A. PRESENT TENSE

1. Simple Present Tense Formula: + } S + V1 ( s/es ) + O/C - } S + Do/Does + not + V1 + O/C ? } Do/Does + S + V1 + O/C Example: (+) She likes durian. (-) She doesnt like mango. (?) Does she like durian? Yes, she does. / No, she doesnt. 2. Present Continuous Tense Formula: + } S + Be + V1 + ing + O/C - } S + Be + not + V1 + ing + O/C ? } Be + S + V1 + ing + O/C Example:

(+) He is playing badminton now. (-) He isnt playing football now. (?) Is he playing badminton now? Yes, he is. / No he isnt. 3. Present Perfect Tense Formula: +} S + Have/has + V3 + O/C -} S + Havent/hasnt + V3 + O/C ?} Has/Have + S + V3 + O/C Example: +} She has been to Rome. -} She hasnt been to Venice. ?} Has she been to Rome? Yes, she has. / No, she hasnt. 4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense Formula: +} S + have/has + been + V1 + ing + O/C -} S + have/has + not + been + V1 + ing + O/C ?} Have/has + S + been + V1 + ing + O/C Example: +} She has been visiting Malang twice so far. -} She hasnt been visiting Bali twice so far. ?} Has she been visiting Malang twice so far? B. PAST TENSE

1.Simple Past Tense Formula: +} S + V2 + O/C -} S+ Didnt + V1 + O/C ?} Did + S + V1 + O/C Example: +} He bought some fruits yesterday. -} He didnt buy some vegetables yesterday. ?} Did he buy some fruits yesterday? Yes, he did. / No, he didnt. 2. Past Continuous Tense

Formula: +} S + Was/Were + V1 + Ing + O/C -} S + Was/Were + not + V1 + Ing + O/C ?}Was/Were + S + V1 + Ing + O/C

Example: +} She was reading a novel last night. -} She wasnt reading a magazine last night. ?} Was she reading a novel last night? Yes, she was. / No, she wasnt.
3. Past Perfect Tense Formula: +} S + had + V3 + O/C -} S + had + not + V3 + O/C ?} Had + S + V3 + O/C Example: +} I had painted my motorcycle black. -} I hadnt painted my car black. ?} Had I painted my motorcycle black? Yes, I had. / No, I hadnt. 4. Past Perfect Continuous Tense Formula: +} S + Had + Been + V1 + Ing + O/C -} S + Had + Not + Been V1 + Ing + O/C ?} Had + S + Been + V1 + Ing + O /C Example: +} Your father had been playing badminton. -} Your father hadnt been playing tennis. ?} Had your father been playing badminton? C. FUTURE TENSE

1. Simple Future Tense Formula: +} S + Will + V1 + O/C -} S + Will + Not + V1 + O/C ?} Will + S + V1 + O/C Example:

+} We will attend the seminar tomorrow. -} We wont attend the art exhibition tomorrow. ?} Will we attend the seminar tomorrow? Yes, we will. / No, we wont.

2. Future Continuous Tense Formula: +} S + Will + Be + V1 + Ing + O/C -} S + Wont +Be + V1 + Ing O/C ?} Will + S + Be + V1 + Ing + O/C Example: +} I will be writing a short story. -} I will not be writing a poetry. ?} Will I be writing a short story? Yes, you will. / No, you wont. 3.
