freeware. The latest version is 2.1.0.0. Note that the plugin tries to find VobBlanker.exe automatically during the process. If it cannot find it and the option is checked, a File Open dialog pops up the first time. The VobBlanker path is then saved in a config file. This shouldn't create any problem for you.

3. The Wizard

11 Oct 2005 06:13 AM

The Wizard will guide you thru the different steps involved that are needed so that you can backup your ARccOS protected DVD. In the examples I am going to use the swedish (region code 2) version of the DVD 'Seinfeld season 4 disc 4'. This DVD is an episodic release with ARccOS protection in two different titlesets - VTS_02 and VTS_03. In this case I can't rip VTS_02_1.VOB and VTS_03_1. VOB without getting an I/O error in DVD Decrypter. In this guide I am going to start my backup with phase 1. If you have already tried to rip with DVD Decrypter and got errors AND you have saved your log of the unsuccessful rip, start with Phase 2.

1. Start PgcEdit. You will then see the welcome screen of the PSL2 plugin:

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

2. Press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to start the wizard. This is the main menu of the wizard:

3. Select option 'Phase 1: I haven't ripped the DVD yet. I want to rip it now'. The three options in the Wizard's main menu:
r

Rip the DVD from scratch phase

Select this option if you haven't done anything with the DVD before. The wizard will help you thru all the needed phases so that you can backup your ARccOS protected DVD. If you select this option - continue with section 3.1 in this guide.
r

Complete my failed rip phase

This is the option you should select if you already have the log file from the failed rip from DVD Decrypter saved on your hard disk. The wizard will help you create a new PSL2 file so that you can rip the remaining file(s). If you select this option - continue with section 3.2 in this guide.

Cleaning phase

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

The cleaning phase will be the final step after that you have ripped the DVD with success. It will 'clean up' the ripped files so that they are free of all the garbage that the ARccOS protection places in the files. You can read more about what the cleaning phase will do and also why you should perform this phase in section '4.4 Post processing in PgcEdit' of the full guide. This phase can also be applied even if you have used another method to rip the DVD (AnyDVD, DVDFab Decrypter). If you select this option - continue with section 3.3 in this guide. 4. Press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to continue with the next step.

Note 1: If you have autoplay activated or that the inserted DVD automatically starts another application - turn off that feature before you run the wizard. It will only create problems for you. You can read in this guide - Turn Off the CD-ROM Autorun - how you do this. Note 2: The wizard will change some of your default settings in DVD Decrypter to assure that they are the best ones when ripping ARccOS protected DVDs. The changed settings should not cause any problems for you when you rip other DVDs. When called from the wizard, the original settings are restored when DVD Decrypter is closed. If you want to permanently reset the settings, you should use the menu function "Reset DVD Decrypter rip settings".

3.1 Phase 1 - Prepare for PSL2 file
q

11 Oct 2005 06:47 AM

Step 1

1. Insert the original DVD in your DVD reader/burner. 2. Already started DVD Decrypter? Make sure that you don't have DVD Decrypter already running on your system If it is already running - close it down. The wizard will not work if you don't do this. 3. Press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to continue with the next step. Step 2

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

1. Press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to continue with the next step. DVD Decrypter will now be started automatically by the wizard.

2. Check that the selected DVD reader/burner contain the orginal DVD. 3. Check that the destination folder is the desired one. You are now ready to rip the files to your hard disk.

4. Press this icon

to start the ripping.

For an ARccOS protected DVD you should see an 'I/O Error!' (=reading error) window after a while.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/printthread.php?t=56078 (11 of 110)2-Feb-2006 7:32:18 PM

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

If you don't see this window and the ripping was completed this DVD don't need a PSL2 file to be created. In this case, phase 2 is automatically skipped. If you see this I/O error window you don't need to rip thru all the I/O errors. After this first one it is recommended to click the 'Abort' button on the first read error found to skip the problematic file and let the program continue to rip the rest of the disc. You must continue the rip to the end. That's very important. If you should encounter any more reading errors - just repeat the above step. DVD Decrypter will report that the ripping is done when you see this window

In this case I had two files that I had to skip. 5. Press the 'OK' button. 6. Close down DVD Decrypter.
s

Note 1: Do not remove the DVD from the drive! Note 2: If there were no I/O errors during the rip, phase 2 is not needed. In this case, step 3b is displayed instead of step 3a, and phase 2 is skipped.

Step 3a

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

As we had two files that DVD Decrypter couldn't rip - the wizard will now create a PSL2 file for you in the next phase. You will also have the option to save the log file on your hard disk in the DVD output folder. If you leave this check box unmarked - the default setting is that it will be saved in this location instead: 'C:\Documents and Settings\Logged in username \Local Settings\Temp' 1. Press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to continue with the next step. Now continue with step 1b in the next section of this guide.

