NEXT STOP THE PRIMARIES

Dear MOPP Supporter
The Missouri Caucuses are now history. first time. Some Caucuses --like St. Charles County-- actually MADE history!

Overall, the Caucuses saw a record number of citizens statewide participate in the caucus process -- many for the We applaud all those who stepped forward to engage in this political process in order to exercise their Good luck and prayers to those who have been entrusted with the civic duty to have an impact on a local level.

responsibility to serve as delegates with honor and integrity all the way to the National Convention. As we move forward toward the primaries -- and the November elections -- MOPP would encourage fellow Missourians to continue to stay engaged in the process by carefully vetting candidates that will appear on the primary ballot on August 7th. NOW is the time to determine which candidate(s) is/are worthy of your support and get involved in supporting those candidates financially, spiritually and by donating your time and talents to their campaigns in order to get worthy individuals elected who are reflective of your principles and values. By becoming involved, YOU can be directly responsible for impacting the outcome of the quality and success of the campaigns of those running to fill offices from the most important position of central committee member -- to the Presidency of the United States. MOPP would also continue to encourage fellow Conservatives to step forward to become poll workers in order to ensure that there are sufficient numbers of volunteers who stand ready to oversee and guarantee the integrity of our most precious privilege as Americans the ability to vote in an election process that is as free from fraud as possible. Voter fraud can be preventedthe answer? More poll workers to keep it honest! Lastlyanother critical aspect to a successful outcome in November will be organizing volunteers to contact fellow voters in their communities -- either by phone or door to door -- in order to identify and register other Conservative voters across the State. We cannot stress enough how important EVERY SINGLE VOTE will be in There are 3,425 precincts in Missourithat November. Elections can be won or lost by as little as ONE VOTE! Example: In the 2008 presidential election there was an approximate 3903 vote difference between the 2 candidate. means the outcome could have changed based on 1+ vote PER PRECINCT!

Read on for more information and action items for WINNING IN NOVEMBER! (IMPORTANT NOTE: The last day to register to vote in order to vote in the August 7, 2012 primary is July 11 th!)

Getting Involved
by Frieda Keough, MOPP

We have 56 positions for committeemen and women in 28 Townships for St. Louis County. Did you know that 35 new individuals filed for these positions in addition to the incumbents? Coincidence?? We don't think this happened because people felt they have nothing else to do. We think people are doing this because they have been energized and are realizing that if you want to change things you need to get in the game from the ground up. And this is not just happening in St.Louisit is happening across the state. This is very encouraging and we believe pretty soon we will see changes in the Missouri Republican Party. At the last Central Committee meeting in St. Louis County, four new committee people were appointed. Ever heard of Raging Elephants? Its time for a STAMPEDE!

Winning WITH the Middle

by Frieda Keough, MOPP

We often hear how our State is divided between St. Louis/KC and the rest of the State. We believe Missouri is a microcosm of the United States heavily Democratic metropolitan centers on the East and West and a Conservative base in the middle. In order to win in November we need to work together. Did you know that in 2008 Obama lost the State of Missouri by approximately 4000 votes? That is a pretty slim margin. The 1262 precincts in St. Louis/Kansas City voted overwhelmingly Democratic. The 2092 precincts in the rest of the state voted overwhelmingly Republican. MOPP would like to challenge conservatives in the 2000+ precincts in the middle of the State to increase their registered voters/voter turnout by AT LEAST 25 VOTES! This would generate an additional 50,000 votes statewide and would help the entire State achieve a larger margin of votes which we need to ensure that Missouri stays a red state. This is a goal that could be easily attainable. We encourage everyone to do their part to get more conservative voters registered and go to the polls for the August primaries and the November elections. (Join MOPP!)

Bringing Politics Back to the People

Are you frustrated with politics controlled by special interests, big money, and top-down control that ignores the voters? So are we! If we are ever to get control of our government and change the type of people we get into office and the control that big-money currently brings, we must get directly and actively involved at the grassroots level in the twoparty system. It is not going to be easy, and it is not going to change overnight. But without this approach, we are simply reshuffling the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. Do we just want the furniture to look better before we crash into the iceberg, or do we want to right the ship and prevent it from sinking?

Building A Congressional Firewall It is vitally important that we work to elect candidates that will serve as Constitutional champions in whatever office they are elected tofrom the local to the national level. Besides maintaining a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, this is of paramount importance as it pertains to the U.S. Senate. It is imperative that a 41 vote filibuster proof majority be established in the Senate that can stand strong on the issues from Supreme Court nominations to legislation, based on the principles of social conservatism, fiscal conservatism and faithbased adherence to the Constitution in order to build a Congressional firewall. It is important that we, as voters, carefully vet candidates who will not waiver in their dedication to the aforementioned principles. Missouris U.S. Senate race is one such race. We would encourage you to get to know the candidates and ascertain who among them will stand strong against the onslaught on our liberties emanating from D.C.

