The Holocaust is a major event in history. It is an event that will never be forgotten. The way that the Jews were treated was terrible. How everything went down and the Jews did not stand a chance. What they were put through and how they were treated will be talk about. -Nazi rise to power The Nazi felt like the Jews and the Communist have stabbed them in the back after World War I. They first tied to regain their government but that wasnt working for them. The Government that they tired to make-work was the Weimar Republic but each party tried violently to take in control of each of the parties. Then in 1919 Adolf Hitler joined a small political party and when he was serving he slowly started moving up in ranks because of his ability to give speeches and connect to people in them.( Holocaust Timeline) He eventually formed his own group called National Socialist German Workers' Party or short for Nazis Party. By the end of the 1920 that party had about three thousand members involved and supporting him. The Nazis Party started getting big the government didnt like this so they through Hitler and the other Nazis Party leader into jail. (Holocaust Timeline )The judge was nice to him after he

was put on trail and gave him a sentence of five years and

early bail. Hitler got out only after one year. He started to get back involved in the government. By 1929 the Nazi Party grew to 108,000 people who was involved and supported this group. Then in July of 1932 Hitler won the election. (Holocaust Timeline)

-Nuremberg Laws At the annual rally in Nuremberg the Nazi announce the Laws at which were racial laws. The Nazis thought nothing of them being racial they just felt like they were protecting the true German kind. They didnt want the pure Germans to have anything to do with the Jews. The laws stated that if you were any part Jewish that you should have no contacted with the Germans. (The Holocaust) That means they couldnt get married or have any sexual relationships with them. These laws also gave them no political rights at all. This law became known as

the Jew law because even if you were once a Jew and

you converted over to Christianity it didnt matter. Also if your great great grandparents were Jews you were considered one. After these laws were in place they put signs up saying were and were not that the Jews took place. But as soon as the Olympics came to the town all of those sings came down they didnt want anybody to know what was taken place and Hitler did not want his country to be viewed that way either.( The Holocaust) Another thing that the Nazi party made the Jews do is that on their ID card the letter J was put in red so that the police had an easy way of telling that they were a Jew.

-Propaganda Hitler decided to use propaganda to let the other Germans that felt uneasy about what they were doing to the Jews. He made sure that his propaganda came across in all sorts of media, art, music, theater, films, books, radio, educational materials, and the press. He should through this that the Jews were being treated just fine they were still living a somewhat normal life. These films also gave a tolerance to the violence that the Jews were facing. Hitlers propaganda made it also

look as though the government was restoring itself and becoming what it should be. He thought it was necessary to keep with the propaganda

even as the public figured out other wise about what they were doing. He felt like it was turning wrong into right.

-Kristallnacht The sound of broken glass filled the area of the streets in Germany on November 9th. That night the Nazis set out to destroy everything the Jews had left. That night they destroyed 7,000 Jewish businesses, set fire to more than 900 synagogues, killed 91 Jews and deported some of 30,000 Jewish men to concentration camps.( Kristallnacht." ) What the Nazis felt that made this action all right to do was Jew actually speaking up in front of people. The man said that being a Jew is not a crime and I have been followed around and been treated with no respect. He also stated that Jews are not dogs they can not be thrown out on the streets, The Jews have just

amount as rights that everybody else have. On the same night, November 9th, he was killed. After this happen the Nazi made sure that the Jewish business could not be reopen and if they were they have to be owned and run by no Jews. Following the announcement that the Jews could not own a business on November 15th all Jewish children was removed from school. Also the Nazi declared that what ever the Jews lost that night they cannot be held liable they have to cover the damages and what they lost by themselves.( Kristallnacht.")

-Rounding up Jews ghettos Hitler thought that it would be the best that if the all the Jews were located in an area together it would make it easy to take care of the Jews better. They felt like they could kill more and that they could control the violence that the Jews will cause. They had no feeling for the Jews and did not care how the Jews felt about this either. They started getting the all together and bring them to this town kind of things called ghettos. The ghettos were closed in

cities with really no escaping them. There was barware all around the city and the Nazi army throughout and

around the ghetto. They establish more than four hundred of these ghettos. Some of the major ghettos included the Warsaw ghetto, Lodz, Krakow, Bialystok, Lvov, Lublin, Vilna, Koyno, Czestochowa, and Minsk.

-Warsaw Ghetto This was one of the biggest ghettos it had about two million Jews living in it at one time. The Nazi took about one quarter of the Jews from this camp to the death camps and they were killed. When the rest of the Jews heard of the plan that their time is coming real soon they came up with a plan to stand up against the Nazi and not let them put them in the railroad cars.( Bard, Mitchell) When that day came the Jews had small weapons that were smuggled into the ghettos they opened fired on the Nazis and actually won a small victory of the Nazis. Then come the final deportation of the Jews to the death camps there was a battle between the Jews and the Nazi making the

Nazi retreat. Then a couple days later the Nazis came back with powerful machinery and destroyed the Jews. (Brad)

final solution which they decided that would be a mass murdering of the Jews. There plans were to more all of the Jews to Siberia and get rid of them there. There was about 11,000,000 Jews that they said would get trapped into what the Nazi was planning.( Holocaust History)
