Concept of Wet Laboratory Chemical Science Experiments for Visually Challenged Everyone eats food, drinks water, juices, puts up clothes on the body, cleans teethes with toothpaste, washes clothes with detergents, takes bath with soaps, adds sugar to tea or milk and salts noted as sodium chloride to food items. Almost everyone cooks food in kitchen using cooking gas and everyone senses what is hot and what is cold where the hot or cold concepts constitute an interesting science noted as the thermodynamics. The water and cooking gas are taken in bucket of solid walls and gas cylinder of solid walls respectively. The above mentioned science is sufficient to provide a supporting ground to visually challenge to understand the science and technology being applied in daily use. The food, juice, gas and others give energy to body and noted as energy sources. The energy sources are molecules made up of atoms which are attached through bonds. The clothes do not harm body and are noted as biocompatible materials while the heat and cold harm body and are noted as non-biocompatible properties. Thus the everyday applications and experiments with the materials do develop the concept of science and technology. Thereby, the concepts, realization, experience of science in life of visually challenged through such experiments could be extended to advance their science learning through unbelievable and unthinkable inventions. The most practical and applied areas which are very familiar to visually challenged do generate faith in science and encourage to let them know more and more about several sciences and technological systems. Currently, the visually challenged are not only well aware about recent happenings but are also potential users of ICT (information communication technology) and computer based other techniques. Though the ICT gadgets are most safe and noted as dry lab concept (DLC) as the computer key is made up of most biocompatible polymer materials which do not harm the body of the user. The DLC is nice but there is an urgent need to develop the gadgets to teach science and technology to visually challenge, at least at a conceptual level. It could be in a form of wet lab concept (WLC) such as dealing with the testing a quality of water, shampoos and syrups. When the science has become a tool to resolve almost all issues then why does not the science exposure be given to visually challenge. Of course, the visually challenged need some real use science through some connecting and interacting interface such as sound that could connect them to science equipment of wet laboratories for doing some real experiments using the chemicals and apparatus. For examples, the solubility determination, understanding of dissolution, role of solute and solvent in ideal and real mixtures with high industrial potential such as herbal, ionic molecular liquid mixtures. Knitting wheat, maize, barley, oat and other flours with the water and salt is noted as interesting and daily use formulation for cooking bread and other food items. Similarly the concept of formulations of industrial mixtures could be taught them excellently and convincingly. Every day, they use toothpaste, soaps and detergents, oils, clothes, plastic made items. These are chemical products and their quality matters a lot, therefore such examples manifold the science learning and picking up confidence. Through these items, these people find science very close to them and in fact consider themselves as frequent user of scientific processes and products. There are uncountable numbers of the well-known, experienced, tested, Page 18 of 23

reliable and fearless points which constitute a concept of daily use sciences in life. Interestingly, there are several food items which make them take the science and technology as inevitable foundation of the life. For example, the rice noted as carbohydrate (source of energy for sustaining life), pulses as source of proteins that repair tissues of body, salts that catalyzes the food molecules such as carbohydrates, proteins enzymes and others. Also the oils and fats are the most significant food items to sustain life. The salts are most helpful tools for food processing and digestion which also maintain ionic balance in the body. The sugar which produces vital energy and is widely used. Taste as potential test for understanding concept of molecular structure: The tastes of salt (NaCl) and sugar will define a role of molecular structures that induce specific functions of the materials. The addition of sugar and salts to the water defines solubility and physicochemical properties due to their different structures and constituents. Even chemical bonds between atoms in different molecular structures also vibrate or oscillate with specific frequencies. If these frequencies are trapped and converted into the sound then such conversion could be an asset to visually challenge to learn the hardcore chemistry or the materials science. Of course, there are different types of the sounds being experienced in daily life. Such experiences also define optics and frequency of different sources such as car, harmonium, flute playing, fighting, storms, raining, talking, weeping, and running tractor on rods and many others let them know the outside world. Thus the sounds distinguish good mood through the sound of laughing and bad mood or sorrow through the sound of weeping or crying. Also by putting many clothes on the body in winter defines a concept insulating materials where the clothes act as insulators of temperature. Non-soluble materials as clothes are washed several times but remain un-dissolved in the detergents and the water solutions. The detergents are dissolved in the water and their solutions wash or drain out the dust particles. However, the detergents which are used to wash the clothes are solubilized in the water and wash the clothes nicely. Such experiences in daily life could develop a concept that the detergents modify the physicochemical properties of the solvents. The concept also defines that the solutions and solvents properties are different due to different additive of detergents. The dissolution of the detergents in a very smaller amount in comparison to the water makes them feel a difference in amounts of the detergents and the water as the solvent. Thus the detergents are referred to as solute and the water in bucket as the solvent. The mixtures are obtained on mixing the solute and solvent together and are also noted as the solutions. Since the water as solvent is used in dissolving the detergents then the resultants mixtures are noted as aqueous mixtures. The oil which used in daily life is organic solvent or the molecules. The clothes are degradable and the plastic is non-degradable materials.