May 3National Day of Prayer.A Message from Champion the Vote

Did You Know? This year is the 61 anniversary of the National Day of Prayer observance. Since the first call to prayer in 1775, when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation, the call to prayer has continued through our history, including President Lincolns proclamation of a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer in 1863. In 1952, a joint resolution by Congress, signed by President Truman, declared an annual, national day of prayer. In 1988, the law was amended and signed by President Reagan, permanently setting the day as the first Thursday of every May. Every president since 1952 has signed a proclamation encouraging all Americans to pray on this day. Last year, all 50 state governors plus the governors of several U.S. territories signed similar proclamations. It is estimated that in 2011, over two million Americans stopped their activities and gather for prayer at more than 30,000 observances at state capitols, county court houses, city halls, schools, businesses, churches and homes across the nation. A Message from Political Gravity

http://win.politicalgravity.com/what-we-do.html

If you are upset with the direction our country is headed and your moral compass is NOT broken, consider stepping up to run for a LOCAL office. See if you can handle it by sitting in on your city's council meeting and your district's school board - even if you don't have kids in school! Get out there and WATCH your LOCAL government...it pales in comparison to all our founding fathers gave!

True the Vote 2012 Summit Report by John Putnam

(MOPP Southwest Missouri Coordinator)

Voter fraud has become rampant in the US and is expected to be greater in 2012 than ever before IF citizen/patriots don't learn how to combat it at their local polling stations. I have just returned from an Election Integrity Summit sponsored by True The Vote in Houston, Texas. TTV began just two years ago and now has over 20,000 trained volunteers nationwide who are effectively stopping voter fraud in their local elections. They are recruiting 1,000,000 more watchmen (and women) before Nov. 2012, have developed data research tools that can be used from your home to identify voters that should no longer be on the voter registration roles, and are training citizens how to assist their County Election Boards in cleaning up their data. We need this training in Missouri to prevent evil forces from stealing the election this fall, especially in Kansas City and St. Louis. Missouri Precinct Project (MOPP: http://www.moprecinctproject.org/) and local Tea Party groups are considering joining the initiative to help insure election integrity in the 2012 elections. Please watch the short video linked below to learn more about True The Vote and then go to their website and register to be a volunteer. There is no obligation to stay involved long-term, but we can help advance Missouri's voter data to the front of the line by increasing the number of Missourians registered at True the vote (only 19 states are currently online). By registering, you will also receive an invitation to attend their next online orientation so you can decide if and how you want to be involved going forward. Every Poll Observer needs this training!

Below are 4 action items you can take: 1. 2. 3. 4. You can find the 9-minute TTV intro video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyBfAqcSDmY Please sign up for the next TTV orientation webinar here: http://truethevote.org/volunteer/ Learn more about the TTV 2012 Summit here: http://truethevote.org/ Get a full hour-long story behind TTV and what happened in Harris County, Texas when TTV volunteers started watching the election process, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiUxV8TYkRk

Common Sense Conversations The vision for Rally for Common Sense has always had an educational component. Between our featured speakers there will be mini-seminars on a smaller stage, covering topics such as the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, nullification and other Constitutional issues. Mark Block will provide insight on grassroots leadership. Question and Answer opportunities. Occupying Common Sense will take on new meaning. Lil Patriots Occupy What would a family style event be without bounce houses, face painting, and old-fashioned potato sack races? Not as much fun for sure! All kids activities are included with your admission ticket. Children under 16 are FREE. The Rally for Common Sense is a family event and supervised children are welcome. Historical Reenactors You never know who youre going to run into at the Rally for Common Sense. One minute you might hear Fourscore and seven years ago by Abraham Lincoln and then you round the corner and get to meet Frederick Douglass for the first time. Maybe even see Ben Franklin fly his famous kite. (Bring your OWN kite.) Who knows? Youll have to be here to find out. Candidate Central While the focus of the event is We the People, the Rally for Common Sense will host an area dedicated to the candidates that are running for election in 2012. This will be YOUR opportunity to ask the tough questions and make them EARN your vote! Vendors & Exhibitors Heres your chance to meet many Constitutional Conservative and Tea Party organizations, as well as other civic non-profits, and learn how you can become involved. Take time to support the patriot vendors, because another important element of the vision has been that these groups have an opportunity to do some fundraising. As many of you can attest, that can be very difficult. Let them know that youre occupying common sense with them. Rally for Common Sense welcomes your application particularly other non-profits that would like to do some fund raising for their own groups. See Vendor page for details. Primitive campsites tent and RV available!... See Tickets to purchase your weekend pass Open: Noon, Friday Close: Noon Sunday Sunday morning: Outdoor non-denominational church service As freedom loving patriots we dont like too many rules, but these are common sense: Fires must be self contained Be respectful of your neighbors Leave the campsite as pristine as you found it Upon your arrival there will be a volunteer(s) on site to guide you. GETTING INVOLVED IN YOUR PRECINCT

