This section explores the amount of damage earthquake can do based on its magnitude, common damages incurred during an earthquake such as settlement destruction and tsunamis, and also preventative measures that we can take to prevent damages done by earthquakes.

cause permanent change in the Earth's crust through this website. This website is very thorough in helping you understand how earthquakes are caused! Included are some great animations to watch how different forces cause earthquakes.

This website has great links to stories about earthquakes, specific earthquake facts, and a great disaster intensity scale that explains what damage you can expect from the Richter scale.
