Products
Cement (1
Lafarge, the world leader in cement, has designed a diversified product range intended .for construction professionals A rich and varied range Lafarge cements are designed to respond to the requirements of all of the Group's customers. Its broad range of products is suitable for industrial players, individual :customers and architects Portland cements: high-quality basic building materials that are both efficient and ,versatile cements for different types of environments: products suitable for exposure to sea ,water, sulfates and other aggressive environments special cements for specific applications: including white cements for architectural projects, cements for well drilling operations, cements containing silica fume or fly ash, pozzolan cements, and cements for road surfacing that incorporate slag and hydraulic ,binders .cements for masonry and mortars for concrete blocks, tiles, rendering, stucco, etc These different cements can all be used to produce concretes with a variety of .characteristics and properties

Lafarge lower carbon cements

All around the world, Lafarge offers ranges of cements with lower CO2 emissions compared with traditional cements. These multi-component cements contain less clinker, whose production is responsible for a large proportion of cement's carbon footprint. As a substitute, they incorporate by-products from other industries, such as slag from steel production or fly ash from coal-fired power plants. Lafarge lower carbon cements also have high mechanical performances, often combined with specific workability qualities. When incorporated into concretes, they improve their long-term resistance compared with that of traditional concretes. They can be used in all types of constructions and infrastructure including large structures with very specific requirements, such as: stadiums bridges & footbridges dams skyscrapers

Lafarge white cements

White cement is a hydraulic binder whose physical characteristics correspond to those of Portland grey cement. It is distinguished by its pure white color. This whiteness is the result of nature, as well as the rigorous selection of raw materials used in manufacturing .and a technologically advanced production process The light and luminous color of Lafarge white cements makes them particularly well suited to uses where appearance is of prime importance. For example, they are used to manufacture white or colored mortars which cover the faades of private homes and .multi-storey buildings Lafarge white cements are also used in the composition of white cement concrete. This can be used to create all shapes and colors and is highly prized by architects and urban :planners. It is used in precast elements such as ,architectonic concrete ,internal or external floor coverings ,faade elements ,street and garden furniture .the construction of swimming pools

Sensium, the next-generation cement

Sensium technological cements were launched in France in 2007. They are innovative :in 3 key respects cleaner and more comfortable to use, their dust-free composition makes it easier to ,obtain an excellent finish

mortar that is easier to handle and more workable, concrete which is more fluid and easier to spread. Sensium requires less effort during application and makes ,construction work easier accelerated hardening and increased resistance results in a substantial gain in .productivity on building sites

Aggregates (2
Extracted from quarries, crushed and then calibrated, aggregates appear in a range of .products, including gravel, broken gravel and sand. They have many uses The 3 functions of aggregates Aggregates are fragments of rock measuring from 0.08 to 80 millimeters in diameter. :Examples of their uses include ,road and highway surfaces ,railway ballast ,fill material .sand traps in golf courses, beaches, playing field surfaces, horse racing tracks, etc They can also be mixed with a binder - either cement to make concrete or tar to make .asphalt - and used in the manufacture of houses, structures and bridges :They have 3 main functions support, thanks to their strength. Research into high-performance concrete and bituminous concrete has shown that the strength limits of materials depend, in part, on the aggregates they contain. Aggregates make a vital contribution to the strength of .materials filling: aggregates make mixtures more compact, facilitating specific applications .including drainage, weatherproofing and heat retention embellishment, thanks to their aesthetic qualities. Sand gives surface treatments their brightness. Local chippings lend their specific colors to many different types of concrete and concrete products, including tinted and stained concrete, interlocking concrete .paving, industrialized concrete slabs and panels, and road paving Concrete

