PURPOSE To cultivate, manage, and expand a volunteer driven, cost-effective, donor-oriented fundraising program that generates financial resources to meet the organizations mission. QUALIFICATIONS Must possess strong communication skills, (written and oral), including public speaking experience. Ability to use software (MS office, Excel/ Word and ANDAR) and other technology to manage data and compose reports. Ability to interpret computer-generated reports and analyze data. Understanding of the non-profit sector and an awareness of local business environment. General attributes should include: ability to manage several projects simultaneously, work effectively with people from different backgrounds - respect diversity, participate effectively on teams, work with modest supervision and posses a positive can-do attitude. Minimum of three years experience in related fundraising. Bachelors degree with a major in communications, social sciences or business preferred. Ability to lift 40 lbs and have current drivers license and automobile insurance. Perform as a valued member of the Resource Development Team and bond, strengthening the internal United Way of Fresno County team SPECIFIC SKILL AREAS Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills Strong public relationship skills, persuasive communicator with ability to present a compelling case for support to groups ranging from 5 to 250+ employees. Understanding of fundraising - workplace giving campaigns, leadership and major gifts, special events, sponsorships and other significant approaches to generating revenue. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines, both independently and as a member of the Resource Development Team. Aptitude and attitude to promote community engagement and volunteerism on a yearround basis among assigned accounts MAJOR ELEMENTS Develop and manage general campaign plan. Work with Campaign Cabinet Chair(s) and Resource Development staff on development of new accounts and recruitment of campaign volunteers.

Develop short and long-term goals (year round engagement plans). Translate the organizations vision and values into activities and behaviors. Identify accounts requiring a CEO visit and ensure all account information is current and accurate. Assist with development, ordering, and distribution of campaign materials. Act as primary staff for assigned accounts, maintaining accurate records, meeting or exceeding fundraising goals. Analyze campaign results to provide goals and strategic plans to accounts Implement campaign best practices and new fund raising techniques to ensure maximum campaign results. Attend accounts special event activities designed to increase donations. Relationship building with established and prospective new accounts.

Day of Caring Work closely with the Marketing Director being actively involved from the beginning stages of planning through completion of the event. Engage local businesses, service groups, organizations and individuals to participate. Engage local volunteers to participate. Campaign Kick-off Work closely with the Marketing Director being actively involved from the beginning stages of planning through completion of the event. Be a Team Leader; ensure your portion of the day of event is well organized, planned and executed. Engage local businesses, service groups, organizations and individuals to participate. Staff - Campaign Cabinet Sub-Committee Work closely with Co-Chairpersons to ensure UWFC message is presented clearly and concisely when making CEO visits Attend monthly committee meetings. Contact Cabinet members for updates to the New Account Development system. Attend key community events and activities Attending Chamber events (mixers) helping to expand community understanding of United Way's community goals. Establish contact with organizations, businesses and individuals increasing our circle of influence. Solicit sponsorship dollars leveraging corporate marketing dollars with United Way Co-brand opportunities. Sponsorship opportunity information sheet will be provided by the Marketing Department. Participate in the planning of as well as attending key Resource Development events This includes Leadership and Tocqueville Receptions and others as established. Assist in other functional areas of the United Way of Fresno County as requested. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA/BS degree preferred or 3 years equivalent work experience. COMPUTER SKILLS Required: Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite including: Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Desired: Donor tracking software (ANDAR) LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to analyze information, write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, community based organizations and the general public. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Possess a valid California Drivers License and verifiable automobile insurance. Must have use of a reasonably reliable automobile or equivalent vehicle for transportation to scheduled events.
