Website & Design Intern Paid Position

Campaa Quetzal (CQ) is a non-profit organization that works towards improving academic achievement and opportunities for Latino students and families in Washington through parent and youth leadership and advocacy training. Since 2005, Campaa Quetzal has been educating and engaging the Latino Community on educational issues and developing opportunities for cultural enrichment and parent leadership. Campaa Quetzal seeks a Technology Assistant. This position will primarily help with revising the website to a new platform. General Duties: Update and move organizations website from joomla to a different platform (wordpress strongly considered) Update content; create, collect and modify images to be uploaded; upload pictures; research, recommend and implement changes to design and content) Assist with listserv and newsletter ensuring consistent branding across website and all media Collaborate with Staff and Student Intern to incorporate new content Communicate regularly with the staff of CQ and work under the supervision of the Executive Director (ED) of Campaa Quetzal. Attend meetings with CQ staff and Board for feedback and development. Ideal for students interested in technology, communications, computer science and/or website design development and graphic design Requirements: Experience creating and updating web pages using HTML and CSS Experience with Wordpress Ability to work well independently and collaboratively and to meet deadlines Website experience Communication design experience (brochures, websites, etc.) Enjoy technology and interested in developing new online marketing options Be available on some weekends Additional Desired Skills: Familiarity with Joomla (training is available) Bilingual (Spanish and English)

Compensation/Duration: Total project must be completed by June 15, 2012. Compensation is $15/hr for up to $2000. Potential to continue through the following year.
