The Summary of the Prophet Muhammad Saw Story

The Birth of Noble Person The Prophetic period of Isa AS has elapsed. His twelve followers that had spread to various parts of the country have died anyway. Gradually, the teachings of the Prophet containing a call to worship God had been forgotten by the human being. The same thing happened in the land of Mecca. In a country of Kabah, the teachings of Abraham, Moses, Isa and the preceding Prophets were ignored. Human life was full of depravity. Statues were considered as God. The girl used to be buried alive. Slaves were legalized and became a symbol of wealth. Every man who had the wealth, status and royal blood can apply arbitrarily to other humans. Though the community was really clever at trading, intelligent in writing verse, and also good at farming and gardening, but unfortunately in terms of morality and the sanctity of their lives were worse. Not surprisingly, this period was known as the period of ignorance, the foolishness. Indeed, the Ka'bah was still revered as a noble by the people from many countries, but instead hundreds of statues of idols were placed in it. Performing Hajj and also Tawaf around the Ka'bah were still done, but the prayers and sacrifices were offered to idols namely, Latta, Uzza and Manat. In such situation, one day, in the month of Rabi-Awwal, the year 570 AD, a noble baby was born. Babies born to couples who Aminah and Abdullah was given the name Muhammad, which means people who are commendable. Before the birth of Muhammad, some amazing events happened. Some parts of the Kisra palace in Persia collapsed. In this country there was the eternal flame that always kept the fire lit by the devotees, the Zoroastrian, extinguished. But the most stunning is the failure of Abraha's army plans to destroy the Kaaba. Abraha was a king in the land of Habashah. He is a religious Christian who likes to brag. At the moment he heard that the Kaaba was still used as a pilgrimage place for people from all over the country, he built a large church as a rival to the Kaaba, but not to attract the public attention. So, with great disappointment and annoyance, Abraha decided to attack Mecca and destroy the Kaaba.

Abraha set out to bring the trained soldiers in large numbers. They were sure that they will be able to conquer Mecca and destroy the Kaaba with ease because they did not just ride a horse, but an elephant. But, Allah wills the other. Abraha was just approaching the region of Mecca, a group of Ababil birds flew above Abraha's army with carrying small stones. The birds named Ababil dropped stones just above the head of the army of Abraha. Soon, the elephants troops were devastated and lost to perish. With this incident, the year of birth of the Prophet Muhammad was known as the year of the elephant.

The Special Orphan Muhammad was born as an orphan, since his father died when he was still in her mothers womb. After his birth, according to the age-long custom of the community in Mecca, a newly born baby was only nursed by his biological mother for awhile. After that, they were usually up brought by someone else who was usually the village women. The communities at that time believed, that the environment and cleaner air of the village would give better effect to the development of a child. So Muhammad was prepared for submission to a breastfeeding mother. Unfortunately, until the evening came, no one was willing to breastfeed Muhammad. They were reluctant to pick him up after knowing that the baby was an orphan whereas they really wanted to get a decent wage from the parents of the baby. Finally, when the dusk came, the women of this village returned to their homes. However, Halimah bint Abu Dzu'aib, one of breastfeeding mother that had not also got a baby to care, decided to take this orphanage baby named Muhammad. After taking Muhammad as an adopted child, this Bani Saad woman from Bani Sa'd was soon discovered that many conveniences that make her amaze. The old, thin camel which could only walk slowly, suddenly became fitter, stronger and full of milk. Halimah and her husband drank that camel's milk until they were full. When their trotting camels quickly abandoned the other camels, they knew that orphaned baby carried was really special.

