Methods of Teaching : Maxims of Teaching

P.K.Testing

: 1. What is this? ( Showing Rectangle) 2. How will you find out the area of a rectangle?

3. What is this? (Showing Circle) 4. What is this? ( Showing the Figure)

5. How will you define a right Circular Cylinder?

Announcement The topic : Student, today we will discuss about right circular Cylinder we shall find its total surface area too.

Teaching Point Pupil Teacher Activity Right Circular cylinder: A Right Circular Pupil teacher will tell the students about the cylinder is that which has two equal circular definition of the cylinder and Right Circular planes, parallel to each other. These circular cylinder. planes are called bases of cylinder. The line segment joining two centers of two base is called the axis of cylinder.

Black Board Activity

If r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder. Total area of Right Circular cylinder= Area of first part+ Aera of Second Part + Area of third part = Area of Circle + Area of Rectangle + Area of Circle 2 2 = r + 2 rh+ r
=

If r is the radius and h is the hight of the cylinder Total area of Right Circular cylinder= Area of first part+ Aera of Second Part + Area of third part = Area of Circle + Area of Rectangle + Area of Circle 2 2 = r + 2 rh+ r
=

Pupil teacher will ask about the area of the rectangle and circle.

2 r(r+h) Sq. Units

2 r(r+h) Sq. Units

Example : If radius of cylinder is 7 cm and height is 14 cm then find the total area of the cylinder? Solution:

Pupil teacher will solve an example

Example : If radius of cylinder is 7 cm and height is 14 cm then find the total area of the cylinder? Solution:

Radius r = 7cm Height h = 14 cm Total area of Right Circular cylinder=

=

Radius r = 7cm Height h = 14 cm Total area of Right Circular cylinder=

2 r(r+h) Sq. Units

= 2*22/7*7(7+14) cm =44*21 cm2 =924 cm2

Pupil teacher will ask the value of the

= 2*22/7*7(7+14) cm2 =44*21 cm2 =924 cm2

Finally Recapitulation : Home Work:-

1. What is the Right Circular Cylinder? 2. What is the Area of Right Circular Cylinder? Pupil Teacher will give sums of Exercise 13.1 to Solve.
