E (Computer Engineering) 1st/2nd/3rd Semester Seminar Report Comprehensive report preparation about the seminar is the requisite for every student. The report must intricate in precise the selected topic. The format for the report is prescribed below. It is important that you adhere to these guidelines. 1. ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS: The sequence in which the project report material should be arranged and bound should be as follows: 1. Title Page 2. Certificate 3. Acknowledgement 4. Abstract 5. Table of contents 6. Index of Figures 7. Index of Tables 8. Chapters 9. References/ Bibliography 10. Appendices 11. Report Documentation and accounting page 2. PAGE DIMENSION AND BINDING SPECIFICATIONS: The dimension of the seminar report should be in A4 size. The project report should be Spiral bound using flexible cover of the thick art paper [BLACK Color]. Two copies of the report (hard copy only) should be submitted. 3. PREPARATION FORMAT: 3.1 Cover Page A specimen copy of the Title page is given in Appendix 1. 3.2 General Instructions for preparing the report contents. Paper Size: A- 4 size bond paper 1. Margins : Top: 1 (1 inch=2.54cm) Bottom: 1.15 (2.86cm) Left: 1.5 Right: 0.6 2. Line Spacing: 1.5 line 3. Title of Chapter Font: Times New Roman (Bold face)

FORMAT FOR SEMINAR REPORT

Size: 18 point Alignment: Right Alignment One thick line (2 point weight) after the name of chapter 4. Headings First Order Heading: (for example 1. INTRODUCTION) Font: Times New Roman (Bold Face) Size: 16 point One blank line before the heading (12 points) Second Order Heading: (for example 1.1. Evolution) Font: Times New Roman ( Bold Face) Size: 15 point One blank line before the heading (12 points) Third Order Heading: (for example 1.1.1. clustering) Font: Times New Roman (Bold Face) Size: 14 point One blank line before the heading (12 points) 4. Text Font: Times New Roman Size: 14 point Line Indent: First line of every paragraph should be indented By 1 cm. (Except first paragraph *) * No indent should be applied to first line of first paragraph under any Heading / Sub-Heading Alignment: Justified (Full Text)

5. Abstract (up to 150 words) Heading (i.e. ABSTRACT) Font: Times New Roman (Bold Face) Size: 16 point Two blank lines after the heading. (12 points) Remaining Text Font: Times New Roman ( Italic Face ) Size: 14 point Alignment: Justified (Full Text) 6. Chapters The chapters may be broadly divided into 4 parts (i) Introductory chapter i.e. developing the main theme of the topic (ii) Literature review of the topic selected (iii) Matter based on seminar topic (iv) Summary or Conclusions

The main text will be divided into several chapters and each chapter may be further divided into several divisions and sub-divisions. Each chapter should be given an appropriate title. Tables and figures in a chapter should be placed in the immediate vicinity of the reference where they are cited. 7. Figures and Tables: Caption Font: Garamond (Bold) Size: 12 point Alignment: Centered Figure Caption must be bellow the figure and centered, Table caption must be above the table and centered.

8. Page Numbering (Centered) Till page, TABLE INDEX : Roman (I, II, etc.) For Remaining Pages (i.e. from ABSTRACT -to- BIBLIOGRAPHY) : 1, 2, N 9. APPENDICES Appendices are provided to give supplementary information, which is included in the main text may serve as a distraction and cloud the central theme. Appendices should be numbered using Arabic numerals, e.g. Appendix 1, Appendix 2, etc. Appendices, Tables and References appearing in appendices should be numbered and referred at appropriate places just as in the case of chapters. Appendices shall carry the title of the work reported and the same title shall be made in the contents page also. 10. References / Bibliography The listing of references should be typed 2 spaces below the heading REFERENCES in alphabetical order in single spacing left justified. Should be numbered consecutively in square [] brackets, throughout the text and should be collected together in the reference list at the end of your report. The references should be numbered in the order they are used in the text. The name of the author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and other details. A typical illustrative list given below relates to the citation example quoted above Publication details and/or URL must be in Italics.

Conclusion This chapter should cover points like Observations made : pros and cons Implementation feasibility / challenges, Future scope etc.
