STATEMENT OF PURPOSE The world is ever changing.

An ambition to be a part of and to contribute to this fast changing process, a profound desire to mutate conception into reality made me opt for a Graduate program. Mind must never be kept idle because of its tremendous capacity to absorb and learn. I have always been driven by an urge to know the how and why of things, often letting curiosity get the better of me. I also believe in thoroughness in understanding because it engenders confidence in ones ability and the courage to face the world. Learning has always spelled enjoyment for me, and has fascinated me the most. To continue this journey of fascination and to develop keen interest in ever-growing world of technology, I decided to pursue a graduate program in Management Info Systems. More over, a masters degree will give me the up-to-date tools and knowledge that are the need of the hour My choice of the US as a place to continue my studies is an obvious one as the size and diversity of the highly qualified faculty, nature of the courses offered, and a chance to interact with the distinguished and learned professionals to motivate me.
EDUCATION:

In the pursuit of knowledge, I have always adopted a rigorous approach in order to attain an in-depth understanding of the subject at hand. This is amply reflected in my academic track which has been consistent all through my high school and college I secured 77% in my tenth standard school final exam. I secured 79% in my Intermediate (10+2) exams. I was also placed among the top 5 % candidates of the 1,50,000 candidates in the EAMCET examination, which helped me to gain an admission into undergraduate study with Electronics & Communication Engineering as my major at Prasad. V. Potluri. Siddhartha Institute of Technology, affiliated to the very prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. I have been maintaining a 60% in my B.Tech course for the past 3 years. The sharing of ideas, new findings have always been a vital part of my under graduate study. Firstly, presentations were a perfect opportunity for me to explore beyond the syllabus. I presented a project in National Level Competition and received a certificate from St. Annes College of Engineering. Further more, Industrial visits and summer training programs were an invaluable part of my undergraduate study. These experiences went a long way in abridging the gap between what we learn and how we use it in real world. I was an active member of both the cultural and technical clubs at our college. The past four years of undergraduate study has instilled in me the confidence and courage to take on new challenges. All this helped to develop my all round personality.

REASONS FOR OPTING MIS: During my undergraduate study I was exposed to a comprehensive curriculum. I was introduced to the topics like C and Data Structures, which fascinated me a lot. As I was introduced to the concepts of Computer Networks & Operating System etc. in my bachelors program, I realized that the computer was being extensively used to encounter problems involving multiple constraints, complex system interaction with more rapidity and flexibility as compared to the time consuming and accuracy prone manual methods. My inclination towards computers increased gradually so I enrolled myself into computer classes. The next logic step was to fuel my aspirations by progressively developing command over high level languages and systems like UNIX, C, and C++. The critical thinking and logics involved in the subject fascinated me so much that I wanted to continue my studies in a field related to computers. It was then that I got to know about MIS from a senior of mine, that MIS students will have moderate-level programming skills and a little hardware knowledge. Also, they have to get into an in-depth study of human and organizational issues surrounding the computer use. My further search on MIS made me aware of the fact that, MIS is a social science that primarily focuses on the role that computers play in human settings, either individual or organizational. MIS degree provides for the analysis and design of information systems and the knowledge of application software to develop business solutions including data management, e-commerce, communications, and office automation. All this was in accordance with my interest and sounded apt to me.It was then I decided to pursue my masters in MIS. Having gone through your prospectus and after having heard about the high standards of your university, I have strongly made up my mind to pursue my Master of Science at your school. I feel that my interests agree well with the research work at your university and I am confident that, given a chance, I will not leave any stone unturned in reaching the specific standards that my teachers set for me. Also with some of the best brains around, it will be inspiring for me to bring the best out of myself. I look forward to seeking an admission at your esteemed university with a substantial financial aid. Yours faithfully Sundeep Inkoolu