The Honest Young man

Approximately, being brought up for five years by Halimah from Bani Saad, known then as Halimatus Sa'diyah, Muhammad was returned to his own beloved mother. Unfortunately, It did not take long. On the way home from a pilgrimage to the tomb of his father, her mother had died in a small village called Abwa. After the death of his mother, Muhammad was brought up by his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, the leader of the Quraysh in Mecca. The grandfather had the most tender care to his grandson who was doubly-orphaned child and did not hesitate to take him in meetings with the leaders of Mecca. Unfortunately, only about two years of Muhammad enjoyed being with his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib died and Muhammad was raised by his uncle, Abu Talib. With Abu Talib, Muhammad grew up with loving care. He loved, nurtured, educated and treated Muhammad exactly as his own child. In such situation, Muhammad grew into a capable, intelligent and kind young man. He was polite, helpful and honest. With such a good temperament, Muhammad was loved by his uncles and his relatives, and even admired by his community. He had noble mind and character so that community called him as Al-Amin, the trustworthy. As a merchant, Abu Talib did frequent business trips to various parts of the country. Not infrequently he brought along his nephew Muhammad to help him in trading. Abu Talib noticed that every time he took Muhammad to trade, then the double profit was always got. As a capable, polite and honest young man, Muhammad was able to satisfy customers until they were happy to have trade links with him. When he grew more mature, Abu Talib even several times entrusted his business affairs to be handled solely by Muhammad. A businessperson named Khadijah also heard Muhammads honesty and competence. She also entrusted the trade caravan to Muhammad and found that he always got a big profit. Day by day, Khadijah admired young Muhammad more so that she had asked for help to the relatives to find out whether Muhammad was willing to marry her. Muhammad agreed. Later, with his uncle and his relatives, Muhammad proposed Khadija. At that time, Muhammad was 25 years old and Khadijah was 40 years old.

Being a Prophet The couple of Muhammad and Khadija had peaceful and happy life. Three boys and three girls who were born from Khadijas womb had completed their happiness. Muhammad was living with a very deep love for his wife and children.

When most of the men in Mecca did arbitrary to his wife, Muhammad was very polite and loving to his wife. When most girls born were buried alive because it was considered as a shameful disgrace, Muhammad did otherwise, he was so proud of her daughters. The youngest Fatimah was often held, kissed and brought to travel here and there. Despite living in a society of ignorance, Muhammad could not even follow their habits and behaviors. He did not worship idols, did not do an arbitrary, not gambling nor drinking the wine. Even after getting married, he brought his family in the same noble value. They become a harmonious family without stained ignorance custom Going to be forty, Muhammad, who frequently engaged in meditation, thought deeply to change the bad habits of his people, often went to the Cave of Hira by himself and he was always accompanied by food and sincere prayer of Khadija. Until one day, God sent the angel, Gabriel who brought the revelation of Surat al-Alaq verses 1 to 5. From then Muhammad bin Abdullah was also appointed as a prophet and messenger of Allah.

Spreading the message of Islam Since he was appointed as the Prophet, Khadijah became the first person expressing her faith. Khadijah certainly believed Muhammad's teachings. It was not only because Muhammad was her husband, but also because she personally had knew Muhammad well before marrying him. Mohammed was Al-Amin, a trusted flawless person. After Khadijah, his family expressed their faithful to the Prophet Muhammad. They were his three children who were still alive, Umm Kulthum, Ruqayah and fatimah, Zaid bin Harithah, his foster son, and a young cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib. Outside of his family were several acquaintances and friends who also believed in him, including Abu Bakr. In the early days, the message of Islam was still done secretly. Personally and slowly, a few acquaintances began to be invited to follow the call of the Prophet Muhammad to worship Allah, the only God and to purify obedience to Him only. This call means no more servitude to idols and to humans, no more tyranny and the glory of a person based on differences in wealth, the throne and lineage. Decency, honesty and justice were upheld, Life was honored so that those who converted to Islam no longer buried his daughter alive. In this clandestine time, the Quraish had actually started to hear that Muhammad took a different doctrine from the teachings of their ancestors. Quraish started felling nervous, but they could not do anything because the Prophet Muhammad preached secretly.

Challenges and obstacles in spreading Islam Approximately three years the Prophet spread Islam secretly. Muslims became more in number so that the Quraish was increasingly suspicious on what Muhammad and his companions had done. Finally, God sent orders for the propagation of Islam to be carried out openly. So he began an open call to mankind to believe in Allah and His Messenger and to obey any commands and prohibitions of Allah and His Messenger. When this blatant propaganda was on, the Quraish soon took the fight. They denied, ridiculed and even tortured Muslims. How well the personality of Prophet and his followers were, the Qureish still deny to obey Allah and His Messenger. They did not want to leave the teachings of their ancestors in their idolatry. They also refused if their lust of the world would be restricted such as adultery, gambling, human enslavement, and other khamer drink. In fighting the prophet and the Muslims, they incessantly did taunts, insults and disorders. They referred Muhammad as witches, madmen and the Qur'an was tales of the past. They also often beat, stoned and whipped people who knew and gave their faith to Islam especially if that person was their slave, or the poor who had no possessions, status and relatives who could protect them. Worse, they even dared to suggest Muhammad, who personally during his life was given the nickname by his own people as Al-Amin, a trusted person, as a liar. Moreover, the Prophet Muhammad who was protected by Abu Talib and supported by the property of Khadjah also got the same action from them. He was ever thrown by stone, animal waste and pelted the thorns as he walked toward the Kaaba.

