Background UNDPs Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) through its Cairo-based Regional Centre (RCC aims to become a key provider of information and news relevant to its work in the region to a wide range of external clients through its website and social media accounts. The RBAS external website is intended to serve more like a portal providing integrated information, content and knowledge services on all aspects of regional work and activities. Under the supervision and guidance of the Regional Communication Advisor, the Intern will provide support to the Content Manager in updating the UNDP regional public website and the UNDP regional social media platforms adhering to the highest standards of quality in web management and industry standards for social media. Duties and Responsibilities Under the overall guidance of the Regional Communications Advisor, and working directly with the RCC Content Mager, the Intern will be responsible for the following duties: Updating the UNDP RBAS website with news stories and publications announcements written in a journalistic style and uploading the stories on the site with the web content management system; With the support of the Content Manager, reviewing the existing content on the Content Management System and aligning it with the global the templates of the new website Soliciting contributions for the new website from UNDP practice leaders in the RCC; Receiving training on how to navigate the current CMS; With the support of IT Unit, migrating existing content of RBAS website to the new templates; Updating the UNDP Arab States social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and You Tube, on a daily basis with substantive and relevant information, monitor its usage and answer user questions;

Qualifications A Graduate university degree in one of the following areas: Mass Communications, business management or journalism The Applicant has to be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) (Masters) at the time of application and during the period of the internship; if a candidate graduates before the internship begins s/he will no longer be eligible Applicant should be able to write fluently in English and Arabic.