The wizard automatically inserts the current DVD-Text name if it is defined. Otherwise, the current directory name is used. In both cases, the DVD title may be wrong. In such case - change it. The plugin inserts also the zones after the name. It's even sometimes necessary to type in the language of the DVD, since, for example, there may be several versions of the same DVD in the same zone. So please verify and complete the DVD description in as much detail as possible, in particular, if you are going to post the PSL2 file on Internet. 1. When you are done - press the 'Next' button in the wizard's window to continue with the next step. Step 3

In this step you have the option to use either FixVTS or VobBlanker to clean the VOB files. Which one should I select? As FixVTS is designed to work on ARccOS protected files - I suggest you use FixVTS.
r

FixVTS

Options

If you check mark this option - FixVTS can also remove unreferenced cells (i.e. cells that are in the VOB files, but never played back, according to the IFO file). It can also fix blank packs that are sometimes introduces by DVD rippers when they encounter unreadable sectors. These blank packs can either be removed, or replaced by compliant "stuffing packs" - meaning less compression/ shrinking needed and better picture quality if you need to shrink the files to fit on a non double layer disc when you burn the files. Should be check marked.

If you check mark this option - FixVTS will not create a backup of the original files but the process will be much

faster. If there should be a problem - you can always re-ripp the original DVD again. Should be check marked.

If you check mark this option - FixVTS will process all titlesets including the menus on the DVD. If you encounter that you find a lot of unreferenced material in DVD Shrink - enabling this option will solve that problem. You can see an example of this in section '8.1 Unreferenced Material' of this guide.

4.1 Files needed for the plugin
Before you start the work with the PSL2 plugin you will need two files from DVD Decrypter:
q q

15 Oct 2005 02:49 PM

The log file with the bad rip The PSL2 file The log file with the bad rip The DVD Decrypter log file is an extremely useful part of the program. It not only provides you with the details of every individual session. It helps you troubleshoot if any errors happen. This is the log file window:

If you don't see it - press the button on your keyboard to turn it on or off. Even if you select it to be off - it runs in the background and you can at any time turn it on again and watch what's saved in it. You can also turn in on by using the toolbar in DVD Decrypter:

Just make sure that the saved log file only contains the rip from this DVD and not several other previously attempted tries to rip it. If your DVD Decrypter log file should contain several logs - you will end up with problems later on in this guide with the automatic creation of the PSL2 file. 1. Start DVD Decrypter and insert the DVD in your DVD reader/burner Make sure that you are in file mode and that your window looks like this one - if not you are not in file mode. Solve it by pressing the key on your keyboard.

2. Press this icon 3. I/O Errors

and start the process.

You don't need to rip thru all the I/O errors. After the first one - you can just press abort and skip the problematic file and continue to rip the rest of the disc. When you see the first 'I/O Error!' (=reading error)

- then just press the button 'Abort' and in the next window -

- select 'Yes' - as there is no need to save this incomplete file. If you should encounter any more reading errors - just repeat the above steps. 4. Save the log file

When the ripping is done and you see a window similar to this one -

You will now see the 'Save as' window:

Press the 'Save' button to save the log file to a place on your hard disk where you can find it again. You can name it as nameofmovie.log or whatever you want to name it as - just make sure that the file ending is '.LOG'.
q

The PSL2 file You will also need the PSL2 file from DVD Decrypter. This file is an attempt from the program to export a working PSL2 file - but due to the fact that the program is not updated any more - the exported PSL2 file is not correct. But we need to use some basic information from the file in our work with the plugin. This is how you create and save it: 1. Select 'File' -> 'Protected Sector List' -> 'Export...' in the DVD Decrypter toolbar.

Save it as nameofmovie.psl or whatever you want to name it as - just make sure that the file ending is '.PSL'. Save the file to a place on your hard disk where you can find it again.

2. Press the 'Save' button. 3. The file is now created and saved. You should now see this window:

4. Press the 'OK' button.

You can now close down DVD Decrypter.

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

Should you keep the folder with the ripped files?

You have two options:

q

Delete the folder You will have to rip all files again once you have created the PSL2 file. This will take more time. But there will be no chance that you miss to 'update' some .IFO and .BUP files during the new rip with the created PSL2 file.

Keep the folder This option will save you time.

r

Delete the .IFO and .BUP files It's faster to delete only the .IFO and .BUP files in the ripped folder. The .VOB files already saved can stay in place. It's faster to rip only the missing files in the second pass.

Keep the .IFO and .BUP files during the creation of the PSL2 file You may also choose to keep all the ripped files and load the DVD in PgcEdit from the ripped folder instead of directly from the DVD drive during your creation of the PSL2 file. Just before the final rip (using the created PSL2 file) you can delete the .IFO and .BUP files or just replace them during the rip.

'The PGC is entered at cell #'

The option 'The PGC is entered at cell #' should be set to the number of the first played cell in the PGC. In most cases the default value '1' is also where the playback starts of the DVD. The program will do a check and if it suspects that the playback don't start at cell 1 the value is replaced by the list of possible entry cells.
r

Check the first protected cell reported by DVD Decrypter. The option 'Find the first cell with CIRC error from the DVD Decrypter log file' is just a safety check. You can verify if the first protected cell belongs to the current PGC, and is somewhere in the automatically selected cells. Press the button

The program will ask you where you saved the log file from DVD Decrypter. Locate it and press open and you will then see this window: Note: It's important that you use the 'Open' button and don't just double-click on the file to have it to open. If you don't use the 'open' button - you can alter the previously selected values. This is because of a known bug in the windows environment regarding mouse events.