The stifling Boycott Despite a barrage of temptation comes, the Prophet Muhammad and his companions remained patient in the way of Islam. In fact, when his uncle Abu Thalib on behalf of the Quraish persuaded the Prophet with abundant wealth and high position to stop preaching, the Apostle replied firmly but in good manner,: "O my uncle, by Allah, if they put the sun in my right hand, and the moon on my left hand so that I abandon this mission, so occasionally I will not do that, until God let me win or perish together in this mission."

His uncle was amazed to hear the answers of his beloved niece. Moreover, he knew very well that Muhammad remained Al-Amin, the trustworthy young man whose life was no reproach. So, with a loving smile, Abu Talib gave his protection to Muhammad during his life and asked the leaders of Quraysh waiting for their answer to the inducement to leave his house. So knowing that they failed to stop the preaching of Muhammad, and even failed to persuade Abu Talib to not provide protection to Muhammad, Quraish made the heinous plan. They agreed with other clans to conduct a boycott of the Muslims and put them in a secluded valley. They were forbidden to help Muslims, to trade with Muslims, to marry with Muslims and even to give them food and drink, to make a visit , or even just to talk unless they were willing to hand over the Prophet Muhammad to be killed. Since the agreement of infidels was attached at the door of the Kaaba, the burdensome boycott of Muslims began. They were confined in remote places, away from the relatives and the companions. They could not make business and invoke any assistance. As a result, their supplies were dwindling and famine began to threaten the lives of the Muslims. Nearly three years passed. The condition of Muslims was really alarming. They starved and many of them become weak, sick, even die. Meanwhile, the boycotted relatives began to fret. Most of those who still had a sense of love could not see the suffering of their relatives. From one to two people and finally ten people determined to cancel the boycott. So they went to the Ka'bah to tear the charter of the boycott . But, what a surprise, they found that the charter had been devoured by termites, except for one word saying bismikallahuma (by Thy name, O God). So this boycott period was over.

Years of the grief Only a few months after the boycott ended, the Prophet's uncle who has been his patron died. A few months later, Khadijah, his beloved wife of the Prophet, his friends, his spirit and fund supporter, died too. How sad heart of the Prophet was because of the death of his two beloved persons. On the contrary, the deaths of Abu Talib and Khadijah's would open great opportunities for the disbelievers to further suppress the preaching of the Apostle, and to hurt him and his friends. Then the pressure was felt by Muslims repeatedly. The Messenger of Allah felt deep sorrow so that that year was named as the year of sadness or grief.

However, the Apostle and his companions did not become weak in their faith. It was true that the leaders of Quraysh, the Prophet protector, Abu Talib had died, true that real friends and a noble mission supporter, Khadija was dead. But, the unwavering faith of the Apostle and his companions believed that God was a helper and giver of true protection. Thus, It was not belittle their spirit in spreading Islam. In fact, the Prophet began to come to the tribes, and communities and societies of other countries to spread Islam.. He preached Islam to the societies of Ta'if society, the Ghifar Banu, Banu Hanifa, Banu Kalb, and the young men from Yathrib who came to perform the hajj. Some of those who called upon the Prophet refused his invitation to Islam, but a few who have faith accepted and returned to their hometown with a spirit of preaching.

Leaving Mecca The more passionate the Prophet and his companions preached Islam, the more antusias the Quraish hurt them. Many people had severe physical punishment and even death. It happened to the family of Amr ibn Yasir. Because of their unwavering faith in God, the father, Yasir and his wife Sumayyah were brutally murdered after being tortured repeatedly. Their son, Amr was also tortured and he himself even had to witness her mother's father's death. Torture by torture started making Muslims powerless. They remained strong believers, but they sometimes felt unable if they had to face punishment and to see the death of a loved one in front of them. Based on the revelation of Allah, the Prophet had already set a time for Muslims to leave their homeland, Mecca and find a place to have a better life, more reassuring lives as well as their propaganda. Based on observation of the Messenger for some time and some young man who had already believed and had been actively preaching in the midst of people, Yathrib was chosen as the best place to go. It is now known as Medina as a city of pilgrimage destination. A group by group of Muslims set off to migrate to Yathrib. Of course, the deep grief struck their hearts because they had to leave their beloved homeland, leave relatives and those relatives who actually still loved them, and also to leave all the treasures that could not be carried on a long journey to Yathrib. However, by reciting Basmallah, they left Macca in order to maintain their

religion and life. Goodbye Mecca ..

