Memo No.WBSCVE&T/S/2011-12/3402 Dated: 26-8-2011 To The Head Master / Head Mistress / Principal / Officer In-Charge / Teacher InCharge _________________________________ [VTC Code No.__________] _________________________________ Sub : Inclusion of Photos in the VTC Management Software Sir / Madam, In connection with entry of photos in the VTC Management software, all concerned may choose any one of the following options : 1) A Digital Camera with USB connectivity may be procured in the price range of Rs.3,500/- to a maximum of Rs.5,000/-. The camera in that price range may be any one of the following models: Sony DSC-S3000 Nikon Coolpix L23 Canon Power Shot A800 Fuji C20 Kodak CD44 or similar models / make 2) Alternatively, a suitable Mobile phone with Camera facility featuring USB connectivity with computer may be procured subject to a maximum limit of Rs.2,000. The Govt. is being approached seeking approval for allowing VTCs to incur this expenditure for any one of the aforesaid items from their available non-recurring head of account in the subhead Tools and Equipment subject to a limit of Rs.50,000/- per trade/course or from miscellaneous expenditure head subject to a limit of Rs.30,000 (only VIII+) and Rs.60,000 (X+) or Rs.90,000 (VIII+ and X+). 3) Alternatively, VTCs may opt for scanning services from third party. For this, at least 9 photos (3 rows x 3 columns) can be pasted on an A4 size paper and after scanning, the scanned file can be cut/cropped with a suitable Image processor software. Typical scanning charge may be around Rs.10 per A4 size page. The expenditure incurred in scanning may be debited from the Training Materials/Contingency head in the Recurring grant allotted to VTCs. 4) Alternatively, VTCs may share digital cameras or camera-phones with neighbouring VTCs which have necessary provision for arranging this facility. In this context, it may be specifically noted that under any circumstances no additional financial grant in any form is available for procuring digital cameras/phones or scanning services.