Find the cells with bad VOBU adresses in the VTS_VOBU_ADMAP table.

The function 'Find the cells with VOBU adresses in the VTS_VOBU_ADMAP table' will search for discrepancies in the VOBU table and select and mark the corresponding cell(s) with a light yellow background. Seems those discrepancies are always in a cell with a read error.

9. We now need to know the LBA of the problematic file.

The LBA (Logical Byte Adress) is the physical location/adress of the file on the DVD and is needed for the plugin to calculate which physical sectors that contains the ARccOS protection. Press the button to find the start LBA of the current Domain and pgcEdit will ask you for the location of your saved log file from DVD Decrypter. Locate it and and press open. Note: It's important that you use the 'Open' button and don't just double-click on the file to have it to open. If you don't use the 'open' button - you can alter the previously selected values. This is because of a known bug in the windows environment regarding mouse events.

This should show you this window:

Another way to retrieve the LBA is to insert the value manually This method could be used if the plugin should report that it can't find the LBA in the log file from DVD Decrypter. 1. Insert your DVD and then start DVD Decrypter in file mode (press to get into file mode).

2. Select the problematic file (the file you couldn't rip, such as VTS_XX_1.VOB) in the listbox in the right side of the program and right click on that file. You will now see a box - select 'properties' in that box. It should show you the LBA values:

The value we are going to use is 497620. 10. 'Remap protected cells to valid cell #' option.

This option is used to remap a bad ARccOS cell to another (good) cell. This is required to ensure that all cells are playable and readable by all applications and players. Enter the replacement cell to use. The default value is '1' and should work out in most cases - so no need to change it. If you uncheck this option - the program will not create the commands to remap the cells in the PSL2 file.
r

Should this cell be the first available (#1) one, or something else? Doesn't matter, as long as you choose a non-protected cell. It's best to use the first good blank cell (with a 00:00:00.10 or 12 timing, as shown in the PgcEdit's cell list.) This option is not required if (as you should) you post-process the DVD with 'After Rip: Remove Crap', since the bad cells will be removed anyway.

11. Locate the saved PSL2 file from DVD Decrypter. We need some basic information from the previously exported PSL2 file from DVD Decrypter.

Press the button

and locate the saved PSL2 file from DVD Decrypter and and press open.

Note: It's important that you use the 'Open' button and don't just double-click on the file to have it to open. This is because of a known bug in the windows environment regarding mouse events.

12. Create the PSL2 file. We are now ready to create the new PSL2 file (this will also be the first part of the new PSL2 file if you have more than one VTS_XX_1.VOB file that you couldn't rip). Press the button and save the file on your hard disk.

For some DVDs you will first see a screen that tells you that the plugin will create some additional rows automatically for you to solve problems with additional PGC's.

Just press 'OK'.

You will now see the created PSL2 file in an editing window. If you are happy with it - press the 'Close' button. If not - change it and select 'Save' when you are done.

13. Check if there are any more titlesets that needs to be processed. If you only had one VTS_XX_1.VOB file that you couldn't rip with DVD Decrypter - you can now jump to step 17 in this guide. For some DVDs (e.g. Seinfeld) with more than one protected VTS you need to create the rows in the PSL2 file for the other problematic file VTS_03_1.VOB that we couldn't rip. 14. Select the option 'Plugins' -> 'PSL2 (ARccOS)' -> 'Advanced mode' -> 'Find protected titles' in the PgcEdit menubar. The plugin will now present to you the next protected VTST.

4.4 Post processing in PgcEdit
Is it necessary to do this post processing? Though you have now successfully ripped your DVD, there are still some problems in the main title.
q

1 Nov 2005 06:56 AM

There are several cells in the beginning of the title. Those cells are not useful, and serve only to skip the protected cells when playing the DVD, by means of various "cell commands". Among those cells are the cells protected by read errors, that caused DVD Decrypter to fail. Those cells were replaced by dummy sectors by DVD Decrypter when you successfully ripped the DVD. Unfortunately, when read by some programs such as DVD Shrink, those sectors or their associated IFO files are interpreted as illegal stuff, and the program may refuse to process the DVD. Most important: in some cases (still not very clear) the sound is desynchronized when playing the main title on a standalone. (Take care, this desynchronization is generally not perceptible when played with a software player on a PC!) By removing the unnecessary cells, the sound desynchronization should be fixed. Obviously, it is also better to remove the unnecessary cells if you have to compress the DVD so that it will fit on a DVD-5. You will be able to use a better compression level. During the cleanup, you can even process the VOBs with VobBlanker to remove the now unreferenced ARccOS cells. You don't have to select them in the VobBlanker GUI, since VobBlanker drops or blanks all unreferenced cells anyway. Just click the PROCESS!! button. Easy. When playing the title, some of the original cells (usually 2 or 3) are still played. Those played cells are short (less than 1 sec), but since there are cell commands attached to them, the player takes generally a couple of seconds to play each of those cells and start the movie. This means that the playback of the real title cannot begin immediately, and in extreme cases, the player may "hang". The post-processing removes also the so called "Restricted Flag" in the first cells. This flag us used to prohibit the usage of the remote when playing some specific cells. This has the consequence that you cannot pause, or use the Fast Forward or Rewind buttons of the remote when the title is starting. With the post-processing, these little annoyances are gone! Additionally, the 'Remove crap' option does the same thing as the 'Clean cell commands' menu option (see below), but since it also removes the fake cells from the title, it is therefore able to remove also all fake cell commands (including thoses referenced in the restricted cells.) Though this has no incidence on the playback, it's a good way to have a clean PGC, without unnecessary 'crap'.