The Hijrah of The Messenger How angry the Quraish was, when a group by a group of Muslims migrated to Medina,. So they obstructed anyone who wanted to emigrate and they even planned to kill the Prophet who was still in Mecca. When the plan to assassinate the Prophet confirmed, a command of Allah to the Prophet to emigrate came. Then the Apostles were getting ready to leave by pointing Abu Bakr as a friend in this journey. However, at that time, the Quraish had prepared a plan to kill the Prophet, they have prepared the people around his house, to kill him at night any way. With the permission of Allah, the Messenger was aware of this plan and prepared a tactic to fool them. Asking Ali to sleep in his bed, he recited basmallah slowly and threw sand toward the people who guarded around his house. Subhanallah, when the Prophet stepped out of the house, none of them could see him, therefore, when they eventually intended to rush the door and lunged him in bed, they were very surprised to find there was only 'Ali ibn Abi Talib.

Build Medina Arriving in Madinah, Rasulullah immediately built the mosque which was as as the first building he founded. Medinas residents and friends who had previously emigrated helped him hand in hand. They all worked together with great earnestness and sincerity. Medina's residents had long looked forward to the arrival of the Prophet Muhammad. All this time, they knew Islam from the Muhammads companions and the Yathrib men who used to go to Mecca. But they had never met with the Prophet Muhammad, so the arrival of the Prophet greeted with great joy. In this Medina, Muslims could live in peace and peaceful. They could trade, build a family, also worship Allah freely and with this flexibility, the message of Islam are increasingly spread all over the country. Through the envoys, the Prophet sent an invitation letter to believe in God to many people, societies and kingdom anyway. Some refused, but not a few accepted the religion of Islam and spread Islam.

Meanwhile, the pagans of Mecca who did not like the development of Islamic preaching, just kept trying to find the problem. With the help of the hypocrites and Jews, they continued to impede Islam and movement of Muslims. During 10 years of the Prophets migration, Islam had spread the land of Persia and Rome. It was recorded that several major battles against the assault of the pagans, Jews and the hypocrites ended with the victory of Muslims, namely the battle of Badr, Uhud, Khandak, and Ahzab.

Good-bye, O Prophet of Allah ... After building Medina for ten years, the companions had the desire to be able to return home to their hometown. They felt confident and determined to come back to their homeland. Messenger of Allah, based on Allah's revelation would also agree with the desire of his friends who had long longing for their homeland. With good will and affection, the Prophet and his companions prepared troops to Mecca. Not to start a war, but to regain their rights in the land of Mecca used to be theirs. They were born in Mecca, be the Meccans of course, they would never forget their homeland. Previously, they left Mecca with the conditions of displaced and persecuted, but God had been changed the situation so that they could come back with a strong condition and full of glory. Hatred and vengeance of Quraish could not be demonstrated. The presence of a large number of Muslim army, full of zeal and determination made them not dare to fight as they did in the past. However, the Prophet who personally led the conquest of Mecca was totally not hold a grudge and took advantage of the situation to torment the people of Mecca. Prophet spoken to the pagans of Quraish who flocked to surrender just one short message only, "As today there is no slur to you, then you can go anywhere, because actually you are a free people." After the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet did not stay there. Prophet returned to Medina as the center city of Islamic government. Islamic preaching was increasingly widespread, and the a long journey of Prophet's mission was nearing the end ... In the midst of a growing number of Muslims and becoming strong with their faith, the last paragraph of the third verse of Surat al Maidah was revealed, "This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you and have chosen for you Islam as a religion. After this verse was revealed, Abu Bakr, the Companion knew that the Prophet would soon leave them for ever and ever.

Truly, some days after that, The messenger of Allah, Muhammad fell sick until his death on 12 Rabiul'Awal of 11th Hijriah. The friends, the earth, the sky and everything mourned. However, as the promise of Allah, Islam does not become weaker with the departure of the Prophet, "Muhammad is no more than the Messanger and indeed (Many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)? And he who turns back, not the least harm will he do to Allah, and Allah will give reward to those who are grateful. "(Ali Imran: 144) Farewell, farewell, O Messenger of God ... may we always be able to be your people who committed in His ways.
