Removing the outeR jACKet

1. Slide parts onto cable as shown. 2. At 7 inches from the cable end, score the circumference of the outer cable jacket. 3. Create a slit from to the end of the cable.

4. Flex the scored points and remove the outer jacket.

5. Push the braid back toward the overjacket, creating a bulge in the braid. Where the braid exits the outer jacket, bend the cable over on itself creating an elbow. Using a small screwdriver, create an opening in the braid at the bend elbow.

6. Keeping the braid pushed towards the elbow, push the cable upward through the braid opening.

Removing the inneR jACKet

7. After the cable is pushed through the braid, pull the braid tight. This will be the heater ground wire. 8. At 1 inch from the braid exit point, score the circumference of the inner jacket. 9. Then score the inner jacket from the circumference cut toward the cable end. Do not cut into the heater core.

10. Flex the scored point and remove the inner jacket, exposing the heater core.

11. Shave the core material from the outside of each bus wire.

12. At the cable end, create a V notch.

15. Slide heat shrink tubes into place against conductive core. Shrink tubing, moving side to side to ensure the tube is not scorched.

16. Center 1 shrink tube 17. Slide bulkhead into over the end of the heatposition. ing cable as shown. Pinch with pliers while still hot and hold for 15 seconds to ensure seal.

18. Make connections in an approved box for the application.

teRminAtion instRuCtions

1. Strip the outer jacket at 3/4. DO NOT CUT INTO THE INNER JACKET.

2. Unravel the ground 3. Trim off the ground braid braid.

4. Heat shrink tubing in place with 3/8 over end of heating cable. Remove heat and squeeze with needlenose pliers. Hold for 15 seconds to ensure a watertight seal.

5. Heat shrink boot in place over smaller heat shrink tube.

6. Heat until inner sealant starts to appear out from the boot edge.