Lafarge asphalt solutions with high environmental added value

The Lafarge Research Center is developing innovative road construction solutions offering cutting-edge environmental performance. Lafarge markets these high value:added products in North America Duraclime: as a result of its reduced manufacturing temperature, this aggregate-based road surface reduces fossil fuel consumption (by up to 30%) and greenhouse gas emissions (up to 30% over a lifecycle of 15 years). It also releases less smoke and fewer odors than traditional asphalt solutions, offering better air quality and greater comfort to

site workers and local residents. With its standard compactness, Duraclime extends .the lifespan of roads in temperate or colder climates Duracycle: this is a range of hot-mix asphalt containing large quantities of recycled raw materials. Old road surfaces, sand, crushed glass, waste recovered from other industries, such as tires, railroad ballast and roof shingles are used in its composition. Results include: a reduced need for natural aggregates and greenhouse gas emissions cut by 10% over the product's whole lifespan. Without forgetting excellent performance in terms of mechanical resistance, particularly in the case of low temperatures and .humidity

Lafarge decorative sands & aggregate

They are sands or gravel whose colors or shapes are appreciated for their decorative properties. They include red, pink, blue and yellow gravel and sands, their colors varying .depending on the region and on the specific rock deposit :Gravel and sands have natural properties. They are ,permeable, allowing water to flow through ,as resistant as traditional aggregates ,durable and easy to maintain .stable and rot-proof :They can be used for ,driveways ,gardens, to limit the spread of plants ,manufacturing decorative concretes .sand trays, due to their rounder grains, avoiding the risk of cuts Some decorative aggregates can also be used in the composition of Lafarge's aesthetic .concretes, such as Artevia

Lafarge manufactured sand for natural resource preservation

On a global scale, natural alluvial sand is becoming an increasingly rare and difficult-to-access resource. To preserve it, an alternative solution is Lafarge manufactured sands, produced by crushing rocks. They have numerous advantages: They are as fine and regular as natural sand. Like natural sand, they offer constant and controlled quality to guarantee reliability. They increase the compressive strength of concrete by 3 to 5%. They can be produced in numerous countries, facilitating supply in areas where natural sand is scarce. Depending on how finely they are ground, they can be used for: road surfacing (the coarsest), bricks, concrete blocks, cement. Thanks to their mechanical properties, the finest sands can also be used in the composition of concretes, including high performance products.

Concrete (3
Lafarge offers a wide range of products. These products cover all applications in the .construction sector, from public works to decoration

Hydromedia, Lafarges revamped pervious concrete

Thanks to its very high permeability and drainage capacity, Hydromedia absorbs rainwater and facilitates its natural runoff into the ground. It also avoids saturation of the stormwater treatment network, reducing the risk of flooding. Finally, water no longer accumulates on roads and paths. This means fewer puddles, safer roads, pathways and .parking lots for the city's users : Mainly designed for use in an urban environment, it is especially well suited to ,(low-traffic roads (cycle paths, parking lots, driveways and side walks ,sports pitches .It can also be used as a sub-base Hydromedia offers optimum performances when incorporated into stormwater systems designed for a particular soil type. Due to its viscous but also fluid formulation, Hydromedia is easier to place than existing pervious concretes. This

cutting-edge technology also gives it greater robustness and greater long-term .resistance

Thermedia, a new generation of insulating concretes

The new range of Thermedia concretes is boosting buildings' energy performance by giving concrete a new role in the construction system: to reduce heat loss. Thermedia 0.6 B is the first product in the range and offers advantages in terms of sustainable construction: it reduces heating and air-conditioning costs it cuts energy consumption of a building. It is also fluid and very workable making it a material which is very easy to use, while retaining the properties of a traditional concrete (mechanical, acoustic, earthquake resistance, durability, shrinkage and fire resistance)

Agilia: the self-placing, self-leveling concrete

Launched on the French market in 2000, Agilia is a self-placing, self-leveling concrete. Highly fluid, this concrete spreads effortlessly. It can be poured quickly and provides a perfect, highly esthetic finish. Agilia considerably improves conditions on building sites: thanks to its fluidity, it eliminates the tedious chore of vibration. This improves on-site conditions for workers, it reduces worksite noise, a source of irritation both for workers and for nearby residents.

Today, Lafarge is the only global producer able to manufacture self-placing concrete in all locations with guaranteed, consistent quality. Agilia is a range of concrete products suitable for all uses: Agilia Force, Agilia Formes, Agilia Horizontal, Agilia Vertical, etc.
