Professional summary : Forest station is the primary unit of protection of the
allotted forest area. The station head is the Deputy Ranger

station. Each section may be divided into two beats and
Forest Guards are responsible for the beats. The area of
Forester consists of both forest and non forest area. The
area of a Forester may be ranging from ten to thirty square
Kilo Meters. The khaki uniform of Forester includes a pair

Duties of a Forester : Protection of the allotted forest area (Section) is the

primary duty. The other duties include the complete
inspection of the following works viz.

Thinning in the appropriate cycles,
Final felling;
Contour trenching,
Gully plugging,
Surveying,
Preparation of surveyed sketches;
Prevention of the illegal activities viz.
Poaching,
Theft of forest produce,
Brewing,
Cannabis cultivation,
Encroachment etc.;
Implementation of the forest laws;
Nab the accused,
Produce them before the honorable courts seize the govt.
