2. An opening speech at a PIBG/ Parent- Teachers Associations Annual Meeting.

Good Afternoon Parents and fellow Teachers, Im (Your name), the President of the Schools ParentTeachers Associations. I am here today to give an opening speech for our Annual Parent-Teachers Associations Meeting. The objective of this meeting is to better understand your kids situation and learning pace in our school. After a meeting with my committee, I have decided to broaden todays agenda of the meeting by adding one more segment which is to understand the extra curriculum your kids are taking up- Success For Living (SFL). I urge all parents to motivate and give your child moral support. First of all, I would like to elaborate more on our extra curriculum- Success for Living (SFL). SFL is an extra timeslot added into your childs timetable, to allow our school to bring your child out for learning journeys to learn things that they cannot learn in school. During in-school seasons, we would hire motivation groups from outside to teach the kids how to better manage their time and stress. We also provide character enrichment lessons to better enrich your child with the way they speak and carry themselves. I am sure you will agree it is important that they understand that our education puts emphasis on character development. Secondly, having interactive lessons could allow students to broaden their thinking and mind-set. From my viewpoint, the extra curriculum is very engaging and hence they could also allow the students to bond with each other and to understand their friends more. For example, the activities SFL plans includes bonding games where around 15 students get tied together, and they have to cooperate with each other to get through all the obstacles set for them, but still come back as one. Therefore, they could make use of teamwork to work better in class and achieve better results together. I am definite that they would look forward to every weeks SFL and realise their strengths and potential. In addition, I urge all parents to motivate your child or maybe understand what each weeks SFL teaches. Parents too can learn together with your child and be a role model. In conclusion, I feel that SFL is really a expandable curriculum because students can have fun at the same time and also learn more about themselves.
