2012 Section 4AAA True Team Track and Field Meet

Elk River High School Tuesday May 8, 2012 This years True Team Sectional Meet will be held at Elk River High School on Tuesday May 8th. Participating Schools Boys and Girls
Andover, Anoka, Champlin Park, Coon Rapids, Elk River, Maple Grove, Osseo, Park Center, and Rogers.

Coaches Meeting Time Day of the meet, 3:15 pm, cement slab next to white track shed.-NW corner of the track -Coaches please stay away from the finish line and out of the press box please! General Information 1. Concession Stand will be opened the day of the meet. 2. No Camps on the infield-use the north and northeast area outside the track for camps 3. No Footballs, Frisbees, Soccer Balls, anywhere in the track and field complex. 4. The marshalling area will be on the northwest corner of the track next to the track shed. 5. Team trophies will be awarded to the first place teams, ribbons will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams. Remind your parents that there will be a spectator fee: $6.00 adults and $3.00 for students. Spectators should enter between the tennis courts. Number of Entries 3 competitors per event and one relay per team. Schedule of Events We will have four heats of each events-Three heats with 7 competitors and one with 6 competitors. In addition, we will have 2 heats of each relay-one with 5 teams and one with four except the 4x800 relay. All finals, no prelims: whenever there is more than one heat, the first heat will be the slow heat, the second heat will be the next fastest, and the third heat will be the second fastest and the fourth heat the fastest. Lanes will be randomly selected by computer. -1600 and 3200 Meter Runs-athletes will be placed in alleys and waterfall-#1 runner in the alley position. Distance Coaches-We need you to count laps for your athletes during the 3200 M run-Finish Line area Scoring: Individual Events 27-26-25-24-23-22-21-20-19-18-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 Relay Events 36-32-28-24-20-16-12-8-4 Athlete Rosters Your team roster should be on the MSHSL website by May 4th. The weekend before the meet you will be emailed athletes competitors numbers. Please write numbers in black ink on the back of the athletes left hand before you arrive at Elk River. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR ATHLETES GET THE RIGHT NUMBER.

4 Throws-3 flights 4 jumps-Cafeteria Style Starting heights will be 400/500 for High Jump, 600/800 for Pole Vault Athletes will use a 3 Alive procedure in the jumps and vault. We will use two high jump pits, one for the boys and one for the girls. **Field Events participants excused to participate in a running event will be given 7 minutes following their race, to begin competition in their field event. They must check out with the field event judge. Student workers Each school will be responsible for providing three total students for the entire meet. Assignments as follows Andover Shot Put(both genders) Anoka Pole Vault(Bar/standards)(All day) Champlin Park Discus(both Genders) Coon Rapids Assist with Long Jump/Triple jump(both genders) Elk River Hurdles/Starting blocks/sub for others Maple Grove Long Jump Rakers (Both genders) Osseo High Jump(Girls) Park Center High Jump(boys) Rogers Triple jump Rakers (both genders) Games Committee Both genders: Maple Grove, Anoka, Rogers All bring copies of rules book and case book if you have one. (Alternate is Osseo if issue involves one of the Committee teams) Exchange Zones(Coaches) Exchange Zone Assignments: 4x200 Relay-Zones 1-2-3(2 Coaches at each zone), 4X100 Relay-Zones 1-2-3, 4x400 Cut Line 4x200 Zone 1 and 3-Andover and Anoka, Zone 2-Coon Rapids and starters 4x100 Zone 1-Maple Grove and Osseo, Zone 2 Park Center and Champlin Park, Zone 3 Rogers, and Elk River We need you at the start/finish line during the 3200 M Run to count laps for your competitors. We will have 27 runners in each heat.