In conclusion, it is highly recommended to do post-processing. After this post processing (including the stripping of the unreferenced cells with VobBlanker), the DVD is now perfectly 'standard' and should be readable by any application without problem. For certain DVDs (such as Seinfeld) you need to do this post processing. DVD Shrink can't open the files if you don't. You will see an 'Invalid DVD Navigation structure error' or the like in DVD Shrink.

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

Post processing options You have some options in the post processing: 1. You can do "Remove crap" + FixVTS (part 4.4.2 and part 4.4.3 in this guide). 2. You can do "Remove crap" + VobBlanker (part 4.4.2 and part 4.4.4 in this guide). 3. You can do FixVTS only. Option 1) and 2) should give you very similar outputs, while 3) will give you a slightly different output (not as clean, but normally equally functional). All methods should open fine in DVD Shrink or DVD Rebuilder. It's better to remove crap before, but in some cases not really necessary. Anyway, I prefer to run the remove crap pass also, to remove the unnecessary cells, cell commands, and... crap. It only takes a few seconds. FixVTS is integrated into the PSL2 plugin. But you can still post process with VobBlanker, so that if it doesn't work with FixVTS, there is still a solution. Post processing with FixVTS is faster than VobBlanker.

4.4.1 Remove unreferenced Titles

1 Nov 2005 06:56 AM

This function 'Advanced mode - After rip: Remove unreferenced Titles' is used to remove all fake unreferenced titles at the end of the title domains before using the standard 'Remove Crap' pass on the protected titles. It is sometimes necessary to do it so to be able to remove crap on all PGCs. The wizard doesn't need this function. I recommend using this method 'Remove unreferenced Titles' first. If it doesn't find anything, don't worry. There are just no fake titles on this DVD. Then continue with the standard 'Remove crap' method to get rid of the normal protections. It is not needed to first select a protected or fake title to use this function. The Process 1. Start PgcEdit 2. Press CTRL + O to open up the files in PgcEdit and select the folder where your ripped files from DVD Decrypter is located. If PgcEdit wants to correct the files - just press YES/OK and let it do that. This is how it should look after that you have opened up your folder:

3. Select the option 'Plugins' -> 'PSL2 (ARccOS)' -> 'Advanced mode' -> 'After rip: Remove unreferenced Titles' in the PgcEdit menubar. For most DVD's this function will not find any unreferenced title to remove at the end of a title domain and you will only see this window telling you this.

Just press the 'OK' button. 4. Save the files. Press Ctrl + S

5. Proceed with the option 'Remove crap'. Continue with the next step in this guide to remove the crap in the ripped files.

Also note that the first cells (in my example cells 1 and 2) can be manually selected for removal as well. This way, you will end up with a 'standard' title after the processing.

The button By pressing this button, all "tiny" cells (playback time of less than 1 second) in Program 1 will be marked and highlighted in blue. With this button, the user can easily select all cells that are not useful, because they are probably only blank, dummy cells used originally by the ARccOS protection to jump to the real entry point of the title, via the cell commands. Removing them doesn't hurt, and allows the title to begin a bit quicker.

With some DVDs (e.g. Seinfeld) you must select all tiny cells. If not you will see this error message:

6. Press the button PgcEdit will show you if there are any more titlesets to process in a window.

4.4.3 Cleanup VOBs with FixVTS

1 Nov 2005 06:57 AM

FixVTS, is a tiny application that can be used as an alternative to VobBlanker with the PSL2 plugin. It's written by jeanl and you can read more about FixVTS at the official homepage. It's very simple - it processes the VOB files in a VTS, doing the following:
q

For the first VOB in a titleset (for the time being), it remove all blank packs, and all unreferenced cells. It creates a backup, just in case. In all subsequent VOBs (VTS_xx_2.VOB and above) it simply adjusts navpack pointers in place (this improves processing speed). It then cleans up the IFO files: r Adjusts the PGC info tables to reflect the new LBAs r Rebuilds the VTS_C_ADT table r Rebuilds the VTS_ VOBU_ADMAP table r Fixes any "elapsed time" problems in the PGC info tables. r Does a "Get VTS sectors".

The reason FixVTS only "fully" processes the first VOB is because it's faster, and ARccOS so far has only been found in the first VTS (however, this may change). Also, notice there's no backup of the VOBs above VTS_xx_1.VOB, so you might want to keep a copy of your VOBs just in case (although FixVTS does not destroy them, it just updates a few pointers). FixVTS can now process from backup or in-place. Combined with the usual option of "Remove unrefed" or leave, you have 4 possibilities:
q

From backup on, Remove unref on : This is slow, since everything has to be copied. But you get a full backup (all VOBs + all IFOs). From backup on, Remove unref off: This is also slow, nothing is removed, but the blank packs are replaced by stuffing packs. Not tremendously useful. From backup off, Remove unref on: This is faster, because processing happens in place. You don't have any backup of the VOBs. The output files are potentially smaller than the input. If there's nothing to remove (no blank packs, no unrefed cells, this is very fast). From backup off, Remove unref off: This is the fastest option by far. There's no backup, and the output files have the same sizes as the original ones. Blank packs are replaced by stuffing packs. This is my favorite setting because it's extremely fast (maybe 20-30s for 1GB file). Of course, the unwanted stuff with appear as unreferenced material in Shrink, and you'll have to remove it there...

