Technical Support 1. INTRODUCTION ================================== Thank you for purchasing Fahrenheit! Below you ll find the latest information on g ameplay changes, manual errata, troubleshooting tips, hints, driver links and Te chnical Support information. 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ================================== Operating System: Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP Processor: Pentium III 800 MHz or faster Memory: 256 MB RAM Hard Disk Space: 4.0 GB Free DVD-ROM Drive: 1x speed or faster Video: 32 MB Hardware T&L-compatible video card* Sound: Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP-compatible sound card DirectX: DirectX version 9.0c (included) or higher *32 MBvideo cards with no support of hardware T&L, such as the Nvidia Riva TNT or any Intel integrated video card, are not supported. 3. PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE GAME ================================== Before installing Fahrenheit, please verify that your computer meets the minimum requirements listed above. We also recommend preparing your hard drive for installation by running ScanDisk and Disk Defragmenter prior to installation. These utilities are part of Window s and can identify and resolve problems with your disk drive which could hinder installation and/or playing of the game.

To launch these programs and optimize your hard disk drive: 1. Open "My Computer". 2. Right-click the disk drive you wish to install the game onto (usually C:) 3. Select the "Tools" tab. 4. Click "Check Now" to launch Scandisk. When Scandisk has completed, follow steps 1-3 and click "Defragment Now" to laun ch Disk Defragmenter. Note that defragmenting your disk drive can take a long time. It's a good idea t o start disk defragmenter and let it run overnight. 4. WINDOWS USER PERMISSIONS ================================== If you are running Windows 2000 or XP you must be logged in as the Administrator to install Fahrenheit. However, once installed, the game will be available to a ll other users including those with non-Administrator privileges. 5. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ================================== 1. Start Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP and/or exit all running applications. 2. Place the Fahrenheit DVD into the DVD drive. 3. If AutoPlay is enabled, click the install option on the AutoPlay menu that ap pears. If AutoPlay is not enabled, or the installation does not start automatica lly, click on the Start button on your Windows taskbar, then on Run. Type D:\Setu p and click on OK. Note: If your DVD drive is assigned to a letter other than D, substitute that letter. 4. Fahrenheit requires that DirectX 9.0c be installed on your computer. The prog ram will look for DirectX 9.0c. If it does not find it, it will give you the opp ortunity to install DirectX 9.0c from the DVD during the game installation proce ss. 5. Follow the remainder of the on-screen instructions to finish installing the F ahrenheit game. 6. RUNNING THE PROGRAM ================================== Place Fahrenheit DVD in the drive from which you installed the game. Follow the Autorun prompt for playing the game. Or: 1. Click on the Windows START button. 2. Click on PROGRAMS. 3. Click on Atari. 4. A submenu will open. Click on Fahrenheit; the start-up screen will appear. Fo llow the on-screen prompt. Note: You must have the Fahrenheit game disc in your DVD drive to play. 7. UNINSTALLING Fahrenheit ================================== 1. Click on the Windows START button. 2. Click on PROGRAMS. 3. Click on Atari. 4. Click on Fahrenheit. 5. Click on uninstall. Follow the on-screen prompt.

Or choose the option add/remove program from your windows menu. Please note that the save files are stored under the following location "user\my documents\atari\Fahrenheit Profile. They can t be removed by the automatic uninsta ller process and need to be deleted manually. 8. KNOWN ISSUES / INCOMPATIBILITIES ==================================== ***If you experience any graphical problems, please install the latest video dri vers available for your video card. ***If you experience any sound problems, please install the latest sound drivers available for your sound card. Links to the most popular video and sound card manufacturers are available in th e TROUBLESHOOTING AND TIPS FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE section. The installation time can be longer than the ones indicated by the Installshield progression bar. Thanks in advance for waiting until the full completion of the installation. INPUT DEVICES *If your PC is running Windows 98SE, and you have the LOgitech Gaming Software i nstalled, you may experience difficulty remapping your controller buttons if you are using the following gamepads: Logitech Logitech Logitech Logitech Logitech Dual Action Gamepad Rumblepad 2 Vibration Feedback Gamepad Cordless Rumblepad 2 Cordless RumblePad Wingman RumblePad

As a workaround try uninstalling the Logitech Gaming Software but you may lose v ibration support. VIDEO DEVICES * As is noted in the minimum requirements not all video cards have hardware tran sform and lighting support even though they have the required video memory avail able.