WHY:
Because we believe all politics is local Become involved at the local level to restore conservative values and principles that will then trickle UP to all levels of government MOPP is not the first to utilize this strategy Phyllis Schlafly implemented the precinct strategy to defeat the ERA 30+ years ago We believe that Missouri needed to join the ranks of other states with similar efforts, including Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Utah. We want to encourage Missourians across the State to work in their own communities and counties to make a difference

WHAT:
MOPPs 4 pronged strategy: 1. Key element (hence the name Missouri Precinct Project): Identify the 40-50% of the unfilled precinct/township committee positions in their county that go unfilled. (many of our members have filed to fill these positions across the state ie., St. Louis County stat, 35 new) 2. Get out the Conservative vote a. MOPP encourages its members to utilize our database (we are in the final stage of determining which program we will be using) to canvass their neighborhood to identify and register conservative voters, educate voters on issues and candidates and get them to the polls on election day. b. MOPP also partners with Champion The Voteencouraging our volunteers to become Champions in the Champion the Vote program to register unregistered Christian voters. (*in Missouri in 2008 there was only a 4000 difference between the 2 presidential candidatesthats a pretty close margin, but yet there are approximately 150,000 unregistered Christians in the State.) Go here to become a Champion http://championthevote.com/headquarters/missouri 3. 4. Encourage becoming a poll worker to help prevent voter fraud. Build and maintain a database in order to form a more effective coalition, united voice for Conservatives across the State

HOW:
Educate/Motivate 1. Precinct training seminar last October partnering with Dallas Tea Party and American Majority 2. Precinct Organizing and Preventing Voter Fraud training (Feb 2012) 3. Caucus Training Seminar 4. Training Manuals --Caucus 101 Handbook (We are very pleased at how many grassroots individuals participated in the recent caucuses, even though they have never been involved before) Note: MOPP will soon release 1) Precinct Training Manual and a 2. Becoming a Poll Worker manual. 5. Newsletter 6. Blast emails 7. Action alerts 8. Presentations to various groups statewide 9. COMING SOON: WINNING IN NOVEMBER Seminar.watch for details.

IN SUMMARY:
If we are ever to get control of our government and change the type of people we get into office and the control that bigmoney currently brings, we must get directly and actively involved at the grassroots level in the two-party system. It is not going to be easy, and it is not going to change overnight. But without this approach, we are simply reshuffling the chairs on the deck of the Titanic. Do we just want the furniture to look better before we crash into the iceberg, or do we want to right the ship and prevent it from sinking?

Mission Statement
Restore Constitutional principles and conservative values by engaging conservatives in grassroots politics.

NOTABLE QUOTES
FOUNDING FATHER, THOMAS JEFFERSON, ON SEPARATION OF POWERS PERTAINING TO WARDS AND PRECINCTS "The article... nearest my heart is the division of counties into wards [precincts, townships]. These will be pure and elementary republics, the sum of which taken together composes the State, and will make of the whole a true democracy as to the business of the wards, which is that of nearest and daily concern. The affairs of the larger sections, of counties, of States, and of the Union, not admitting personal transactions by the people, will be delegated to agents elected by themselves; and representation will thus be substituted where personal action becomes impracticable. Yet even over these representative organs, should they become corrupt and perverted, the division into wards constituting the people, in their wards, a regularly organized power, enables them by that organization to crush, regularly and peaceably, the usurpations of their unfaithful agents, and rescues them from the dreadful necessity of doing it insurrectionally. In this way we shall be as republican as a large society can be, and secure the continuance of purity in our government by the salutary, peaceable, and regular control of the people." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:70 "Divide the counties into wards of such size as that every citizen can attend, when called on, and act in person. Ascribe to them the government of their wards in all things relating to themselves exclusively. A justice chosen by themselves, in each a constabe, a military company, a patrol, a school, the care of their own poor, their own portion of the public roads, the choice of one or more jurors to serve in some court, and the delivery within their own wards of their own votes for all elective officers of higher sphere, will relieve the county administration of nearly all its business, will have it better done, and by making every citizen an acting member of the government, and in the offices nearest and most interesting to him, will attach him by his strongest feelings to the independence of his country and its republican Constitution." --Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:37

"The whole state must be so well organized that every Whig can be brought to the polls. So divide the county into small districts and appoint in each a committee. Make a perfect list of the voters and ascertain with certainty for whom they will vote... Keep a constant watch on the doubtful voters and have them talked to by those in whom they have the most confidence... On Election Day see that every Whig is brought to the polls. --- Abraham Lincoln, Letter to a friend, 1840"