The Process 1. Select the option 'Plugins' -> 'PSL2 (ARccOS)' -> 'Advanced mode' -> 'Finally: Cleanup VOBs with FixVTS' in the PgcEdit menubar. The first thing that is going to happen is that the plugin will save the DVD.

The plugin will then launch FixVTS automatically with the first VTS_02_1 selected.

2. Press the 'Cleanup!' button. The cleanup process starts.

When it's done with the VTS_02 you will see this window:

3. Press the

button to close it down.

If there are more than one titleset to process the FixVTS program will be restarted and you just start the process again by pressing the 'Cleanup!' button. In my case it's VTS_03_1 that will be loaded and processed.

4.5 Delete the work files

4 Nov 2005 06:05 PM

The plugin leaves some additional files on your hard disk after that the process is done. Some of these are backups of files if something should go wrong during the process, which will allow you to revert to the file status before you started the process. If you use PgcEdit to burn then PgcEdit will ignore the backup folders when burning the DVD, so you don't need to remove them. You can also ignore them if you need to shrink the DVD. I will list the various folders that the plugin creates and whether they should be deleted or not.
q

PgcEdit_backup folder This folder will be created inside your folder with your ripped files. It will contain the .IFO files before you started the latest session with PgcEdit. After the process with VobBlanker this folder will contain an identical set of .IFO files as those in your DVD folder. This is an "incremental (or latest) backup" of your IFOs. An explanation of what 'the incremental backup' means:
r

The problem is that, when the VOB files are modified (first by the plugin and then by VobBlanker) the first, original backup is no longer synchronized with the VOB files. So, if you restore it, you will get a non-working DVD. On the other hand, if the user restores the latest backup (the PgcEdit_backup folder) it will be synchronized.

This folder can be deleted.

q

PgcEdit_backup_051031_015236 folder If PgcEdit finds an previously created 'PgcEdit_backup' folder it renames the current one to this type of folder. The numbers are

in the form of yymmdd_hhmmss (date and time) from the initial PgcEdit_backup folder. It contains the original .IFO files (which can be re-ripped easily) and can be deleted.
q

FixVTSBackup folder The FixVTSBackup folder is created in the VIDEO_TS folder. The folder will contain these files as they where before the process with FixVTS started:
r r r

VTS_XX_0.IFO VTS_XX.1.VOB VIDEO_TS.IFO

This folder can be deleted.

q

VobBlanker_backup folder The VobBlanker_backup folder is created in the VIDEO_TS folder. It will contain the .IFO and .VOB files before the process with VobBlanker started. This folder should be deleted as it's usually very big (it holds the original VOBs of the main title), so it should be deleted to regain disc space.

You have now completed all the necessary actions to load your DVD into DVD Shrink or DVD Rebuilder or whatever. If your files are less than 4.37Gb (4482Mb) you may simply burn.
The remaining sections of this thread explain some of the additional functions of the plugin for interested readers.

5.1.1 Dump absolute cells LBAs
The 'Dump Absolute Cell LBAs' function will give you a list over the cells in the VTST and the corresponding LBAs. This function is not very useful now when the PSL2 creating process is automated. The Mad Monk has kept this function for the user wanting to use another program to generate the PSL2 file, or for experienced users, so it's not necessary to read this part to use the plugin. Dump absolute cells LBAs 1. Start PgcEdit and you will see this window:

5.1.2 Display PGC starting time (SCR)
The function to display the start time of the current PGC function can help resynchronize the subtitles files extracted by SubRip. In most case, all you have to do is to apply the remove crap and the VobBlanker pass, then extract the subpics with SubRip. You must substract the timing displayed by the plugin of the timings of the subrip file, and everything should be OK. However, in some cases, things may be more complicated. (For example if the protected title do not start at the beginning of the VOB, or if the user has kept the first tiny ARccOS cells.) The Process 1. Start PgcEdit and you will see this window:

2. Press CTRL + O and select the folder where your ripped files from DVD Decrypter is located. You will first see a window that the DVD opened ok.

Just press the 'OK' button.

5.1.3 Display CRC32 code
The CRC32 code is used by DVD Decrypter to identify that the PSL2 file that you want to import was created for the same DVD that you want to backup. If you should try to use the wrong PSL file you will see a window such as this one:

http://forum.digital-digest.com/printthread.php?t=56078 (73 of 110)2-Feb-2006 7:32:18 PM

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

In this case you are trying to use a PSL2 file that is not created for your DVD. This could be the case if you have downloaded a PSL2 file created by another person. Perhaps your DVD version is for another region than it was created for. When you have found out what CRC32 code your DVD have - you can easy see if a PSL file already created will work for your DVD. The first row in the PSL2 file shows the CRC32 code.
Code:

PSL2 0:0x59340E0F,4169919,DVD_VIDEO 1:4169630,4169909

This is the CRC32 code from the original DVD.

