We are sorry for the times - When we as children have failed to heed the Christian counsel of our parents, or have refused to walk the Christian way they set before us; - When we as parents have failed to find the right mixture of discipline and love in dealing with our children, or when we have failed to recognize the uniqueness of each one of them; - When we as adults have not been sensitive to the needs of our parents as they have grown older, or have failed to honor their right to be themselves; - When we have blamed our parents for the mess in our lives, and have avoided our own responsibility for what we do. Let this day of memory and praise be one in which a new spirit of family love may rule in our hearts. Amen. Individual Confessions (pray silently) Gods Word of Forgiveness: You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.
