UTILITY PIPE LINE IDENTIFICATION Identification and Location The color-coding of utility pipeline shall be accomplished by using the base color of pipe material or by color-coded longitudinal stripe on the surface of installed pipe, upon approval by MARAFIQ. When the entire pipeline is of the base color, the stripe will not be required. Base color is an integral part of the pipe and shall be extended throughout the thickness of pipe. Stripe width shall be one third of the pipe diameter for size 100 mm diameters and above. For pipe size less than 100 mm diameter, stripe shall be one half of the pipe diameter. For exposed portion of below grade pipelines, the stripe shall be applied for the entire length of the pipeline except at valves, tees, tanks, vessels and pump locations.