In this case the PSL2 file and the original DVD match as they have the same CRC32 code - 0x59340E0F. The Process 1. Make sure that you don't have AnyDVD or DVD43 running. If you have AnyDVD or DVD43 running, you must disable it before running this CRC32 tool, or the CRC32 code will be wrong. 2. Start PgcEdit and you will see this window:

3. Insert the original DVD in your DVD reader/burner. 4. Select the option 'Plugins' -> 'PSL2 (ARccOS)' -> 'Tools' -> 'Display CRC32 code' in the PgcEdit menubar.

The plugin will search for a DVD inserted in your DVD reader/burner and if the plugin found the correct DVD (if you have more than one DVD reader/burner) - you don't need to change the location for the VIDEO_TS.IFO file that it should open. 5. Press the 'Open' button in the DVD Decrypter window. You will then see the DVD's CRC32 code.

5.1.4 Clean cell commands
This function is useless if you use the other cleanup option - 'Remove Crap'. The 'Clean cell commands' menu option does a pre-processing cleanup. It removes the fake commands and the fake conditions, but leaves the cell commands referenced in the cells, including in the ARccOS restricted cells. Also, the commands are reordered (first cell first.) This option can be useful to clean the cell commands a bit to easier understand the logic of the protection. Try it on the original Closer. The 'Clean cell commands' menu option can be used on any PGC, to reorder the cell commands. The 'Remove crap' menu option does the same thing as the 'Clean cell commands' menu option, but it also removes the cells checked in the GUI from the PGC, and therefore is able to remove all fake cell commands, including thoses referenced in the restricted cells. 5.3 Appendix - FixVTS

This freeware program is written by jeanl and you can always find the latest version of the program and also read more about it on the FixVTS homepage.

FixVTS is a very tiny tool that allows you to adjust your DVD files into better DVD compliance, so they can be opened in DVD Shrink or VobBlanker. FixVTS does a similar job as what's called an "IFOEdit Mock Strip", but only adjust as little information as possible in the VOB and IFO files to allow opening in other apps while keeping the DVD as similar as the original as possible You would use FixVTS if you messed up your DVD, for example by applying the wrong tool, or aborting in the middle of some processing, and the result can no longer be used.

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

Another good use is for DVDs that have been authored with deliberate "errors" in the IFO or VOB files, such that they still play on your player, but won't open in DVD editing tools such as DVD Shrink, VobBlanker and others.

The options
q

Remove unreferenced and blank cells

If you check mark this option - FixVTS can also remove unreferenced cells (i.e. cells that are in the vob files, but never played back, according to the IFO file). It can also fix blank packs that are sometimes introduces by DVD rippers when they encounter unreadable sectors. These blank packs can either be removed, or replaced by compliant "stuffing packs" - meaning less compression/shrinking needed and better picture quality if you need to shrink the files to fit on a non double layer disc when you burn the files. Should be check marked.
q

In place (no backup!)

If you check mark this option - FixVTS will not create a backup of the original files but the process will be much faster. If there should be a problem - you can always re-ripp the original DVD again. You will also see this warning window if you selected this option:

The Buttons
q

Cleanup!

Starts the process after that you have selected a file to process.
q

Full DVD

This option will process all titlesets on the DVD and the menus.
q

Restore Backup

During the process the program creates a backup. This option restores this backup.
q

Delete Backup

Deletes the folder that contains the backup files that where created during the process. The program will ask you if you want to delete the backup folder:

First public release. Full-automatic PSL2 creating.

Version 1.2
r r r r r

Added more safety checks. Added an option to include the cells details in the PSL2 file. The default filenames for the log and psl files are now retrieved from the registry. If the output file file has not the .PSL extension, it is added automatically. Little cosmetic changes.

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

Version 1.3
r r r r r

New GUI. The pre- and post-processings is splitted in two functions, to clarify the GUI of the post-processing. Error message is displayed in the GUI if the user does something wrong. Added the field to input the starting cell number. Additional checks in the PGC structure analysing.

Version 1.4
r r r r

Hopefully first bug-free version. The Layer Cake (z2, Greece) problem is fixed. The The Lords of Dogtown (z2, US) problem is fixed. Added ability to launch DVD Decrypter from the plugins menu.

Version 1.5
r r r

The option to highlight the cell with error handles now all errors referenced in the log file. Changed some error messages to be more user friendly. Added source code comments.

Version 1.6
r r r

Small bug fixed: it was possible to accept the Remove Crap GUI without selecting any cell to remove. New Remove Crap button to locate the tiny blank, unuseful cells in Program 1. New Remove Crap option to launch VobBlanker automatically to process the main title VOBs. Pressing PROCESS!! when VB starts then QUIT when the job is done is sufficient. If the plugin cannot find VobBlanker.exe, the user is prompted to browse to it (the first time only.) New message to remind the user to save the DVD after the Remove Crap pass (Only if the Launch VobBlanker option is not set).