Fundamental breakthrough for visually challenged to elevate quality of life

The visionmeter is a Scientific Eye for visionless or visually challenged, it works on Molionic Electrostatics (ME) incorporating IMA and IME, transforming and translating into acoustic dimensions such as sound, frequency, volume and others. The visionmeter is fabulous science in modern day time to eradicate miseries of most needy, talented and suffering section of society. It has opened new era, dimension, option of challenge to think high and face odds, look ahead and sky-high for best survival with new fundamental Page 20 of 23

message of Progressive Survival of the Struggle (PSS) against century old Survival of the Fittest. The PSS is leading rather than existing. Agony and atrocities being associated with visually challenged must be routed out at the earliest as they are gifted with powerful memory, reasoning, deciding wisdom, dreaming and strong articulating faculties: The visually challenged have natural talent and potential to accept and implement creative devices to sustain under all odds. Partly the visionmeter could resolve their hardship and elevate quality of life and to feel equal and similar to sighted people in daily routines. The visually challenged are not brought to scientific streams even when they have hidden talent and keen desire for learning, listening and offering significant contributions to such fields where dreaming ideas is foundation of success. If infrastructure and opportunities are given to them for thinking and working on scientific projects, they can become most competent and could contribute a lot more to society to excel and explore many more areas and frontiers as asset to the society. Presently in time of science and technology no infrastructure is given to them except ICT applications and their talent is not being captured for scientific leaning. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop facilities from a most basic levels and visionmeter is landmark in this direction. The visionmeter could act as a significant catalyst for channelizing, igniting and triggering their minds to explore something new if it is given to them for learning and using for QC and QA of modern day materials. The visually challenged could generate new applications and ample opportunities of employments with visionmeter technology. As the visionmeter addresses equality issue and opens new doors to experimental sciences. The visually challenged are the real dreamers but surprisingly are marginalized in society. The visionmeter is very useful because it is simple and based on acoustic concept and automatic in working. The PC could also be attached for further facilitation. It not only teaches to measure fluid dynamics monitored by hydrogen bonding, ionic and molecular interactions, unfolding of macromolecules, viscosity but also several other concepts of chemistry such as how to distinguish between monobasic, dibasic and tribasic acids or salts along valences. The water binding, drug loading, reacting and interacting features of the molecules. Fundamentally, it could be an asset to teach chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, hydrolysis, adsorption, solubility and solubilization, and lot more. The visually challenged can do QC of detergents, soaps, sol gels, syrups, food items, drinks, dyes, oils, petroleum and polymers along hydrogen bonding, dimmerization and aggregation etc. which are depicted over fluid profile of mixtures.

The visionmeter is easy to handle with safe and closed electronic circuits and electrical for operation and acoustics. It is fascinating and inspiring, is patented with Govt. of India and calibrated with Survismeter, a NPL standards. It aims for new gateways and ample employment to especially visually challenged women to become self-dependent.
