A Precious Mother Mom You've given me so much, Love from your heart and the warmth of your touch.

The gift of life and you're a friend to me. We have a very Special Bond which only comes from God... I'm sure you agree. As a child I would say Mommy I Love You, Now you're my Mother so dear I love you even more with each and every new year. If I could had chosen, I would have picked no other. Than for you...to be my lifelong friend and Precious Mother.

My Mother My Friend You were my fairy tale princess, So much larger than life. You were my angel and my witness Through all my pain and strife.

At times you made me angry, Great words I would proclaim How someday you'd be sorry. You were the one to blame.

But when I needed comforting You always found the time. Your words were more soothing Than days of childhood sublime.

Now the distance holds us apart, My Fortune, My Mother How much I love you I can't say: It's more than words can hold. You're all at once my rich, red clay, My potter and my mold. Yours the words that shaped my voice, The spirit within mine. Yours the will that shaped my choice, My fortune, and my sign. Mother Mothers are the place where love And happiness rings out like bells In honor of our birth. Mothers are the sun that lights For life our inner sky, How lucky I was to have had you At the core of me! Wise and good, you always knew Just what I could be. Mothers are the moon that shines Upon our black despair, And so I came to be someone Whom I could be proud of. For this I give my swollen sum Of gratitude and love. So even when we weep, we know That someone's always there. Whatever fear, or stress, or pain Might them to anger move, We know that underneath the storm We have, always, their love. So we may know that we are loved And need not question why. The boundaries have no end. I'll hold the memories in my heart. You're my mother, my best friend