Version 1.7
r

r r

Added checks for fake <=, =>, &, < and > conditions in cell commands. The cell commands with those conditions were not checked in previous versions. Should fix the problem with Seinfeld season 4 disc 4. See here. It is now impossible to remove all cells of the current title during the 'Remove Crap' pass. See bug report by Blutach here. The program number is now displayed in the main table of cells.

Version 1.8
r

r r

New Append button in the Generate PSL2 File GUI, to be used when there are several protected titlesets in the same DVD (ARccOS protection on episodes) Note: the DVD Description and the path to original PSL2 file fields are not used when the Append button is selected. New "Find the cells with bad VOBU addresses in the VTS_VOBU_ADMAP table" button to searches for discrepancies in the VOBU table and select and mark the corresponding cell(s) with a light yellow background. Seems those discrepancies are always in a cell with a read error. When there are several PGCs in the same domain using the same removed cells, the Remove Crap function is now automatically restarted to process also the remaining PGSs. Note: the user must still manually select at least one protected PGC in each protected titleset. New feature to add automatically the cells of other PGCs belonging to the same protected area in the output. In such case, a warning is issued. It is now possible to right-click on a cell to preview it. (Use this feature only when doing the Remove Crap pass!). There are now tooltips on the cells checkboxes to show the cell command (before and after the cleanup of the fake conditions). New "Tool: Find protected titles" menu to display the list of protected titles and to select automatically the first or next protected title. Added the Version History menu.

Version 1.9
r

r r

Workaround for the difficult problem of the VOB/Cell ID of the ARccOS cells being reused in the played cells. (Cf. Seinfeld season 4, DVD 4, VTS 3.) In the Remove Crap pass, new button "Automatically find all cells to remove" to automate the job of finding the right cells. (The last tiny cells should not be removed because those cells are usually beginning with an Open GOP.) New menu option to process the VOBs with VobBlanker after the whole job has been done in several titlesets. Useful to process episodic DVDs at once, or to come back to VobBlanker after some manual work in PgcEdit. An incremental backup is now automatically made at the end of the VobBlanker pass, to be sure to keep the IFOs and VOBs synchronized. New menu "Online User Guide". (Link to "PSL2 plugin for PgcEdit - A User Guide" at Digital Video Forum, by Cynthia) The "Find Cells with bad VOBU addressed" function do not automatically select the cells anymore. In some cases, some cells that must be kept were selected! Several little bugs fixed and some improvments.

http://forum.digital-digest.com/printthread.php?t=56078 (95 of 110)2-Feb-2006 7:32:18 PM

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

Version 1.10
r

Fixed crash if the Open File dialog was cancelled after Generate PSL File -> Append to Existing PSL2 file.

Version 1.11
r

r r r r

Added "Tool: Display PGC starting time (SCR)" menu to help resynchronize the subpics extracted by SubRip or similar programs. Fix: VobBlanker's backup folder was not always saved at the right location. Fix: An Infinite Loop error message was displayed in some cases when finding the unplayed cells. Fix: The number of deleted cells commands was wrong in the message after a Clean Cell Commands. PgcEdit v 0.6.1 or more is now needed to use this plugin.

Version 1.12
r

Remove crap can now be used on a DVD ripped by DVDFab Decrypter. (Previously the Find All Cells to Remove function did not identify the first cell as a cell to remove.) Remove crap now adds the missing entries in the VTS_VOBU_ADMAP tables so that it is now possible to use DVD Shrink and similar programs without having to process the domain with VobBlanker.

Version 1.13
r

The last cell of the PGC was wrongly included by the Find Unplayed Cells when this cell was used to allow the user to skip to the end of the title with the remote control, and was preceded by a LinkTailPGC cell-command.

Version 1.14
r r

Some unused cell commands were not removed in some case. Fixed. It is now possible to remove crap on titles without selecting any cell to remove. (It's necessary to clean title 94 of Madagascar.) Identify and offer to remove completely the fake titles used in the newer ARccOS protections. (Madagascar title 94)

Version 1.15
r

Bug when the VOB/Cell ID to patch was not the first one in the VOB fixed.

Version 1.16
r

r r

Added support to use FixVTS instead of VobBlanker in the final pass. The option to launch VobBlanker from the Remove Crap pass has been removed. You must now use either the FixVTS or VobBlanker menu option. Added also the menus to launch FixVTS as a standalone application, and to process the current Title domain with FixVTS. Added "Reset DVD Decrypter rip settings" menu to set the DVD Decrypter options related to the ARccOS protections to reasonable defaults. Fixed a bug after the VobBlanker processing when the original protected title has been completely removed by the Remove Crap pass. Added Install.txt in the archive with instructions on how to install PgcEdit and the plugin files.

Version 2.0
r r r

r r r r

Added the wizard. Menu reorganized in sub-menus. Fixed the "Madagascar" removing crap problem, where only cells 1 and 2 were automatically selected, instead of cells 1 to 3 or 4. Added the menu "Show CRC32 of DVD" to display the CRC32 code used by DVD Decrypter to identify the DVD. You must select the ORIGINAL DVD file! This function may help selecting the right PSL file to download on the net. Added the menu Quick Open DVD, to open a DVD, skipping most of the dialogs opened normally by PgcEdit. Added the menu to open the short guide in your web browser. Changed some of the VobBlanker options when removing crap in the VOBs. Code reorganized.

Version 2.1
r

Changed the messages when opening the DVD in the wizard to insist to open the DVD FOLDER, with the files ripped on hard disc! Added a warning in the "Display CRC32 code" function to be sure that the user has disabled AnyDVD and DVD43, and that the original DVD is used.

Version 2.2
r r r

Changed the error message when a non ARccOS protected DVD is opened in the wizard. The button to use upon error is now labelled "Close" instead of "Cancel". Some minor changes in the messages of the wizard.

Version 2.3

http://forum.digital-digest.com/printthread.php?t=56078 (96 of 110)2-Feb-2006 7:32:18 PM

Digital Video Forums - PSL2 plugin ver 2.14 for PgcEdit - Backup Sony's ArccOS DVDs with DVD Decrypter

The cell number used for the remapping option in advanced mode was increased by 1 (ie, by default, cell 2 was used instead of cell 1.) Fixed a rare bug when trying to locate the original DVD Decrypter log file.

Version 2.4
r

Bug fixed: When using VobBlanker, the "Use blank cells in unref. middle ones" option was unticked, and "Use blank cells in unref. last ones" was ticked. Now, it's exactly the opposite. That should fix the problems with wrong audio file sizes and impossibility to shrink the main movie in DVD Shrink. The Reset DVD Decrypter rip settings function now resets also the Device/Disable Media Change Notification option to ON (which is the default value.) This option is now also temporarily forced when DVD Decrypter is called by the wizard.

Version 2.5
r

Wizard: The user is not prompted any more to browse to the ripped DVD folder when phase 3 (remove crap) is called immediately after phase 1 (first rip). This happens when there were no read errors during the rip. The DVD folder name is now retrieved automatically from the DVD Decrypter log.

Version 2.6
r

Clean cell commands function enhanced to remove also the new fake conditions "if { gprm(X) >= 0 }" and "if { gprm(X) <= 65535 }". Note that this is only a cosmetic change. The remove crap method worked well in previous versions. The read speed of DVD Decrypter is now forced to MAX when it is launched by the wizard and when using the "Reset DVD Decrypter rip settings" function. This can speed up the rip process of an ARccOS disc considerably.

Version 2.7
r

When post-processing the VOBs with VobBlanker v2.1 or more, his new option to renumber the VOB/Cell IDs is used instead of the option to fill the gaps with tiny black cells. (Warning: the wrong method may be used if there are several versions of VobBlanker installed on the computer!) In some rare cases ("Dark Water" zone 1), the plugin was unable to recognize some titles as protected. Fixed.

Version 2.8
r

Added an option to process all DVD files with FixVTS. It's normally not necessary, but this option can be used to remove some unreferenced material in non-ARccOS protected titlesets or menus. FixVTS beta 1.22 included. This release fixes a bug when the last cell in a VOB file was removed.

Version 2.9
r

Fixed a little bug introduced in v2.8 in the wizard: the VobBlanker option Force "Fix always VOB int pointers" was impossible to select.

Version 2.10
r

If there were illegal characters for a filename in the DVD-Text name, the default filename for the PSL file was illegal, and it was not possible to save the PSL file. Now, the illegal characters are remapped to "_".

Version 2.11
r

Support for VobBlanker 2.1. The format of the project (INI) file has changed since 2.1. The plugin is now compatible with this new format, as well as with older versions of VobBlanker. Added a VobBlanker menu, with a function to launch VB in the background with the default user options, and a function to process the current title domain with the specific 'remove crap' options. The destination folder used to rip the DVD during phase 1 of the wizard is now automatically selected by default in DVD Decrypter during phase 2. Previously, a wrong folder was sometimes used. Added a bunch of DVD Decrypter download links in the psl2_install.txt file.

Version 2.12
r

Fixed a bug in the wizard: When there are too many protected titles to be displayed in the wizard window in phase 3, step 1, the Next button was not displayed, and it was impossible to continue the process. (Cf. Toy Story 2, 10th. Aniversary, with 104 protected titles!) Added the function "Advanced mode -> After rip: Remove unreferenced Titles" to remove all fake unreferenced titles at the end of the title domains before using the standard Remove Crap pass. It is sometimes necessary to do it so to be able to remove crap on all PGCs. The wizard doesn't need this function. Little bug fixed in the Remove Crap GUI. The function crashed when the Return key was used instead of the Remove Marked Cells button to accept the dialog.

Version 2.13
r

The commands with a condition "if ( gprm(x) & 0 ) then ..." are now correctly removed from the list of post commands by the clean cell commands routine. (Fix needed to do WWE Wrestling Superstars) Clean Cell Commands: When a sprm(4), sprm(5) or sprm(6) is used in an IF condition of a cell command, it is now replaced by his current value. Makes it easier to read the command. (Currently, this new cleanup is not applied when the

You can do this process during the work with the wizard or after that the wizard is done. This is helpful if you should find the unreferenced material after that you have opened up DVD Shrink. In this way - you don't need to start the wizard and do the whole rip once again. There are four ways you can 'get rid off' the unreferenced material. (You only need to apply one solution).
